Chapter 59: Chapter 59
Three days had passed, and Amy didn't have tears to shed anymore.
She was tired of thinking. She was tired of stressing. She didn't know what to do anymore. At this point, she felt like dying.
What was the point of living? What was there to live for, when Cole had finally taken away her reason for living?
Kayla was right after all. She couldn't trust Cole. She shouldn't have let him into her life in the first place. She should've shunned every connection with Cole after the court hearing.
She felt wasted. If there was a way she could painlessly end her life, she wouldn't think twice about it.
A knock on the door alerted Kayla.
"I'll go get it", she said with a stray of hope.
Kayla was the only person who had hope. Hope that somehow, they were going to show up at the door.
Amy on the other hand, wasn't moved one bit by the knock on the door. It could be the police visiting them for their upteenth interrogation, or the neighbors trying to sympathize with them.
Or maybe it was Liam.
Whoever it was, she didn't want to see the person-
"It's them!! It's Cole and Tris!! They're here!!"
It felt as though new energy surged through Amy's system, at the mention of her son's name.
"Don't play with me, Kayla", she muttered as she ran to the door.
Her eyes widened in sheer shock at the sight of her pale son, bleeding at one side of his head.
"Tris!! You're alive!!!" She shrieked in joy and relief as she held him tight, tears falling down her eyes.
She'd almost given up all hope on getting to see her son. Oh, how happy she was to be able to hold him close to him. She clung to him like he was going to disappear again.
"Take him inside, Kayla", she handed him over to Kayla, who took him into the house.
She faced Cole, and her dark eyes shot poisonous arrows into Cole's body.
"Amy, I can explain-"
Before he could complete his sentence, she landed a hot slap on his cheek.
"I don't ever want to see you near my son, or around this house. I don't ever want to see you around me. Stay away from Tris and I, or I'll kill you", she threatened before storming into the house.
"Amy, please listen to me-", he tried to follow her into the house, but Kayla gently pushed him out of the house.
"I don't think this would be a good time to engage her in a conversation. You can come back later, but for now, please leave", she pleaded and entered inside.

A week had gone by, Amy was mentally stable enough to resume working at Liam's company.
Liam welcomed her with opened arms, happy that she had her son back.
It was finally time for her to go home. She packed her bags, but she suddenly felt pressed.
She kept her bags and walked to the ladies to have a leak. She was done with what was doing, and she needed a tissue. It wasn't until then that she dream n't there wasn't any tissue in the toilet.
"Shit", she cussed.
She heard a noise in the bathroom next room to her, so she decided to ask for help.
"Ma'am, do you by chance have some toilet paper?" She asked.
She didn't get reply, but the person passed sone tissue under the demarcation.
"Thank you," she said in appreciation.
She used the tissue and got out of the toilet.
She walked to the wash basin and began washing her hands.
She heard the person flush and exit the toilet. She looked up at the mirror.
"Goodness!!" She jerked in fear at the reflection of Cole at the mirror.
She turned to the be sure she wasn't dreaming, and she was shocked to see him standing there.
"What are you doing here?!" She questioned.
"We need to talk", he replied.
"In the female toilet?" She inquired with a raised brow.
"Well, you wouldn't pick up my calls and reply to my texts. You left me with no other option", he said.
"We don't have anything to talk about", she said and took some wipes to dry her hands.
"Amy, please hear me out-" Cole began to plead calmly.
"I'm not going to hear anything you say, Cole! Kayla warned me against you, but I didn't listen. I let you in my life, and you think you had the right to walk off with my son!"
"Amy, please-" he reiterated.
"Leave me alone", she said, heading out of the toilet.
"Tris was being bullied in school!" Cole finally blurted out.
Amy halted to a stop.
She slowly turned to Cole. "What did you say?" She asked in disbelief.
"Tris was being bullied in his school," he reiterated.
"That's not true. How did you come about that hypothesis?" She folded her arms.
"It's not a hypothesis, Amy. Tris told me himself", he said.
"You know kids can anything they want to say-"
"I saw the marks on his skin, Amy! The day I showed up for his PTA, I saw a mark on his hand. It was a dried cut. I asked him what happened, and he told me his bullies did it to him for not helping them completing their homeworks", Cole tried to explain.
"But-"
"You don't believe me? This is not the first time. The day you got a call from his school, saying he was involved in a fight, it was the same thing that happened. I was the one who fought for him", he pointed out.
"Wait... Don't tell me you were the janitor who shoved mops in their mouths-"
"It was me and I did it because they were bullying him in my presence. They poured away the food I got him, and they were about to jump on him for not doing their homeworks", he explained further.
Amy didn't know what to say...
Was this true?
Had her son been bullied for only God knows how long?
"I won't believe you until I get home and speak with him", Amy stood her ground.
***
"Are you kidding me?!! Why didn't you say anything?!!" She exclaimed when he confirmed it.
"You were already too busy trying to provide food for me. I didn't want to disturb you with my issues", he explained sadly.
"Oh my gosh! I feel like a bad mum! I failed!"
"Now's not the time to beat yourself up, Amy. I have an idea," Cole said and Amy stared at him, wondering what he was thinking now.
