Aires' POV

I sat alone in the basketball court, school hour is over but I am not in a hurry to go back home, I had told the principal that I needed to do extra time reading in the school, so she had permitted me to stay in the school after instructing me to make sure that I lock up when I am done, my mind is flooded with different questions, I lay alone in the basketball court and stared at the amulet in my hand, I wonder what it stands for, I placed it around my neck, then taking out the little penknife I had put earlier in my bag, I slit my palm and watched blood ooze out, it didn't heal on its own, slowly, I removed the amulet from around my neck and watched as the injury closed up and I didn't feel an ounce of pain anymore, what could this mean? Who gave me the amulet? I think it's time I talked to mother about how I got the amulet and to understand why my injuries would get healed on their own, I need to keep wearing the amulet, I do not want to get injured one day and everyone would be watching my injuries heal on their own, I shook my head, they would definitely see me as a freak, the thought of that left a bitter taste in my mouth, I felt like pouring water on my head, perhaps, it might help to cool it off, I stood up and ambled to the tap that was just behind the school library and immediately felt cooler after pouring the water on my head, I was about to leave when I heard a strange noise, what could that be? I stopped to listen and there it was again, who would still be in the school by this time? I walked towards the library, where I thought I heard the sound but I couldn't hear it anymore, perhaps, my mind is so frayed up right now that I have started to hear things when there's nothing to hear, I turned to leave and head the sound once more, someone was definitely hitting the library door, who could it be? I walked towards the library and saw it was closed with the key on the lock, seems like someone has been locked in, I carefully turned the lock and to my utmost surprise, I found Daisy, her eyes were puffy and red, I sign that she had been crying,

"What the hell are you doing here?" Instead of answering, she fell on me and wrapped her arms around me, sobbing uncontrollably

"Thank God you came, thank you...thank you" she cried and I paused for a moment before pushing her a little away from me,

"What the hell are you doing, locked up in there?"

"I...I...was cleaning the library when suddenly the door got shut, I don't know how but..."

"How stupid, you can't even take care of yourself" I gritted feeling a spurt of anger, sometimes, her naivety makes me want to spank her so hard,

"how could you allow yourself to get locked in, when will you stop being stupid?" I yelled, I was so livid with her, she drives me crazy when she allows people to walk over her, couldn't she at least always try to defend herself? She's so damn gullible,

"Don't you dare shout on me, Aires Garg Dawson" she fumed and I almost smiled, that's the fire I want in her but she's taking it out on the wrong person,

"Don't you think that you're channeling your frustration to the wrong person? Stop making yourself look pitiful" I scolded and she walked past me without answering,

"Where are you going?"

"Home of cause, where else?" She replied curtly and I fell in step beside her,

"I'll get my car so that I can drop you"

"I don't need a ride from you, thank you"

"You have no choice" without waiting for her reply, I quickly walked towards where I parked my car a few meters from her and brought it around, she made a step to bypass it like she didn't see it,

"I am not begging you to enter the car, I am ordering you, to get in the car now" she paused and stared at me,

"or what?"

"Or I'll spank you so hard" I gritted, running out of patience with her, coming down from the car, I got to where she is standing in two quick strides, grabbing her arms, I shove her into the car amidst her protest, she made to open the car door, "don't you dare" I clenched out, feeling exasperated, walking towards the driver side, I entered the car and drove off.

Daisy's POV

I couldn't think of anyone else that will lock me inside except Celine, my gut tells me that she was the one, I glanced at Aires'profile beside me, he looks aloof as usual, I wondered why he insisted on taking me home, perhaps, he wants to see Celine, besides, he didn't even ask me for directions, which could only mean that he already knew my new house, perhaps, he has even been here with Celine, my stomach twisted into knots at the prospect, he soon packed in front of my house and I sat down for a moment, dreading going into that house, my mum didn't even look for me when she hadn't seen me at home, I guess, she must be too busy with her husband, I almost spat at the word, 'husband'

"Well, why aren't you getting down," Aires asked and I jumped, whispering a terse 'thank you' I opened the car door, part of me thought that he would follow behind me as he was going to see Celine but as soon as I got down, he drove off, does that mean I was the person he came to drop? I shook my head, don't even think about it,

"There you are, young lady? My mother said as soon as I got in

"Well, that proves I was right all along, I told you that your daughter is out there having fun with some guy" Celine Chipped in and I glared at her,

"That's not true"

"Oh, yeah? Who's that guy then?" My mother asked angrily, cutting me short, heck, she doesn't even want to hear what I have to say, it's obvious she has already believed Celine over me,

"Whatever I have to say won't make a difference to you mum, you are clearly not ready to believe me"

"I believe what I just saw" she replied

"I don't care what you believe mum, you can...."

"Don't talk to your mother in that tone" Jeremy warned, his voice hard, cutting short whatever tirade of mine,

"You are going to apologize to the whole family for being out late without permission and keeping all of us worried," he said and I saw Celine smirk from the corner of my eyes, this was exactly what she wanted, to humiliate me in front of my family, humiliating me in school wasn't enough for her, I am sure she knows exactly why I came back late, she definitely has something to do with it,

"Well, young lady, do what he is asking you to do," my mother said, taking a stand with her husband, tears of anger and humiliation brimmed in my eyes, I felt like my heart was going to burst, but, yeah, they're gonna compel me to apologize when I didn't do anything wrong,

"Sorry mum" I swallowed past the bitterness in my throat, and turned to Jeremy,

"I am sorry", waving my hands in the air, I yelled "everyone, I am sorry" then turned to look at my mother straight in the eyes, trying my best to hold back my tears, "satisfied?" I asked, not sure how long I can hold back from breaking down in front of them, I ran to my room, and I didn't stop running until I had the door firmly shut behind me, only then did I allow myself to cry.

[Author's POV]

"Oh well, what a drama" Celine said before leaving for her room,

Jeremy looked at Lorna, "look, I know this union might be hard on your daughter but that doesn't give her the right to speak to you disrespectfully"

Lorna sighed, she don't understand what has gotten into Daisy, she seems more rebellious than ever,

"I am sorry about her behavior, I don't even know what to do anymore"

"No, no, no, you don't have to apologize on her behalf alright? I'm sorry for the way I scolded her but I needed to let her understand her place, that no matter what she's going through, she doesn't have to disrespect you, you're still her mother" Jeremy explained, placing a kiss on her forehead

"I understand my love, thank you very much for standing by me"

"We're in this together, we'll take care of our daughters together " Jeremy promised, "now, don't think too much about it, I promise you that she'll come around ", she laughed when he swept her off her feet, placing tiny kisses on her neck as he carried her to their room.

Celine rolled her eyes disgustingly as she stared at them from where she had been standing upstairs, "laugh all you can, enjoy your moments with my dad because the time will come, when you won't ever have such moments with him, I'll make sure you pay for ever daring to take my dad from me, slowly, I'll ruin your relationship first with your daughter and then with my father while playing the innocent good girl, I am an actress, no one can act better than me in this house, I'll ruin your life" she vowed silently before going off to her room and shutting the door behind her.
