Chapter 67: Chapter 67
"Sir, I've arranged the documents and gone through the details. It's just for you to give your approval by signing them," Amy said to Liam as she placed some files on his desk.
He took them and began signing each of them. She was surprised. "Are you not going to go through them once more, to be sure I didn't make any mistake?" She asked him.
"I trust your judgement, Amy. I don't need to cross check. You ain't gonna ruin my company," Liam replied as he kept signing.
"You're not scared I would want to trick you into signing your company to me?" She teased.
He raised a cocky brow. "Now, won't I gladly give it to you?" He asked and then leaned back in his seat as Amy looked perplexed. "As long as it will make you mine," he added.
Waves of heat washed through Amy. Her heart raced and she was confused on why his words had such an effect on her. She swallowed as the intensity of his gaze made her feel tensed.
He chuckled. "Relax, woman, I thought we were both teasing each other,"
"Um, are you done with the signing?" She asked, changing the subject.
He nodded.
"I wanted to ask, since that's all for today, May I leave for home early?" She asked.
He didn't want to let her out of his sight, but seeing her eagerly looking at her watch swiftly, he knew he couldn't hold her back. "That's alright," he said.
She flashed a nervous smile. "Thank you. See you tomorrow," she replied and he nodded, with that she left the office and Liam began to wonder if she had plans with Cole that night. His mind was perturbed as he thought of calling Cole. He picked up his phone and then dropped it. Before he knew it, his phone was back in his hand, dialling his best friend's number.

Cole stood before his father and once again, he could see that disappointment in his eyes, the same very one he saw seven years ago.
"You hid such a huge thing from me. Did you think I would never find out?" Mr Darrel asked with fiery eyes at his son.
"I was going to tell you," was Cole's response.
"When? When I die?!" He demanded as he fumed around. "Instead of telling me of my grandson, you've been frolicking the streets of Louisiana with that.. that woman!"
Cole stared hard at his father. "I will not stand here and watch you regard her in that manner,"
Mr Darrel narrowed his eyes, although he was surprised by the steadfast tone of Cole. He shook a finger at Cole. "You rascal. Do you know what it took me to contain those videos from spreading further?!" He demanded and Cole just stared at him.
"Are you having feelings for her?" He asked, narrowing his eyes.
"I'm in love with her," Cole replied with all seriousness.
"Really? What do you know about love?! Who is Shantel to you then? How can you be in love with another woman when you have a fiancee?!"
"Fiancee? That's you going too far, father," Cole replied, despite him being confused about what his father said.
"Shantel called me and told me you were cheating on her before I saw those videos," Mr Darrel began to say. Cole cussed in his mind. He should have known the cunning bitch was involved in this. "I have decided that you too should get married," he finished off.
Cole was shocked by his father's words. "You can't control my life, father. You controlled it seven years ago and the baby that made me stick to Shantel didn't even make it alive! I still stuck with her because of her trauma after that miscarriage!"
"Keep sticking with her!"
"She's not my mate! I have found my mate!" Cole yelled back at his father.
Mr Darrel was taken aback. "Is it.. is she.." he was unable to speak.
"Yes, Amy's my mate and the mother of my child," Cole responded, staring at his father.

Amy inhaled deeply inside the taxi as her mind still flashed back to what Liam had said to her. She realized that it had affected this much because she used to have a crush on him back in high school before deciding to date Jeremy. The dork head. Thinking of Jeremy, she wondered how he was. Since she left the pack, she wanted nothing to do with pack, but Kayla updated her sometimes.
She knew he was now the alpha of the pack, but recent rumors was that he was suddenly unavailable. Also, he had a Luna now. The girl he cheated on her with. Good for him. She thought.
She arrived home and after paying the taxi man, she walked up the porch and into the house. "Tris," she called her sweetly, but there was no response. She was about to go to his room when Kayla walked out of hers.
"Don't bother. He's asleep. He had a hectic day," she said.
"Oh," Amy sighed, turning over to Kayla. "I had no idea you were home,"
"Yeah," Kayla sighed.
" Thank goodness school would be out of session this week. He must be pretty burnt out,"
Kayla nodded. Amy noticed her friend was not as lively as before. "Are you alright?" She asked.
Was Amy's expression, Kayla knew she wasn't aware of the trending news. She contemplated on telling her friend or not. She knew her heart would break, but she had no choice. "I need to show you something. Come with me," she said, going into her room.
Confused and curious, Amy followed her. They got into her room. "Sit," Kayla made Amy sit and it scared her.
Amy sat down.
"Promise me that after I show you this, you won't cry and brood. I hate seeing you that way," Kayla said.
"You're scaring me, Kayla. Talk to me, "
"Promise me," she insisted.
"Okay, I'll try," Amy said and Kayla reluctantly handed her phone to her. The video of Shantel's interview on the screen. As Amy kept watching, her eyes watered.
"I told you I didn't trust him," Kayla said, not noticing Amy's eyes.

Mr Darrel had always thought Shantel was Cole's mate, and when Cole had shown that they weren't mates, he had thought Cole was destined to be alone without a mate.
"For how long?" He asked.
"Since the night I met her at Liam's party, seven years ago," Cole replied.
Mr Darrel was forced to sit. He was lost in thoughts. "You shouldn't be living without your mate by your side and mostly, my grandson should not be living outside the pack house and without an acknowledgement,"
Cole was stunned. He was expecting his father to keep on scolding him and not accepting Amy. Not that it was that clear he was, but.. "Shantel made a public video announcing you both officially, and.. "
"What?" Cole exclaimed in shock.
"It's everywhere on the E news and the media, including your memories with each other. I wonder if your mate has seen it," Mr Darrel replied. Cole freighted at the thought of Amy seeing Shantel's public announcement.
"Excuse me, father. I'll be back," Cole said as he excused himself. He pulled out his phone from his pocket and saw that Liam had been calling him, but his phone was on silent.
He was just about to call him when Liam's call came through. He picked immediately. "Man, you called at the right time. We need to talk,"
