Chapter 47: Chapter 47

“The werewolf with the golden fur,” Xavier replied.

“You mean Blaze, his real name is Faelan?” Angel asked, darting a widened gaze at Blaze who was now shifting uncomfortably on his feet.

“Yes, he has a family, a brother, waiting to reunite with him,” Xavier supplied.

“Interesting—” Angel said, arching an eyebrow at Blaze who rolled his eyes but Angel could tell he was happy at the information and excited. He felt happy for the young Were. “He never spoke about a family, but that isn’t a surprise. I knew he was brought in young. They take them through hell before throwing them in the Were pit. Some weren’t strong enough to make it that far. He did. You don’t want to know what they do to pups around here…” Angel said, causing everyone to lower their gazes to the floor.

“Why Blaze though?”

“The boy is always angry, and when he was brought to us, he wasn’t able to remember a thing. I and the rest of the guys named him Blaze,” Angel replied. Blaze held his gaze looking sheepish, the corner of his lips tugged in a ghost of a smile.

“Mmm… I hope we can soon end that nightmare…” Xavier replied.

“You can help get us out of here, as for the nightmares… that will take time…” Angel said, raising his eyes and darting them from one Were to the other and finally settling on Blaze.

“I hope Rufus is badly hurt?” Xavier said. His voice was hard and cold.

“Yes, but recovering—although not as fast as he used to—You killed his healer,” Angel said. Remembering the conversation between Antonio Rufus and someone named Gunther. Antonio Rufus had told him to come with his men. They had been talking about the man's day of arrival when he heard them. Contrary to what Kurt thought, it appeared Antonio Rufus would not be able to get men to the house by morning. The man had promised four days at least. Angel hoped by then there would not be a soul on the grounds to torment. He had also heard Antonio Rufus complaining about the doctor’s healing elixir not working. And with the amount of groaning and shouting coming from his suite, Angel doubted he would be up and tormenting anyone in the next few days at least.

“The girl faking to be my mother?”

“Yes.”

“How is she his healer? He spoke to her like she was his pet,” Xavier said.

“Oh, she was his pet — she was his sex slave,” Angel said with difficulty.

“What?”

“I must tell you, she wasn’t the first, but she last the longest. The experimental drugs messed up her mind, and she grew feral, but that didn’t stop him from still using her body. He is not quite right in the head if you haven't noticed,” Angel said with a sigh. “I suppose that was why he wanted the she-wolf we came for—” Angel explained, trying not to think of the other she-wolf that killed herself before they ventured out or the ones that were raped to death in their cells before then.

“Angel, the she-wolf is my sister — my twin sister, her name is Isabelle,” Xavier said.

Angel felt his heart lunge hard against the wall of his chest. Antonio Rufus had gone after his blood! “I see… I didn’t know you have a sister— it makes more sense then, why he would be this desperate. She is Wulfblood— a true original like me…” Angel replied trying to sound normal but the rage swirling inside him was profound. He started to pace. The anger made him clench his jaw and fist, when he spoke again, he sounded guttural. “That will make her my kin! He wants my family!”

“He doesn’t just want her for his son, does he?” Xavier asked in rhetoric but Angel replied anyway.

“No. I doubt that now. You must protect her with everything you’ve got — at least till we execute our plan.” Angel sounded peeved, annoyed Antonio Rufus had wanted to use him to get one of his family!

“How do we help with your plan?” Xavier asked.

“How fast can you get here? He is down but making retributive plans,” Angel replied with gritted teeth.

“Would seventy-two hours do?”Xavier asked.

“Yes, but then you have to lay low and wait for me to call you when it is time.”

“Perfect.”

“How do you intend to protect Isabelle while you are out here? Will you be bringing her?” Angel asked, feeling agitated and concerned now that he knew who Isabelle was.

“Belle will be fine. You don’t need to worry,” Xavier responded. “How many people should we be looking forward to rescuing?”

“Nine werewolves – that’s counting Blaze and me, twelve humans,” Angel replied without pausing.

“Okay,” Xavier said and Angel noted the pregnant pause before he added, “why are we rescuing humans?”

“They were trafficked, and we can’t afford to leave innocent people in the building—” Angel replied.

“Why?”

“I intend to blow this place up. So, when I say be here in an hour, please do not be a second late,” Angel said and cut the line. He clenched the phone in his big palm and continued to pace. His rage was palpable.

“He was going to use me to get my kin?! He was going to fucking use me to get my kin!” Angel growled low in his throat. He felt his power swirl inside him and he could feel his beast surfacing. His chest heaved.

“He failed, Angel. Calm down,” Kurt cautioned. “You are going to break the phone!” Angel threw the phone in Kurt’s direction and the other Were caught it in mid-air.

“We get to stop him now. And end this once and for all…” Fenrir said.

“I’m going to kill him. I am going to fucking kill them all!” Angel ranted as he continued to pace. His arm muscles bulge impressively as he clenched and unclenched his fist. He was livid and it was obvious.
