Chapter 9: Chapter 9

Zarogian here we come

Elle's POV

Elijah and I exchanged hugs with Belle as we set off to search for a Zarogian tree. It was dark outside and so we took a fire torch light with us so we would be able to see. Two months missing from the earth. It must have sent my parents in a state of panic.

I was wondering how I should approach them, how I should introduce Elijah and explain everything to them. We walked towards the forest and searched for at least an hour until we managed to find an active Zarogian. There it was. All glowing and huge. I took a deep breath and smiled knowing that I was returning home.

“You must think hard about earth or we end up in another random planet so you must show the Zarogian where you need to go by thinking about your loved ones, family, friends. We must hold hands tightly or else I end up someplace else. Just concentrate. Let’s go.”

He held my hand tightly and I closed my eyes and we walked through the tree. I was concentrating, thinking about my mother, imagining her sweet smile as she looked at me. Then I thought of dad and I got a flashback of when I was still a child and he was handing out Christmas presents for me that were tucked up under the Christmas tree.

I felt a push and I held tighter to Elijah as I feared that the pressure would separate us, then everything went quiet. I opened my eyes and found myself in front of my house on planet earth with Elijah beside me. I screamed with joy at the top of my lungs and turned to hug him tightly. It was night time here too.

My parents must be in bed by now, or maybe not. There was light coming from the kitchen. They must be there I thought. I signalled for Elijah to follow me and walked slowly in the kitchen to find my parents with a couple of police standing around the table. My mom was the only one sitting down with her hands on her face. Her body language showed how sad and scared she looked.

As soon as I see all that commotion I decided to move Elijah to my bedroom and asked him to stay there until I settle everything downstairs.

I entered the kitchen and called out “mum, dad.”

They both turned with astonished looks on their faces. Mum jumped out of the chair and ran towards me with open arms as she was shedding tears. Dad joined in as well and I could see how much they both were worried and missed me. We hugged for a long time.

The police left and it was time to explain what happened to me. They were exchanging looks at each other and could tell that they were thinking that I have gone crazy. But I had proof of my story and called Elijah to come down. Their eyes were gazing at the kitchen doorway and finally, Elijah showed up. I smiled at him and offered him my hand.

“Come here. Let me introduce you to my family. Mum, Dad this is Elijah.”

Their mouths widened and dad stood up fast holding his hands on his head-scratching the last bit of curls he had left.

Weeks have passed and Elijah and myself took our time to settle down to what I can best call it, a normal routine. My parents have started growing fond of Elijah, especially my dad. He has not stopped ranting about how much he knows about space, or what he thinks he knows.

But there was someone that I have not yet seen since I arrived and I was really missing her. It was time for me to let Nora know I was visiting her and introduce her to Elijah. I called her the day after I returned home and I could hear her scream excitedly at the top of her lungs. I looked at Elijah knowing that he must have heard her too from the other side of the room and saw a smile forming as he sat down on the bedside.

“I have a special someone that I would like to introduce you too,” I was telling her as I explained why I was gone.

We decided to meet at her new apartment so that we wont be in a crowd of people and receive a lot of staring since Elijah was not human.

It was time to go and I wore a white t- shirt and blue jeans.

I felt excited to introduce my handsome partner to Nora. I explained that he was an alien and sent her a picture of him from my phone which I missed horribly since I was without it for two months, so that she wouldn’t feel shocked when she sees him in person.

He brought some Ragnon clothes with him and changed into a black shirt that he left unbuttoned revealing his muscles and tucked it into a long black tight fit trousers. We left using my car to avoid people. I could see Elijah was a bit nervous and excited at the same time as it was the first time he laid his eyes on a car.

“This is amazing. Wow. Do you drive this thing to go to places?” he asked.

I laughed and smiled as I was driving through the busy streets. I could see him staring through the car window and sometimes I hear him whisper to himself as he saw things he had never seen before.

We arrived to Nora's house and I parked on her large parapet. As soon as we closed the car doors I hear the door of her house unlocking and she ran outside for a long awaited hug.

Nora's POV

My hands were sweating with excitement as I waited impatiently for Elle and her new alien lover to arrive. First off I have not seen her in two months. I was worried that she was either abducted, lost or worse. She is like a sister to me and her absence left a void in me so much that I couldn’t make myself eat. I lost a lot of weight and surely she will tell me something about it.

I was crying my eyes out, relieving all the fear I had when I heard a car engine that I recognised.

I rushed down the stairs almost tripping over some sandals I left in the middle and ran outside, jumping on Elle with a squeak that I couldn’t control. My energy finally returned as lately I had none.

“Elle! Oh my God Elle!” I screamed as I touched her face with both of my hands and squeezed to make sure she is really here.

“Ooowww, you know you are squashing my face” Elle said with a muffled voice as she laughed at my reaction, then I let her face go and hugged again.

When I finally let go off her I turned to see the Ragnon alien staring at me with wide eyes and I noticed they had an unusual colour. I moved towards him smiling and introduced myself. Elle surely made the right choice. He looks really handsome and I was willing to start knowing him. I let them both in my house which Elle never managed to see yet since she was supposed to come for the first time the day after she was gone. After showing them everywhere we settled down in my small back garden. We chatted and laughed and Elle was explaining to me every detail. Jack, my soon to be husband joined us as we decided to do a barbeque.

Elle's POV

I could tell Nora has really lost weight. I have blamed myself for it knowing how she is. I am sure she knows that I normally get upset with her whenever she stops eating as it is a tendency that she has whenever she gets worried, so this time I chose not to bring up the subject as I knew the cause of it. Jack, Nora's fiancée joined us later on since he was at work. His dark skin made his teeth look whiter as he smiled at us, welcomed me back and shook hands with Elijah.

Nora prepared some food for us and I helped her prepare the table, taking out everything from the fridge and the boys went to get the barbeque ready to cook some meat. I could tell Elijah was enjoying Jack's company.

Nora's POV

“Do you want to sleep here tonight?” I offered them both as it was getting quite late.

Elle looked at Elijah, then back to me and nodded. “That would be nice of you. I am feeling a bit tired and don’t feel like driving back. I will call mum to let her know,” she said as she reached for her phone that was laying face down on the table.

She walked into the kitchen for some privacy, then returned with a smile on her face as she nodded, confirming her stay.
