Arya’s heart burned with anger. This dead man!!

Her answer ‘Yes’ was strong and firm.

She wanted to go over and punch him in his face.  She wanted to get back her lunch box and that grilled chicken.

She will not let him eat and neither will she let him smell.

There are some people who should not receive good treatment and Mr. poisonous tongue is a living example.

He also took advantage of her…….

Well, he took the opportunity when she treated him well and bullied her!  It’s true she is not smart but does he think she is really that stupid?

She got on the bus and headed towards the address that Jack texted her.

As the bus moved on its journey, suddenly her mind cleared up like her veins had been unclogged and she became alert.

She is naïve and of course, that dead guy is also naïve but she is certain he is not really that naïve.

He had deliberately played a prank on her.  She was stressed, that was why she became naïve and did not think things through.  Actually,  in the first place everything was his fault and if he was injured, he really deserved it!

The more she thought, the angrier she became.  After she grabbed back her things, she planned to ignore him for a month until he realized his mistake.  She will wait for him to apologize to her and promise not to tease her anymore before she will reconcile with him.

Arya rushed quickly to Jack’s residence.  It was a high-end apartment building not far from his hospital.  It was clean, beautiful and elegant.

She was not in the mood to admire the surroundings and as soon as she found the building that housed Jack’s apartment, she took the elevator.

As soon as she walked out of the elevator, she heard Jack’s voice.  This time, even without looking for his apartment, she could find him by following the sound of his voice.

Just as she stepped forward, she heard Jack said.  “Please leave.”

She was stunned.  Who was he talking to with this kind of rude tone?

She quickened her footsteps and soon came to the door of Jack’s apartment.  The door was wide opened and Jack was standing there with his arms folded in imposing manner. There was also a young woman.

“Please leave.”  Those two words were spoken again to the young woman.

“Jack, I’ve met our old friends and old classmates.  They said you……”

Before the woman could finish speaking, she was interrupted by Jack.  “No matter what they said, it is not what I said.  I am also not interested in listening to the gossips you share with them after a long absence.”  When he said this, he looked up and saw Arya.  Then he added.  “My friend is here.  It’s not convenient to entertain you.  Please leave.”

When the woman heard this, she turned her head around to look.  Arya let out a sigh when their eyes met.  She was really beautiful.

She was tall, with bright black eyes and raven black curly hair lining her little face.  She was looking stylish and confident in her purple short dress.

Arya did not know why but she had a feeling this woman was Jack’s first love.

Although she had joked with Jack about this woman, after really seeing her, she had an weird feeling in her heart.

When the woman saw Arya, she swept a glance at her up and down.

Suddenly she smiled and stretched out her hand and said.  “Hello,  I am Shelly O’Brien.  I was Jack’s college-mate when we were in medical college and ……..friend.”  She deliberately stressed the word ‘friend’ to pinpoint it.

Ok, So this is the legendary first love……  She was really beautiful and sharp.

Arya nodded and gave crisp reply, “I am Arya.”  She didn’t saying anything about her friendship with Jack as she was angry at him.

Shelly smiled.  Then she turned around and spoke to Jack.  “They said you still don’t have a girlfriend.”

Jack threw a meaningful glance at Arya and said.  “Whether I have or don’t have a girlfriend, I don’t need to report to them.”

“They also said the two girlfriends that you had previously were totally different from me.”  At the same time, Shelly also gave Arya a glance and it was a meaningful look.

The more Arya heard their talk, her anger began to rise up.  Obviously, she was an outsider but why are these two people putting her in the middle of their conversation?

This Shelly uttered every word as ‘they said this, they said that……”  Could it be, she just wanted to say that after everybody’s verification, Jack had still not gotten over his love for her?  And now that she had returned, so both of them simply could embrace their love once again?  Going round in such a big circle and not speaking clearly about this……this was really annoying.

“I’ve already said.  Whatever they said has nothing to do with me and also what kind of girlfriend I have doesn’t have anything to do with you.  I know what you want to say but you really don’t have to blow your own trumpet.  Please leave.”  While Jack was speaking, he stretched out his hand and pulled Arya into his apartment to stand by his side.  His actions seemed to say ~ Look, now I have a partner, please leave.

This was the third time Arya had heard Jack said those words ‘Please leave.’……but obviously, Shelly had no intention to leave.  When she opened her mouth and wanted to say something, Arya was unable to bear it any longer.

“Miss O’Brien, I’m sorry I’ve to interrupt.  Do you understand the words ‘the days in the future are numerous’?  Now, under such circumstances, it’s useless for you to say anything more.  Since you know where he stays, you can come every day to chase him.  But now I’m here and in front of me you keep referring to yourself as an ex-girlfriend, former college mate…… don’t you feel you are very rude?  Now is dinner time and even if you don’t want to eat, I am very hungry.  If you want to carry on discussing your private affairs and talk about your feelings, can you please arrange for another time to do this?”

Jack and Shelly both turned their heads to look at her.  Both of them had ugly expressions on their faces.

