Chapter 31: Chapter 31

"Carter, you will be staying here and taking care of the pack with Rachel before we come back from hunting down Alpha Ross." He ordered Carter as he turned to him.

"Yes, Alpha!" He answered him with firm determination as well. It seemed that he has become a lot more serious about following Alpha Clause's orders and taking care of the pack.

Alpha Clause nodded at him before looking around at everyone as he started mentioning names, "Dylan, Cyrus, Ashton, Drake, Trina, Ingrid, Hunter and Tommy, you are coming with us to find Alpha Ross's cottage. Get ready for another fight because they might be expecting us once they realize that two of their rogues are missing."

"Yes, Alpha!" The chorused in unison.

"I want to go with you too." I said to him as I placed my hand on his arm, drawing his attention to me.

Alpha Clause looked like he wanted to protest before he finally nodded as he replied, "Fine even though I don't want you getting hurt, but I know that you will persist on going."

My lips stretched into a small smile, feeling relieved for his approval even though I would go with him whether he agreed or not. "Thanks for understanding, honey."

His lips twitched up into a smile before he turned to the ones he called their names out, "Let's get going before they plan something else."

"Yes, Alpha!" They replied together and followed him as he started towards the back door.

He took my hand, interlacing our fingers as he passed me and I walked with him out of the door while Bailey gripped the arm of the brown haired guy as she pushed him forward since he would be leading us. We speed walked to the cottage that he said Alpha Ross lived in which surprisingly, wasn't that far from our pack house. No wonder they attacked so easily.

Alpha Clause and I exchanged conversations here and there, but we were all tense about the situation, so our mind was just on finding Alpha Ross and ending these cruel attacks once and for all. As soon as we reached the cottage, I noticed that something was wrong. I glanced at Alpha Clause as I commented, "The door is opened and it looks empty."

"They must have thought ahead and left, but we should still look around to make sure that no one is here and if we can find any clues." He replied to me with a thoughtful look on his face as he stared at the cottage.

I nodded as I watched him step towards the cottage, "Sure, that's the best idea."

The others followed us in as we walked into the cottage. As expected, there was no one there, but it looked like they just left with how untify it looked. There was a plate with crumbs of food on the table beside the arm chair with a blanket roughly placed on the couch and the bedroom door was left open. Alpha Clause walked towards the bedroom to check it while my eyes fell on a paper under the plate of finished food.

I made my way to it and pulled the paper out from the plate then unfolded it to see that it was a handwritten letter. It seemed like a coded message as it had only six letters on it, C, S, W, N, M, R. My brows furrowed in confusion as I thought about it for a while. I looked over at the brown haired rogue as I asked him, "Hey, do you know what this means?"

I held up the letter for him to see as he nodded, "Yes and no. I don't know what he means in the message, but I know that he uses the Five Alpha's initials when he makes a plan on paper."

Understanding washed over me as my eyes widened in realization just as Alpha Clause walked back into the room. He took the letter from me and looked over it as he said, "So C stands for Clause, S stands for Sloan, W stands for Wyatt, N stands for Nathan, M stands for Mason, and R must stand for Ross."

"Yes, that's what I think." He replied, looking a bit nervous.

"Then what does he mean to say? Why did he arrange the letters like that? And who does he want to receive the letter?" I asked, feeling confused as I looked from Alpha Clause to the rogue.

He shook his head as he answered me, looking even more nervous, "I have no idea because he doesn't discuss things with me or the others, only his second in command. He only discusses a plan with us when he wants us to attack together, but not these types of plans."

"Alright, then why would he leave the letter under the plate when he knows that we will come for him?" I asked as my brows furrowed in thought again.

"He must have been expecting one of his captured rogues to be with us and I am guessing that's who he wants to see the message." Alpha Clause answered me as he looked back at the letter again.

"Then if this rogue doesn't know what the letter means then the other rogue back at the pack house must know since the letter is left for him." Bailey said what we were all thinking as realization showed on her face.

The rogue that she was holding looked surprised, but he nodded slowly, "That means that he must know the meaning."

My Alpha mate nodded in response and looked around as he said, "Exactly. Let's get back to the pack house as soon as possible so that we can interprete this message as soon as possible."

"Yes, Alpha!" They all chorused in reply.

He glanced at me, his alluring dark eyes captured my brown ones as he took my hand in his, interlacing our fingers, "Let's go, baby. You did a great job by finding that letter, it might be a clue that can lead us to where Alpha Ross has gone to hide or at least his next plan."
