Chapter 26: Chapter 26
It didn’t take long for Anthon to come up with a solution to his plan as he realized that he can make the concoction to give Zurier a stroke that should make him lose his memory for good. After Anthon is ready with his concoction he went to go see Zurier that is still in a straight jacket. Normally all the rooms in the Psychiatric ward have surveillance and Anthon knew this, so instead of injecting Zurier himself he just left it on the table with a different logo on for the nurse to administer. Two hours later Zurier is rushed past Anthon and Gabriella that is standing in the hallway, to the theatre.
“Oh, no!” Gabriella could feel the stab in her heart and the tears build up in her eyes.
Anthon noticed it and anger he didn’t know existed, risen up in him, “I told you he is not well. Don’t worry, don’t worry, he is a fighter.”
Gabriella turned away from Anthon and walked away before he could see the tears running down her face.
Gabriella waited impatiently outside the theatre for an update on Zurier.
“It is still going to take a while, I just got off the phone with one of the nurses inside and the surgeon is trying to stop a brain bleed. Come to the on-call room and take a little bit of a break,” Anthon pulls Gabriella to her feet against her will.
Gabriella can feel herself walking but she is not completely present. Anthon feels a bit annoyed that Gabriella is so fond of Zurier. ‘How am I ever going to get her into bed if she is stuck on someone else,’ he thinks to himself as he closes the on-call door behind him.
Later that day Anthon got notified that Zurier is out of the theatre and back in his hospital room. Anthon thought perhaps he can win Gabriella over by pretending to care about Zurier as much as she does and not to show his annoyance with her right now.
“Gabriella, my sweet love, Zurier is out of the theatre,” Anthon gently wakes her up.
Much to his annoyance, Gabriella jumped out of bed. “Which room?”
“Come, I will show you but know that he is in a coma, presumed brain dead.”
“What?! No!” Gabriella starts crying.
Anthon embraces her, “hush now.”
Anthon walks Gabriella to Zurier’s room.
Gabriella slips her hand into Zuriers expecting the machines to go crazy like they use to when she touched him, but the machines just steadily kept their beep.
Gabriella let go and left his room, “I need some time off.”
“Don’t worry about it, I will make the arrangements,” Anthon assures her, wondering if she would react the same way if it was him lying there.
Once Gabriella is out of sight Anthon quickly changed the wires from the brain-dead patient next to Zurier back.
‘That is so strange, is Zurier awake but just unbale to respond?’ Anthon wonders as the machines are going crazy.
Anthon takes the syringe filled with calming medication from his pocket and gives Zurier a shot so that his machine will quiet down.
Later that evening Anthon made his way over to Gabriella with takeouts, “thought you might be hungry.”
“Not really,” Gabriella with bloodshot eyes and whisky on her breath says as she leaves the door open for Anthon to make his own way into her house.
“You will have to be stronger than this if you want to survive in this industry,” Anthon tries to embrace her, but she pulls away.
Gabriella pours herself another drink before going up to her room, ignoring Anthon. Anthon takes out his wallet and checks if he has any rubies and smiled as he found two in his wallet.
Anthon crush one of them and mixed it with a triple whisky, making sure that this time she won’t notice the difference, ‘she is so drunk already, surely it is not even needed.’
Anthon waited thirty minutes before going up to her room, “poured you another.”
Gabriella takes the glass and drinks half of it up, sitting at her dressing table looking at her messy self in the mirror.
“Why don’t you come to lie down?” Anthon tries to coach her to her bed.
Gabriella manages to stand up and before making her way to her bed gulps down the rest of the glass, “another please.”
“Sure,” Anthon says taking the glass from her and puts it down on her dresser just in time to catch a falling Gabriella.
Gabriella laughs and cries at the same time. Anthon lies her down on her bed. Gabriella pulls him closer by his shirt and kisses him deeply.
Anthon position himself on top of her. Gabriella is not sure what she wants but knows that right now she wants to pain to go away.
Using one hand to support himself and the other to loosen his belt and pants he continues to kiss her deeply.
Gabriella starts to feel strange, “wait, wait, I had too much to drink.”
“Don’t worry about it, I will make you feel good.”
“No, wait, I am not ready. I don’t want this,” Gabriella barely gets out, her words slurring.
“You will be ready in a moment,” Anthon smiles with an evil look on his face.
Gabriella can feel herself slipping away as Anthon undresses her, “no, wait.”
“Just relax,” Anthon coaches her.
Gabriella finally calmed down and feeling defeated she stopped struggling. With her eyes open and on Anthon’s eyes one would think it is a consented love-making situation.
Anthon loved the fact that her eyes are open and on him, he wanted her to know exactly what he is doing and there is not a thing she can do about it.
Gabriella is not sure if it is just her ears ringing but she hears the familiar sound of her front doorbell. Anthon stops what he is doing and freeze, listening. The doorbell rings again and again and Anthon hopes that whoever it is will just go away, but they don’t as the doorbell rings again and again.
“I know you are home, your car is in the drive-way Anthon,” Alex yells out.
“Dammit,” Anthon says in anger slamming the bed next to Gabriella’s face.
“Ah, babe, why are you crying?” Anthon says as he notices the tears rolling down at the side of her face. Anthon licks it up, just like he did the night he raped her.
