Chapter 7: Chapter 7
Peace
Elijah's POV
I woke up feeling sore and exhausted. The pain that I endured was excruciating and my body felt weak. I could hear myself groan in agony as I tried to move. The first person I see as soon as I managed to open my eyes was the most beautiful alien I have ever met. Elle. She had her hand on my hair touching it softly to make me comfortable. I saw her worried face and I smiled.
“Hey, beauty," I groaned.
“You’re awake! Oh, Elijah. I was so worried. How are you feeling?” she asked.
I knew that she was with me all the time and never left my side. Humans are faithful beings and once bonded with someone they stay loyal.
I tried to move again in the hopes that I manage to sit down but the unbearable pain came back and I stayed still laying down sideways.
“No Elijah. You have two large wounds and a broken back. You need to rest and let them heal. Don’t worry, I will stay and help you the best I can, but I need you to stay put for some time.”
She fixed the bed sheets for me again whilst I told her how I got into this mess. Tears started to roll her face as she hugged and kissed me on my forehead, thanking her God for saving my life. It was a comforting sensation that helped me feel better but I knew that it was a long way along and that I couldn’t train until I healed well.
After three weeks of a lot of pain, patience and rest I felt better and was able to stand up and walk slowly. Fortunately, my backbone healed nicely and my lungs closed the wound. Still, I was advised to take it slowly.
Whilst I was eating some vegetables and fruit I started thinking about the fight. I remembered at some point I could hear the cheers of my people and the Gowdugers's snorting and screaming. I made an effort to slightly open my eyes and saw all of the creatures heading back to the forest and into the Zarogian trees before I lost my vision again. I knew someone was attending to my wounds at some point and could hear a familiar voice calling my name but I was too weak to move or speak.
“How are you feeling today handsome one?” Elle asked smiling as she rested her hand on my shoulder and leaned down to kiss my cheek.
“With you by my side I feel better,” I said grinning as I put my hand on hers. “How about you? Do you feel ready to go back home? I know you miss your family.”
I couldn’t hide my emotions and wore a sad face. I turned my head so she won't be able to see me like that. If she leaves me here that would mean that I would not be able to see her again. She saved my life and the lives of other Ragnons and I was grateful to have her with us at such a time
Elle's POV
I had fallen deeply in love with this man and I didn’t want to let him go. As soon as he asked me if I was ready to go back home, I felt nervous about how I should respond. My heart said stay yet my head said to go as I have been missing from my earth for weeks.
“Come with me,” I told him with a hopeful attitude. “Come with me and I will introduce you to my family. I can explain what happened and surely they will allow me to stay with you. I can come back and forth as long as the tree will stay there, opposite my house.”
He turned his face towards me and I could see that he wore a sad face. He opened his mouth to say something but stopped. He stayed quiet for a while with his eyes looking down.
“I have never visited your planet before. I will look different then the rest of you and people will be asking questions. They might be even scared of me. How will your parents react?”
I smiled at how deeply he thought about it and cupped his left cheek and hugged his face, moving it towards my belly.
“There is only one way to find out," I told him, trying to encourage him.
The following morning Belle asked me to accompany her for a shopping spree. Of course, I love shopping and I agreed immediately. The only problem was that I couldn’t buy anything as I had no money. We left right after lunch and drove off to Carzen town which was an hour drive from their house. A large building of about five stories was getting closer as we went past the last bit of the forest. A large sign said Carzen shopping centre and the green building had real Ragnons modelling behind large windows showing off some nice fresh clothes.
Belle had that glow in her eyes ready to spend hours and hours in that mall and I could tell that she was already envisioning herself with loads of bags coming out from the mall. She led me to the first shop. Here the traditional clothes they wear are with natural fabrics. They are either leather or sheep-like material. I can’t tell how many items she bought as it was too many.
“Come, choose a shop you think you’ll like Elle," she said.
“I cannot shop. I don’t have money. Besides, I can always borrow your clothes I guess if you don’t mind.”
I replied as I made an innocent face. “Don’t be boring, come. I will buy you some clothes. I know exactly what you'll like.”
She grabbed hold of my arm and dragged me with her.
Elijah's POV
I stood up from the chair that I was sitting on for hours. I decided that I should start training to strengthen my back muscles again and would not need anyone to help me anymore. I brought out my two swords that once belonged to my parents and went out into the woods to be alone and in a peaceful ambience.
I started by moving one leg forward pushing one of the swords straight towards thin air, then pretending that I had an enemy coming from behind, I flipped my body in the air, landing straight down and pushing the sword forward again hitting the imaginary enemy from behind.
I trained as if I was fighting in the battle and kept at it for hours until I could see the sun go down. At first, it was painful, but then my muscles adjusted and enjoyed my alone time. Whilst I was training a memory from the past came up in my thoughts. Whenever my mum used to feel stressed she always brought her sword out and on the same spot where I was standing she used to spend hours away from us relieving her anger or pain by training. I loved to go hide behind a tree and watch her quietly as her beautiful long black hair moved elegantly with her every motion. She was beautiful inside out. No wonder my dad fell instantly in love with her. I was lucky to have had them as my parents.
The girls went out shopping and I was left in peace doing what I loved the most. It was getting late and I don’t like the forest when it gets dark so I went back home to see a large amount of bags right in the doorway. Of course, what should I expect from my sister? It is her favourite thing to do. I helped her bring all the things upstairs and went into my room to get my clothes to take a shower. I kept thinking about what I should do regarding Elle.
When I brought her to the hospital the first day she got on this planet, everyone stared at her in awe when she was still unconscious in bed as our generation never met an earth human, she was an alien to us. I might have to deal with the same situation if I visit planet earth. But then again, the beauty queen said, there is only one way to find out.
I let out a sigh as I have made my decision and walk into the bathroom to find Elle there with a towel wrapped around her. That beautiful smile appeared with those high cheekbones and dimples being exposed still wet from her hair to her toes, I dropped the clothes I had in my hands on the floor, took off my clothes and pushed her right back in the shower.
