Chapter 15: Chapter 15

Chapter fourteen

Zack's POV.

It's been two days since that kiss happened. I do see James most times, and he's been nicer, if I'll like to add. I thought at first that he would become cold to me, but he proves me wrong.

He would come up to pass me a cup of tea, not his idea though, his uncle's instead, but for him to still offer to do that melts my heart.

The books he got me motivated me to write as well. Every day, once done with breakfast, I'll help out however I can, before rushing to my room to continue writing. James really did help me elevate. Now, I write at least ten pages every day, caused by the distraction in this cabin, and by that I mean James. In addition, I'm getting more familiar with around here.

Though, I would like my car to be repaired sooner so I won't lose my interview, and I'll be forever grateful for coming here.

The door to my room creaks open, as I slide my hands away from the laptop, wanting a rest. I had just finished with writing seven pages. It is James, and he is smiling cheekily at me. See the distraction yet?

"You should come downstairs." With a nod to the side, he then closes the door halfway, well, more like leave it open a bit for me to know I should hurry.

When I get down, I see the a man opposite to James. They are both talking, I suppose. James turns to me, and begins. "This is the mechanic."

Oh, he is?

Of course, he is. The uniform on his body proves that.

"Hello." I start with.

"I'm Ray." He state, and I nod.

"My name is Zack." He outstretch his hand for a shake, and I take it without hesitation.

"The overheating of your car has caused little more harm, but it'll all be cleared soon. I just got back from the city with the materials to use, since we don't have your car's type here. I guarantee you, every damages will be repaired." Once he's finished, he give me a firm nod to confirm his saying.

"Okay, um, thanks. I'll appreciate that."

"Yes, sir." His eyes move from me to James, whom he shares a nod with as well, then he walks out.

"He wanted to converse the issue with you personally." James tell me, referring to Ray.

"Oh, that's so professional of him."

"He could have told me." He counter. Is he being jealous? I don't think so.

"I need to go and write again. Or you need my help with anything, I'll be more than happy to help." He's offered me lots of help lately. It will do me no harm or discomfort to return it little by little. A favour for a favour.

"Nah, you can go."

I frown at his decision. When I release my brows, I begin to walk but his words halt me.

"Er, by the way, the connection is back. The server has been repaired. Connect your laptop to the WiFi, no password." He is smiling cheekily at me, while I'm shocked.

Oh, goodness, I can't believe this. My face shows my surprise.

Then, surprising me more, he hands me a white envelope. Opening it, I already know what it is. It's the letter I wrote, meant to be sent to Susan.

"They never sent it?"

"They would have, but when words reach that the server is being repaired, they had to hold on." He chuckles. I scoff, just happy at how fast I can contact Susan.

I get to think about the interview also. I should go and check my email, holy cow.

"I'll be back." Without waiting for his remark, I rush up the stairs.

"Just be careful." I hear him say in the background, but didn't pay attention to it.

Getting to my room, I minimize the microsoft screen, and quickly connect the connection to the WiFi.

Once that's successful, I tap on the email section, and reload it. Right after then, rows and rows of messages from some writing blogs I subscribed to, people's channels from YouTube and so on keeps entering, but two most important caught my eyes. There's two messages from Susan, which I will be reading later, and two from Black Script.

Without further delay, I press on the first message — one from the Black Script— and begin reading.

Immediately I finish reading the mail, I press on the reply section. Taking me to the new space, I click on attach file, then search for one of my amazingly done work, already finished when the new section pops in. Successful, I send the work back to my consultant, hoping she sees it sooner.

I just can't express how happy I am that the server came back at this time. It is just the awaiting moment. Assuming it hadn't worked now, I wouldn't have known about this. It would have been devasting. I still have time before going to Los Angeles.

Oh speaking of Los Angeles, "Susan!" My brains pops the word into my mouth.
