Chapter 21: Chapter 21
Beautiful trauma
Elle's POV
I was in my room contemplating what I have just found out a few minutes ago. Whenever I felt at my lowest I always loved to paint my feelings out so I decided to go buy an A2 thick paper and some acrylic colours. I taped the edges of the paper and placed it on my bedroom wall.
I breathed in and out and closed my eyes for a couple of minutes trying to plan out my drawing. Then I lifted up my arms as I picked my first colour and pressed it on the paper. I spent hours in my room all alone until I feel someone approaching from behind me. It was Belle.
She looked at the picture and was astound that I knew how to draw this good. She came closer towards the large painting then looked at me and hugged me tightly kissing my forehead softly and swung us gently from left to right as a gesture of comfort as she kept hugging. I closed my eyes as I gripped her arms tightyly leaning on her chest and cried.
"Your brothers look beautiful on your painting," she breathed.
I looked at the whole picture and appreciated what I have done. Two baby angels hugging each other with the most beautiful set of white wings.
"I named it beautiful trauma," I said as I kept observing the drawing.
She smiled as she wrapped her arms around me to give me comfort.
"I will take the drawing with me back to Rignau tomorrow," I announced.
"Tomorrow? Elijah told me not to let you cross over. He wants to settle things down first, then he will come for us as soon as everything is over. Anyway, I do need a hand now and again."
She grabbed my arms and continued "they plan on starting off with the idea you came up with first. If the plan fails, they will fight them our traditional way. Our army is strong enough to hold them back. I promise Elijah will be fine. Hopefully my husband too. They are both very strong and sharp. May our ancestors be with our loved ones and protect them from harm".
Days have passed since the arrival of Belle and we have not heard anything about Rignau. We both got very worried by then and needed to know what was happening but it was very dangerous to cross onto the other side as we could easily get spotted. We decided to keep waiting as we had no choice.
I called Nora to come over and see the twins whilst introducing her to Belle. Whilst we waited for her to come we heard the familiar sound of the Zarogian tree. Both Belle and I rushed towards the tree and we found both Elijah and Jean on the floor. We rushed towards them and helped them get up. The first thing I see was a gush on Elijah's left cheek that was surely done by a sharp knife. Blood was still spilling down slowly from it so I rushed inside to grab my first aid kit. Jean had a few bruises and a small cut on his right leg.
"Is it over?" Belle asked as we settled in the kitchen.
"It has been a full on five day battle. They keep on coming and we have no idea how to get rid of them. Surely we need a different plan," Jean said.
"We thought we should come pay you a visit whilst we ask you to help us with an idea," Elijah continued to explain.
Both Belle and I looked at each other with worry. Whilst Jean went to Belle's room to check out the boys, I sat down with Elijah trying to think of ideas.
"I think if I was fighting this battle, I try to trap the enemy out by putting some traps. Here, let me show you some options that our people used back in the days when we fought battles."
I pointed out some pictures from a history book that I used back when I was still in secondary school.
"That is a great idea. So you are saying that we should place them just in front of every Zarogian tree so when an enemy sets foot on our planet, they get caught," he said.
"Precisely. Then those that manage to cross safely, we need to set another trap for them. I have never seen you use arrows so I assume you don't have any," I told him.
"We actually do have. Our elders used to use them during their time in battles but they never trained us for some reason and we were only allowed to use swords," he explained.
"Well, then let the elders out and hide in the trees. They get ready so when they spot a Mandorian, they shoot an arrow at them. If they fail to shoot at some, we should be ready for another trap, and here comes the best part. We gather a few of the best swords men to fight the rest, but we keep some of the Mandorians and send them back where they belong with a message that if they dare to send more people or return back to Rignau we will come to their planet and kill all their kind but if they cooperate we will help them find an inhabited planet to start their new life there."
Elijah and Jean left earth and went back with my plan. I hoped for the best but I was still worried. I was no soldier so I only planned it out of movies I have watched and books I have read. when I went back inside I saw Belle with her hands both on her head whilst pacing around the kitchen table.
"I have sent them back with a plan. Hopefully it works. Until then we just have to wait," I said.
Belle stopped walking and stared at me.
"What is the plan?" She asked me.
I explained every detail of it and then sat down on the chair next to mine and stared at nothing for a while. I could tell she was thinking.
"How are we going to find another planet though?" She said breaking the silence.
"By taking our time travelling through the Zarogian tree. We mark each planet we visit until we find the right one for them. First of all it is good to please them so that they will become our loyal friends in need. Should we encounter any other enemies in the future, they will come help us and same thing if they end up in need, but it is always a privilage to have backup."
She stared in surprise and astonishment and I left her without words.
"You are brilliant minded Elle, you know that? We should make you a statue one day so Rignau will never forget that you were the one that helped our planet survive. You are such a wonderful human being."
I smiled but shook my head and refused that she will convince anyone to do such thing. I never had the intention to help for attention. I just fell in love with the Ragnons and Rignau. Their kindness filled my heart with so much joy that I felt like I was home.
