Chapter 20: Chapter 20

While on Rignau

Elle's POV

My eyes were adjusting to the strong light of the morning sun. My mother has moved the curtains, clapped and screamed out for me to wake up.

"Why, ma, what's happening?" I moaned whilst stretching myself and yawned still in bed.

"Well, we," she said and paused whilst pulling the sheets away from me "are going for an adventure together whilst we still can," she continued.

I moaned and pulled myself to sit up. I rubbed and opened one eye trying to force it open.

"Qmmmmm the light. It is too bright in the morning," I told her as I managed to set one foot down.

I slowly stood up from bed as my mum watched whilst wearing the biggest smile. I went into the bathroom to empty my full bladder and washed my teeth. When I went out I went downstairs to join mum and dad in the kitchen.

My goofy dad was singing as he moved his head from left to right and was saying "we're off to a yellow brick road, on our camper we hit the road. We settle down on the far away beach and we have some fun around."

He ended the song by hitting his hands on the table with two beats and then sat down and smiled at me.

"Have you ever considered to become a singer pup?" I teased him as I let go off my ears as he was way off tune. We all giggled and settled down for breakfast.

I packed some clothes and other stuff in my back pack and went in to take a shower before I placed my belongings in the caravan. I pulled up my ginger hair into a high pony tail and wore a light pink crop top that had a few flowers printed here and there and light blue denim shorts.

After driving for hours we settled near our favourite beach. The first thing I did was change into my bikini and ran off for a swim. As the warm sun hit my skin I breathed in the feshness of the ocean. I exhaled slowly and let out a sigh.

Whilst I was swimming my mum had finished cooking and when I returned with my wet body all dripping, she handed in a towel for me to dry off quickly to enjoy lunch.

My dad brought with him his favourite guitar and played it as the sun went down. It was such a relaxing day and was glad that I was woken up early that morning. We spent some days there before we packed everything up and headed home.

We were packing out the stuff we brought with us out of the caravan. My dad parked it in our home garage and we started to move the bags inside. I suddenly hear a baby's cry coming from our kitchen. To my shock I find Belle breastfeeding one of her two babies sitting down on a chair.

"Belle. Is everything ok?" I asked when I managed to find my voice.

She looked at me with sad eyes and a tear was running down her face. I leaned towards her for an embrace and started balling her eyes out.

"I couldn't help them this time. Its happening again," she said with her crying voice.

"What do you mean it happened again? Another war?" I asked whilst taking out Zaden out of the baby cot to comfort him.

She nodded and inhaled trying to calm herself down. "I never felt this helpless. My babies are a priority. I couldn't help my people to fight off those bastardous Mandorians."

This can't keep happening I said to myself. I wondered why do the enemies choose Rignau from all the other planets.

"What does Rignau have that other planets don't?" I asked her after thinking for a while.

She lifted her shirt up covering herself and put baby Lee back in the cot.

"We have kept our planet as natural as possible which means that we have plenty of food and water and a lot of very expensive stones that are still lying underground. They crave what they have managed to destroy on their planet. Since we have not brought down too many forests, we are the ones that have the most Zarogian trees around, therefore easier for the enemy to enter."

I settled Zaden back down in the crib next to his brother and watched my parents coming in. They stared at the scene in front of their eyes and I smiled at them.

"This is Belle, Elijah's sister and these are the baby twins I helped bring into the world," I introduced. "Belle this is mum and dad."

She smiled at them and apologised for entering the house without permission.

"I came in here this morning and found your house as soon as I entered into earth like my brother has promised, only to find out that no one was here. I had no choice but to come in from the window you left unlocked and wait for you to come back."

When my mum realised that she had no choice after explaining to her everything, she nodded and promised to take good care of Belle and her twins until she can return back. She left the kitchen to start preparing the only empty bedroom we had left in the house.

I helped her out putting the cot next to the queen size bed, dusted the bed side tables, and prepared the bed sheets. When I returned downstairs I noticed that dad was holding lee close to him.

He had a sad look on his face and as soon as he saw me standing there observing him he turned to face the other side.

"What's wrong papa?" I asked curiously as I stepped forward.

Mum came from behind me and noticed that she also had a sad face. No one spoke until Belle came back from the bathroom breaking the silence.

"Is everything alright?" She asked whist she stared at all of us.

"I am not so sure we are," I exclaimed as I noticed now that they were hiding something from me.

My parents both looked down and I showed them that I was getting upset with their silence.

"Mum do you care to explain?" I asked her with a steady tone.

She looked at dad, then looked at me. "We are sad because we have lost two babies, both boys before we had you," she said as she squeezed off the last part of the sentece before gasping to prevent herself from crying.

Dad could not control his emotions and put back the baby in the crib and left the room.

"I'm so sorry to hear," Belle said. "I didn't want to hurt you like that," she continued. "Unfortunately I had no where else to go. Do you want me to leave?" She asked.

"No, definitely not" I spat out. "You are going to stay with us, no matter what."

I shook my head at mum and sat down on the chair that was out from underneath the table. I rested my elbow on the table and placed my hand on my head as I suddenly felt it heavy.

Belle's POV

I was out of words and felt really uncomfortable at this point. Elle was right to feel angry at her parents for not telling her this before. She had the right to know that she had siblings even though they passed. On our planet it was a grave thing to do, hiding family secrets from each other.

We always trusted one another whilst sharing each other's burdens. Both my babies were fast asleep and I did not want to wake them up so I just sat right next to Elle as I side hugged her for comfort. I could see her eyes fill up with tears as she accepted my emrace and rested her head on my shoulder.

"Why did you not tell me this before? I had all the right to know. It is embarassing living a happy life like this not feeling a sense of mourne towards those I have lost, whether or not they came before my time. I never in my life thought you would hide important stuff from me. I have always spilled the beans with you and you know that."

She explained to mum her feelings and at this point I could tell that she didn't feel angry anymore, just sad. Her mother turned towards her and as she wiped away a tear drop from her cheek, she stood up.

"There are no words to give you a good reason and a good excuse. I am sorry. Daughter, please forgive us. We never found the right time to tell you. Our hearts always ached at the thought of our two lost sons. We never wanted to re open the wound so that os why we never mentioned it before." She explained.

Elle looked straight into her eyes for a while, then lifted her head up straight.

"What was their name? How did they pass away and how old were they?" She asked holding her hands on her lap.

"Kirsten was our first born. He was a strong and healthy baby at first but he got sick after a few months and died. The second one was still Bourne. We decided to name him angel. To us both of them are our angels that protect us everyday from harm," her mother explained.

"Then you came into our world and you were everything. You meant the whole wide universe and more then the most expensive diamond to ever exist. You have half healed our wounds as we watched you grow up into a strong, loving young woman that you are today," She continued.