Arya looked at them back and forth and in her heart, she was cursing.

Look? What is there to look at?  Her mood was also not too good and she said.  “Is my suggestion not good enough?”

Shelly bit her lip and ignored Arya.  She faced Jack and said.  “I’ll call you later.”

“Why waste call charges?”  Jack replied coldly.

Shelly did not say anything and secretly gave Jack a glance.  Then without saying anything to Arya, she turned around and left.

As soon as he closed the door, Jack frowned at Arya.  “What do you mean by saying ~ Since you know where he stays, you can come every day to chase him?  Why did you put ideas in her head?”

Arya frowned.  She stared at his mouth and saw the injury on his lip was very prominent.

“Even if I don’t put such an idea, do you think she will not come here on her own?  I didn’t ask her to come today but why is she here?  So, in the future, if she really comes, you must remember to think rationally.  This really has nothing to do with me.”

The wrinkled eyebrows of Jack tightened.  “There is really nothing between the both of us. I didn’t even give her my cell phone number the last time we met.  She asked for my number from our former college mates and when I didn’t answer her calls, she came here.”

She did not care about all these and asked.  “Didn’t she ask why your mouth was injured?”

Her voice tone sounded bad and so Jack’s tone was also not good. “It’s really regretful, she really didn’t ask.”

“It’s really regretful.  The role you arranged for me didn’t make an impact.”

Finally, Jack could not stand it and ask.  “Why are you throwing your temper?”

Arya ignored him, turned around and went into the kitchen.  She looked around and did not find her lunch box.  Then she opened the fridge to look and found her lunch box sitting inside.  In the fridge, there were also several other dishes.

She took out her lunch box and turned around to see a bag on the kitchen counter.  Without a care, she took the bag and put the lunch box inside.  Then she made a move to leave.

When she turned around, she saw the astonishment on Jack’s face.  He did not expect the reason she came was just to take away the lunch box.

“Dr. Jack, I really treated you wholeheartedly as a friend.  In the past, I didn’t know my place and pursued you.  Maybe during that time I was not sincere, only attracted by your external qualities and did not really think whether we were really suitable for each other or not.  But then after getting along with you, I slowly began to realize that you are very nice, warm-hearted and responsible.  So I really cherish you as a friend.  I know you are good buddies with Mark, and the way you express your friendship is a bit scary, but I’m not like them.  I have my own way of nurturing a friendship.  Maybe you will think that some of the things I do are ridiculous and when you take it as a joke, I feel sad and angry.  When you talk to other people about this, I feel embarrassed and awkward.  Dr. Jack, I may not be smart like you but I have self-esteem.  Whether you are really teasing me or otherwise and when you are enjoying yourself, please do think about my feelings.”

“Arya……It’s not..”  Jack wanted to speak but she raised her hand to stop him.

“Dr. Jack, I feel very happy interacting with you.  Although I was unsuccessful in my pursuit, I am still very happy and in the end, we are still able to be friends.  However, friendship is like love……and it also required sincereity.  In fact, if you need my help, I will be very happy to help you.  But if you request me to come over with ridiculous reasons, just to show off to your first love, it hurts..”

“What!! I’m not…….”  Once again Jack wanted to speak but was again interrupted by her.

“Does you think what you did was correct?”

Jack opened his mouth and had not spoken yet when Arya glared at him and said.  “Dr. Jack, you should apologize to me!”

He opened his mouth but no words came out from his mouth.  Arya again continued.  “I’ve taken back the grilled chicken and anyway, you don’t really have the sincerity to eat it.  In the future, I will not prepare anything for you to eat again. If you don’t reflect on yourself and apologize, it will be difficult for us to be friends.  Do you agree?”

When she asked him ~ Do you agree? ~ she did not give him the opportunity to answer.  As soon as she finished speaking, she turned and walked away.

Opening the door, walking to the elevator and pressing the button……all movements were smoothly carried out.

At the same time, she felt a little cheerful.  She held on to her lunch box like she was holding weapons.  She only felt that after she had spoken out her thoughts, she felt light and cool.

“Arya! Wait”  Jack actually came chasing after her.

She stepped into the elevator when the elevator door opened and she looked back at him.

“If I want to reject any woman, I don’t need you as a shield.  If I want to make fun of women, I don’t need you as a target.”

He thought for a moment and he felt as if he had said something wrong and quickly corrected himself.  “I’m not the kind of person who enjoys making fun of women.”

She twitched her mouth and said.  “This can barely be taken as an explanation but it is definitely not an apology.”

“Hey….what about dinner?”  Jack frowned again and asked. He had already ordered few extra dishes for their dinner along with grilled chicken..

She pulled a face at him and closed the elevator door.

As the elevator went down, she remembered the expression on his face just now, she smiled.

Ha, ha…….he can also feel anxious!  Did he really feel anxious?

As she hugged her lunch box, she felt a little sweetness in her heart.

In her mind, she assumed this was the sense of joy for her victory.
