Chapter 51: Chapter 51
Two rogue wolves surrounded me as they growled menacingly, ready to pounce and kill at once. I growled back at them as I got ready to fight back, being alert as I kept them both in my line of sight. I wouldn't want them to get an advantage over me.
"I'm going to kill you!" I heard the brown wolf say through mind link as he laughed. I was a bit shocked since we didn't have mind link in our pack and I had no idea that the rogues could mind link us in wolf form to talk to us.
"You're going to die!" The white and black one added through mind link as he growled at me, barring his sharp teeth.
I growled as I grabbed him by his neck and threw him at the wolf who was coming by my side. As I fought with the two rogues, Alpha Clause fought with Alpha Ross in Lycan form while Alpha Nathan and Carter fought the other rogues. We all had our hands full. I was surprised at how strong the rogues were, but they only lasted a short time before collapsing, exhausted and wounded.
I looked around to see that Alpha Ross has escaped again along with some of the rogues. How did he even manage to escape again? It looked like some of the other rogues attacked Alpha Clause which gave him the chance to slip away. Alpha Clause grunted as he ran a hand through his dark hair, "Damn! The bastard has gotten away again!"
"At least we now knew all his hideouts." I muttered as I made my way to our traveling bag that Carter dropped at the door.
"Yeah, but what use is that now that he's on the run?" Alpha Nathan asked with a frown on his brows as he looked frustrated.
"There's still some use." I answered him as I grabbed the Mirror of Wisdom out of the traveling bag as I remembered how it could show anyone's location and answer many questions. There were many things we could do with it including finding out where Alpha Ross is headed.
"What are you doing?" Alpha Clause asked me as he walked towards me. He looked exhausted after his battle and I could understand why since we've been through a lot today.
I wished we could rest, but I just wanted us to defeat Alpha Ross and finally have peace. So I glanced at him as I replied, "We need to find Alpha Ross."
"Yes, but first, we should rest here for a moment, we're all tired." He said as he looked at everyone there and they nodded their heads.
"I know, but we need to get him before it's too late. You can stay here and rest, honey while I'll try to find him." I explained to him with a concerned look on my face as I touched his face lightly, my lips stretching into a reassuring smile.
He drew in a deep breath and let it out, his lips tugging up into a small smile, "Okay, baby, but I'm coming with you while Alpha Nathan and Carter rest."
"Great, I'm glad that you understand, honey." I replied to him as I moved my face closer to brush my lips against his cheek.
As I pulled back, I saw his smile widen and I looked back at the mirror as I held it up with both hands, "Where is Alpha Ross?"
The mirror changed from my reflection to a tunnel on the ground of the abandoned building that we were in. "This can't be right," he muttered as he looked back at me.
"No, this is correct," I replied to him. "It shows us where we are at right now and where Alpha Ross lives."
"But what if you go there and they attack you again? What do you do then since you're already exhausted and even more outnumbered?" Alpha Nathan asked us with a worried frown on his brows as he placed his hands on his waist.
"That's part of the reason we need you two to stay here while we meet up with Alpha Mason and the others." Alpha Clause answered him in a firm voice.
"What if the rogues come back while we're gone?" Carter asked us, looking concerned as he looked between Alpha Clause and I.
"Don't worry about that," Alpha Nathan answered him as he patted his arm and have him a smile. "I will take care of them if you're too tired to fight."
"Are you sure we should leave you on your own?" Alpha Clause asked, suddenly looking worried about them.
I nodded in agreement as I added, "If the rogues attack you again, you might not be able to handle them alone."
"You need to trust me, Clause and Luna Fay. I can handle them and if we can't then we will just run and meet up with you two underground." He replied to us, his smile widening into a reassuring one.
"All right, stay safe, Nathan and Carter." Alpha Clause said, hesitantly.
"Thanks, Clause." Alpha Nathan replied, looking pleased with his words while Carter answered him with a smile, "Thank you, Alpha."
My Alpha mate glanced at me as he said, "Let's check where Alpha Mason and Alpha Wyatt are with their groups."
"Sure, honey." I answered him as I raised the Mirror of Wisdom in my hands again.
"Where are Alpha Mason and Alpha Wyatt?" I asked the mirror.
It showed me the outside of the building as they approached the hole in the ground which meant that they have regrouped It seemed that they were about to follow Alpha Ross, maybe they saw him and his rogues go inside.
By the time that we reached our friends in the underground tunnel, I noticed that they were already fighting with a few more rogues. Alpha Clause and I jumped in to fight them. A kick came my way from the rogue in human form and I ducked then turned around swiftly, raising my leg to throw a backwards kick at his chest. He fell on the ground, clutching his chest as he groaned in pain.
