Chapter 59: Chapter 59
Angel shut his eyes, dragging his hands over his face and back to his nape. All the information he just got swirled inside him, making him feel tired. He doubted Nadia would agree to come with them, especially when she found out what he had done to his uncle and cousins. She might not have a great love for what her family was doing for business, they were still her blood. That was why he had deliberately left that part out, making her believe he just needed the weapons to aid their escape. He, however, didn’t know how she was going to take the news of her being his mate and having the blood of a wolfless clan. And of course, the possibility that she might already be a full-blown wolf. The thought of Nadia being able to shapeshift somewhat excited him. The knowledge filled his beast with pleasure. Seducing him with the thought of being able to roam with her, hunt, feed off of the land and fucked with no restrain. He sat beside her on the bed and raised his hand to gently stroke her nicely trimmed eyebrow.
And when she made a painfilled sound again, he cooed, “Shh, Nadie, I am here, you are saved.”

Nadia opened her eyes sometime later and the first feeling she felt was fear. Her eyes roamed the big beautiful room and she tried to rise. Pain tore through her skull and she groaned, slowly resting her head back on the soft pillow. The room was pitch black but she found she could see clearly as if the room was fully illuminated. She blinked, wondering at the anomaly. The event that preceded her unconscious state flowed into her head and tears blurred her vision. Her shoulder shook delicately as she cried. She couldn’t tell where she was and she feared Angel must have been caught or killed and now her uncle must have brought her to another location. She wondered if he knew she had betrayed him and was in a way responsible for Daniel’s death. He would surely hate her. And her father was nowhere near that he could save her. Her ears pricked and her eyes darted to the door. She could hear footsteps from outside and the scent of food made her stomach rumble. When the door was pushed open she quickly shut her eyes, pretending to be unconscious, her heart thudding faster in the wall of her chest.
She heard a switch and the room illuminated. The soft smell of exotic floral mixed with roasted beef whizzed into her nostrils. Her stomach made a loud noise and a soft chuckle made her open her eyes. A beautiful, pregnant woman with striking eyes like purple sapphire stood by her bedside carrying a tray.
“Glad to finally see you open those eyes. You were beginning to scare me into thinking you may have suffered some brain injuries that may require us to get you to E.R. I am Amèlie. Your resident doctor, also the Luna to the gorgeous Alpha Xavier,” the woman joked.
“Alpa Xavier?” Nadia repeated in almost a whisper. Amèlie frowned and slowly put the tray down on a foam-padded bench at the foot of the bed. She sat down and reached out to place a hand over Nadia’s head. Her frown deepened, and then she used her two hands to prey open Nadia’s eyelids, examining them.
“Follow the movement of my finger,” she said and Nadia watched her, a little puzzled “Tell me your name,” Amèlie said. Nadia swallowed.
“Nadia Rufus,” she replied.
“How old are you?”
“Um… twenty-five,” Nadia replied.
“Can you tell me what happened to you?”
“I… um…” Nadia said and tears streamed down the side of her face. Amèlie lowered her hands from her face, searching her gaze.
“You can remember, right?”
“Yes,” Nadia replied with a gentle nod, wishing she had indeed lost her memory. Angel's words haunt her and her lips shook. She wished he was safe and had an explanation for what he said to her and did. Or better yet, she hoped it was all a nightmare that never happened. The thought of him actually using her and being intimate with her in a calculative measure to only gain his freedom made her feel sick inside.
“Did Angel hit you?” Amèlie asked.
“No! He didn’t do anything to me. Daniel … Please, where is Angel?” she asked, blinded with tears.
“I am here, Nadie,” Angel replied and her eyes shot to the doorway. Nadia saw him standing there with another man and woman that have the same eye colour as him. A deep frown furrowed her eyebrows.
“You are okay,” she said almost to herself. Her heart rejoiced with relief. Then she remembered what he had done and felt sad all over again.
“I am…” he replied simply.
“Where are we?” she asked gingerly, looking from the doctor to Angel and the other tall male and then the striking woman by his side.
“Alexander Miller’s house…” Angel replied. When fear flashed in her eyes, Angel took a step forward but Amèlie lay a gentle hand over Nadia’s hand, making her look at her.
“You are safe here with us, so is Angel, The man standing beside him is Xavier and the beauty with them is Isabelle. I already told you I am Amèlie. I am a doctor, Xavier is my boyfriend…”
“Boyfriend?” Xavier snarled with disapproval. Amèlie and Isabelle giggled. Nadia relaxed a little watching the exchange.
“You are all Werewolves?” Nadia asked, thinking that would only be the reason why Angel would look so calm and well-groomed. He looked different now, wearing a raglan sleeve shirt over denim jeans and wore sneakers. It seemed strange to see him fully clothed but he looked so good she found herself trailing her eyes down his body and back up. When their gazes met, she blushed and lowered her gaze. Angel caught the gesture and clenched his jaw, hating himself for what he did and said to her earlier. Guilt gnawed at him and he dreaded the conversation he would soon be forced to have with her.
“They are werewolves, my boyfriend hasn’t accorded me the honour yet,” Amèlie said. Xavier groaned. Angel smiled. Isabelle chuckled.
“You are human then?” Nadia asked, thinking since she was not in chains and Angel's people are being nice to her, Angel must not mean what he said.
“Yes, like you, I am a human, mated to an alpha Were,” Amèlie replied.
“Mated?” Nadia repeated. Xavier cleared his throat.
“Angel is your boyfriend, right?”
“We um… haven’t defined our relationship yet…” Nadia said, her cheeks heating up with embarrassment.
“Angel will explain that to you,” Isabelle said, coming to sit by her side, she took her hand and stroked the back gently smiling at her. “You had us all worried—”
“I am sorry,” Nadia replied, feeling somewhat protected even though they were all strangers.
“No need to be sorry, at all,” Isabelle said, raising her hand to carefully cup her chin. She smiled at Nadia.
“How long was I asleep?”
