Chapter 90: Chapter 90
Still considering the events of the past hour, Sharon could understand why Bryan had been so violently angry a out Gerhard, why he had insisted that she married him and why he had been furious that his daughter's paternity had been kept from him.
His child would always know his father and mother. History would not repeat itself. NY one question remained unanswered. Where did she stand?
Bryan took her hands and pulled her gently to her feet. 'I don't want to talk about Devon, I want to talk about you and me'.
Worry prickled down Sharon's spine. She felt unsure of herself, certain that he was going to ask her to leave.
'There is nothing to talk about. I want to go back to London alone', she said quickly. She would go of her own free will before he asked her to go
Bryan shook his head, his face hard. 'I meant what I said the other time. I won't let you go!'
'No?' She smiled at him provocatively, seeing something in his eyes that made her heart stop beating.
'No'. He tilted her face with his hands, his eyes dark and sure and possessive. 'I love you', he murmured raggedly. 'I loved you from the moment I first saw you'. He bent down, kissing her mouth hungrily. 'Right from the first time that I saw you, I had to pretend to be cold because you always looked like the ice queen herself. I feared your rejection. it your beauty inside and out took my breath away. I knew then that you were the one that I had been waiting for all my life and that I was never going to let you go'. He kissed her again and groaned. 'It left me half dead when we parted. I made everybody's life a bloody misery'.
Sharon laughed. 'I know, Brenda told me'.
He smiled, smoothing her hair back from her temples.'I suspected that she was up to something. I seem to be fighting for you all the days of my life. I thought that if we came here, I'd have you all to myself but you did not make that my easier did you? Had it not been for my precious daughter and how I buried myself in my work, I would have died of loneliness. Even as it was, I knew I could endure it no longer because it started telling on me', he drew breath harshly. 'Tell me you love me, Sharon'.
'I told you', she whispered, trembling, her heart soaring with happiness. He loved her. He had always loved her.
'In the heat of passion, yes. And you have hated admitting it'.
'I hate myself', she corrected gently. 'Because I wanted you so much, despite -- well despite everything'. She touched his wide shoulders and felt the muscles clenching beneath his hands.
'Tell me again ', he said yet again.
She reached up ND kissed his strong sensual mouth. 'I love you, Bryan', she whispered into his throat. 'I loved you right from the start, even though I was too foolish and I never ever stopped. I'll always love you----'.
The words stopped as he took her mouth, his arms tight, holding her against the hard strength of his body until she was dizzy with need for him.
When he lifted his head, she swayed against him, her body aching.
'How do you feel about the baby?' he murmured kissing her face.
'Oh, I'm m glad, so glad', she admitted smiling. 'Even when I first found out, I wanted it, because it was a part of you and though it was not the first one I had had for you. It felt like I was gathering souvenirs from every liaison I had with you. Oh, Bryan, I have been so jealous of Devon, of Annabelle Cole, of everybody you smiled at'.
His powerful arms tightened round her. 'It's always been you my love', he said deeply. 'There hasn't been a single second when I haven't thought about you. I tried to forget about you. I did see other women, but it was pointless. I didn't want them, I wanted you ---- so much, I thought that I was going mad sometimes'. He smiled wryly. 'I didn't mean to rush things when we met again, but I couldn't help myself. I bought a flat for Brenda and Devon so that the house would be ours. I had it all planned. I was crazy with jealousy about Gerhard and I couldn't risk losing you again. When I found out from Gabriel that you were pregnant, I grabbed my chance with both hands'.
Sharon laughed. 'How unscrupulous. I thought you were only interested in the baby'.
'It was you', he admitted huskily. 'God, how I love you'.
Sharon kissed his tanned throat. There was so much to say. So much to catch up on from three wasted years but right now, she didn't want to talk and when she looked into the burning depths of his eyes, she found that he didn't want to either.
'I want you', she said provocatively. 'Please take me to bed'.
Without a word, he lifted her into his strong arms and carried her inside, upstairs to his bed. He undressed her reining his deep impatience, his hands sure and gentle, his black eyes holding hers in the dim light.
'You are so beautiful', he murmured, be ding his dark head to kiss her breasts.
'So are you', she moaned as he touched her, knowing that she would give now without reserve, everything he had been holding back. 'Ah Bryan, I love you'.
'Show me', he said with quiet command.
She laughed, happiness filling her, setting her free.
'I will', she promised tenderly and secure in his love, she began to kiss his mouth.
He took over from her and the passion grew to a fever pitch. Sharon thought of all she had been missing for the past three years, little wonder it had hurt Bryan to talk about those three years because he felt that they had just wasted those years for nothing, for no just cause.
She lost ability of any coherent thought. She just wanted to give as much pleasure as she was receiving and soon no other person existed in the world but the both of them and their delicious coupling, the room and the bed.
Afterwards, he held her tight against himself. Happy that he now had had her fully back to himself and with the package of his unborn child and a daughter who loved him.
He had known that Sharon loved him though she had not wanted to admit it and that was why it had angered him that she had stubbornly kept away from him, resisted his you touch as though she abhorred his touch and closeness but thank goodness that it was all alright now.
He watched her as she slept. He enjoyed watching her sleep. She looked like a little innocent baby when she slept.
He eased himself away from the bed and tip toed into his daughter's room and found that she was fast asleep as well. He knew Ana who had grown so close and friendly with her had given her enough to eat. And she was so wise that she did not disturb her parents over much as though she wanted for them to grow closer and didn't want to interrupt the process.
Bryan smiled at the thoughts spiraling in his head about his sensible daughter, gently shut the door and left after giving her a peck on her cheek. He could not be happier.
