Chapter 69: Chapter 69

We followed him in and an unexpected sight met us, Alpha Wyatt was lying on the ground as he held onto his abdomen that was bleeding. He looked relieved when he saw us. I felt shocked and worried at seeing him like that. He was an Alpha and a Lycan, yet Alpha Ross wounded him.

"Clause! You came just in time! Alpha Ross just escaped through that door!"

"Oh no, we can't let him escape!" I said as I ran over to the door. Alpha Sloan, Alpha Nathan, Alpha Mason, Luna Kat, Luna Kasey and my mate, Alpha Clause fell into step with me. We reached the door and opened it slightly. Alpha Ross was standing there in the middle of the kitchen looking at us.

"I've been waiting for you all." He said before he turned around and started running back outside. I quickly ran after him. My wolf wanted to chase him down like a wild dog, but I knew that would be foolish.

Alpha Clause jumped out of the window as Alpha Ross was quick enough to run out through the front door and started chasing Alpha Ross across the grass field. I could hear them both yelling as they chased each other around. The sky was turning dark and clouds were starting to form. It wasn't long until they were both out of sight.

After a few moments, Alpha Clause came into view, looking frustrated and I breathed out a sigh of relief, "He has run away again, what do we do now?" I asked him.

"If I had to guess, I would say that Alpha Ross is going to head back to his territory. He wouldn't be able to stay in this pack anymore since we're here to fight him for it, he'll most likely run back home. If he does come here, we will know because us Alphas will be able to sense him coming."

"Great, thank you, everyone. You saved us." Luna Ashley said with a forced smile as she stepped out of the house and looked around at us.

Alpha Clause nodded in response. "I'm glad I could help."

"Yeah, don't worry." Alpha Mason added with a nod.

"Exactly, you're safe now." Alpha Nathan said while Luna Kasey stepped closer to her and patted her shoulder. Luna Kat gave her a tight look since they weren't exactly friends while Alpha Sloan stayed quiet and I nodded.

When we got back to their pack house, Alpha Clause told me to wait for him while he went to go talk to Alpha Wyatt. When he returned, he told me that Alpha Wyatt was doing much better. He still needed some rest, but he wasn't dying or anything like that. He also told me that he should be able to get up and walk tomorrow.

"That's a relief, Clause." I commented as I smiled.

"I know, anyway, I need to talk to Alpha Mason now. I'll be right back, my Fay." Alpha Clause murmured as he caressed my face and gave me a faint smile before leaving the room.

I sat down on one of the chairs in the living area and thought about what he said. Maybe we shouldn't have let Alpha Ross get away so easily. He was the Alpha of the rogues that has been determined to take over the five packs and lead them to ruin. What if he tries to take over again? But then again, Alpha Clause was right. They would sense him coming and even if he did try. Besides, it would take him a while to reach us since we now have more patrol around our pack house now.

After a few minutes, I heard the sound of the living room door opening. I stood up and walked towards the hallway. I saw Alpha Clause walking towards me, "Hey, baby."

"Hi, honey. Where's Alpha Wyatt?"

"He's resting comfortably now. They're keeping him under observation for now."

"Do you think he'll be okay?"

"Yes, I'm sure he will be. He has three other warrior wolves who are stronger than he is and they can take care of him if he needs it."

"Thank goodness. I was really worried about him since he's one of our Five leaders."

"Don't worry. I'm sure he's going to be fine. Now, why don't you come in here and sit down with me?"

I nodded and followed him inside. We sat on the couch together and he placed his arm around my shoulders.

"I wish I was fast enough to capture Alpha Ross then this will all be over." he whispered in my ear.

"Me too." I leaned into him and rested my head against his chest.

"Anyway, I hate to tell you this, but we have a problem."

"What kind of problem?"

"The problem is that we won't be able to stay here for very long. There isn't enough food for the whole pack, let alone us, especially not for the pups. We have to go back to our pack today, right now, actually."

"You mean leave Alpha Wyatt and his pack behind? What if Alpha Ross attacks again?" I asked quietly.

"It's for the best, besides, we will leave some of our warriors with them. We have to find a way to feed everyone, and for that, we have to move somewhere else."

"But that would mean less protection for our pack. What if Alpha Ross attacks our pack again? Maybe that's what he wants. I think we should take Alpha Wyatt, Luna Ashley and their remaining pack members back with us to our pack until we're able to defeat Alpha Ross and his rogues." I reasoned with him, looking concerned.

"I agree that the best course of action is to take them back with us, and that we can't stay here for too long. We need to get somewhere safe where we can make sure Alpha Ross doesn't attack again. It might be safer to just move their entire pack away from here and to our pack house like you suggested."

I nodded and sighed heavily as I agreed, "Exactly, let's take them and leave now."

"Alright, let's go see Alpha Wyatt and ask him what he thinks."
