Chapter 35: Chapter 35

Bailey, Rachel and the rest of the pack walked us out, looking worried and down that we were going to the Forbidden Forest. Bailey looked nervous too since she would be left to run the pack with Rachel, but I trusted that she would do a great job. I spotted the cars of the Four Alphas driving into our pack house's mansion. They parked a few feet away from us and all of them climbed out with their mate.

Alpha Nathan was the first to speak as he reached us, smiling as he looked over at Carter and Kaden then looked back at Alpha Clause, "You are bringing your warriors? I had no idea that we were bringing them, I would have brought one of mine too."

"I decided to bring them before I knew that you were all coming along, but yeah, you can bring your warrior along if you want." Alpha Clause answered him as he returned his smile.

"Nah, I think we are good." He replied just as the other Alphas reached us.

"Hey, Fay and Alpha Clause. I heard about the rogue attack that Alpha Ross led to your pack yesterday, I hope you're all okay." Luna Kasey said as she looked between Alpha Clause and I with concern.

"Yeah, just a few were injured, but they're all healed up now." I answered her with a grateful smile at her care.

Alpha Clause nodded at her as he replied, "Yeah it is as Fay said, thanks for your concern."

"Alpha Clause, we're glad that you found out Alpha Ross's next plan. Now, we know what his goal is in attacking your pack." Alpha Mason said as he looked relieved.

"I'm very glad that we found out in time too, but I can't take all the credit. Fay found the letter which Zach and Kaden interpreted." He replied to him as he looked at me with a proud look in his eyes.

"Well, we're still glad for all of your help since we can now defeat him smoothly as soon as we find the Mirror of Wisdom." Alpha Sloan added with a firm nod, looking glad for our help.

"But wait, what if he attacks our packs and takes over while we are away trying to find the Mirror of Wisdom?" Alpha Wyatt asked as a small frown fell on his brows.

Ashley nodded as she held onto her Aloha mate's arm, "Exactly, what if this is what he wants us to be doing just to leave our packs unguarded so that he could take over?"

Even though I didn't like Ashley and I knew that she was cunning, I had to agree that it was a good theory and that might also be part of Alpha Ross's plan. However, my Alpha mate didn't think so as he shook his head, "Even if he attacks our packs, our Betas, warriors and all pack members are there to protect them, so there is no way that he can succeed.

This is why I wanted only a few of us to go and why I took only one warrior with me. Kaden is coming along because he's one of Alpha Ross's rogues and we might need his help if Alpha Ross decides to attack us on our journey."

The Alpha's and Luna's nodded in agreement as Alpha Mason commented, "That makes a lot of sense and since we already ordered our Betas and warriors to protect our packs then we should trust that they would do just that."

A sour look showed on Ashley's face like she didn't like that we opposed her and her mate's theory. That made me realize that it was her plan to have them or all of us quit the journey since we would be afraid that Alpha Ross would attack our packs. My thoughts was proven true further more as she protested, "But why can't we send our warriors to go through the Forbidden Forest and the Lake of Eversea to retrieve the mirror instead of us?"

Alpha Clause shook his head at her as a small frown fell on her brows and he explained in a form voice, "No one is known to survive the Forbidden Forest, that's why no one has ever retrieved the Mirror of Wisdom before. We, as Alphas and Lunas going have a better chance of survival than our warriors or ordinary pack members."

She forced a smile on her lips as she let go if Alpha Wyatt's arm and crossed her arms against her chest, "Fine, I guess we would have to go."

"Awe, don't feel scared that we might not survive, Luna Ashley, we have our hunk of Alpha mates to protect us." Luna Hailey said as she patted Luna Ashley's arm, but she quickly withdrew her arm at Luna Ashley's icy gaze being thrown her way.

"I'm not sacred, Luna Hailey!" She growled through clenched teeth as she looked away. Alpha Wyatt only gave her a weird look, not trying to comfort her one bit which confirmed my thought on the day of the Fall ball that there was something wrong with their relationship.

"Fine, whatever you say." Luna Hailey muttered as she also looked away.

Alpha Sloan wrapped his arm around her shoulders as he said with a grin, "That's right, babe, we are going to protect you."

Luna Kat laughed as she shook her head, "I don't need my Mason to protect me even though I know that he is more than capable of doing so, but I am a strong and independent shewolf."

We all looked at her, the men with amused looks on their faces and us, the women with large smiles except for Luna Ashley and Luna Hailey. Alpha Mason grinned as he took his Luna mate's hand in his and interlaced their fingers, "That's right, sweetheart, you are a very strong shewolf and I love that about you."

She giggled at him and Luna Hailey rolled her eyes while Luna Ashley only frowned even more. I couldn't help, but grin as I glanced at Alpha Clause, "I hope you know that I'm also a very independent woman."
