“Are you serious?” Anthon asked, hardly believing her words.
“Yes, I am sorry, I need more time,” Gabriella moves away from him and wraps her arms around herself.
“Babe, it is ok, calm down,” Anthon rubs the side of her arms holding back his frustration.
“Thank you for understanding,” Gabriella says, allowing Anthon to pull her into an embrace.
Anthon holds her in his arms making sure his manhood does not touch her, “do you want to talk about it?”
“No, I don’t think the world's talking will help.”
“Relax, let me make you a cup of tea or would you like something stronger to calm your nerves?”
“Yes, there is some whisky in the top cupboard on the left,” Gabriella says.
“Sit down and take deep breaths,” Anthon instructs her.
Anthon went to the kitchen to get her a glass of Whisky. As he pours her a drink a takes a tablet out of his pocket and crushes it a bit and mix it into her Whisky.
‘I really hoped that it wouldn’t come to this, but I am done waiting,’ he thinks as he waits for the crushed tablet to resolve into the Whisky.
Anthon inspects the Whisky and decides that it is ready. He makes his way to the living room where Gabriella is sitting, “here we go.”
Gabriella takes a small sip, “thank you.” Gabriella is relieved to see that he didn’t pour himself a drink.
Anthon waits for her to drink more but she just sits with the glass, “drink up, it will calm you down.”
Gabriella takes another small sip, “thank you for understanding and being so patient with me.”
“This actually tastes off,” Gabriella holds the glass to the light. Anthon quickly takes the glass from her scared that she will notice the slight change of color.
“Must be expired,” Anthon says as he walks to the kitchen to throw the glass of Whisky, cursing himself in silence.
“Would you like me to stay the night?” Anthon asks, already knowing the answer.
“No, I am fine. I will see you tomorrow at work,” Gabriella stood up and gave him a hug goodnight which Anthon sealed with a kiss.
Gabriella is relieved to be rid of Anthon and locks her front door. After taking a relaxing bath she realized that it is only eight in the evening. She works on her program for Zurier and making a few tweaks to it. She got finished sooner than expected.
‘Guess it will be an early night for me,’ she thought as she goes up the stairs. After tossing and turning for thirty minutes she got out of bed and stalked Alex online. Gabriella knew that he is the author of the famous News Site and decided to check what he is writing these days. After reading stories about Zurier and the quest to find his relative she searches if he wrote about her incident since he wrote about Zurier’s. Gabriella is surprised to find that he wrote two pieces on her; the evening of the attack and the day she got discharged from the hospital.
Gabriella decided to get dressed and visit Zurier, ‘wonder if he got set up in a double room by now.’
Gabriella took a Uber to the hospital and went straight to Zurier’s room but he is not there, ‘great, they must have moved him then.’ After checking with the nurses she found Zurier’s room. Even though Zurier is in a double room the other bed is vacant, however, Zurier is not alone. Alex is with Zurier.
‘I suppose it is good that Zurier has a friend but does it have to be Two-Timer-Alex,’ Gabriella thought about walking away.
“Gabriella! What are you doing here so late?” Zurier calls out to Gabriella after he felt her presence. Alex looked around to see the door.
“Good evening,” Alex greeted her in a brushed-off tone before facing Zurier again.
“I forgot something, just came to collect it,” Gabriella lies.
“Well, come join us for a bit,” Zurier invites her in.
“Actually, I am just leaving,” Alex says as he didn’t want to be in the presence of a Two-Timer.
“Are you sure? Ok then, see you tomorrow then,” Zurier greets Alex.
Gabriella stood around waiting for Alex to take his leave and as soon as he did she sat down, “sorry for chasing your friend away.”
“Don’t worry about it, he must be in a bad mood,” Zurier says with a big smile on his face happy to have Gabriella as company.
“Does he spend a lot of time with you?” Gabriella asks curiously.
“Come to think of it, yes. Normally every morning and every evening, every day. We are friends. He is like my only friend,” Zurier points out.
“I would like to be your friend as well,” Gabriella reaches out without thinking and touches Zuriers hand making a bolt of electricity shoot through both of them. She quickly takes away her hand, “sorry.”
Zurier laughs and that made Gabriella laugh as well. After a bit of small talk, Gabriella showed Zurier how to use his new phone that Alex got him. Gabriella stayed in her chair watching Zurier’s face as he figures out the phone. After a while, she noticed that he fell asleep with the phone in his hand. She put the phone next to his bed on the medical side table and just stood there for a moment looking at him. Gabriella wanted to touch his face but is scared that she will send electricity through him and wake him up, so she just stared at his angelic face.
Over the next couple of weeks, Gabriella spent more and more time with Zurier finding excuses to get away from Anthon, not really knowing how to break up with him as she finds herself in love with Zurier. He made great progress and is able to walk with a walker and Gabriella knew that it won't be long before he can progress to crutches. Today Zurier will be discharged from the hospital and because no family members came forward and he still does not have his memory back, Alex offered for him to stay with him.
