Chapter 7: Chapter 7

Precious held unto the tray tightly as soon as her eyes came in contact with Bethel, Jeremiah and Daniel. Her heart began to race as she licked her bottom lips to ease her nervousness.

Does this mean her mother works for one of them? She thought, her eyes moving from one of them to another with her hands holding unto the tray tightly.

She never thought, nor has it crossed her mind that her mother could be working for one of her classmates. She looked at the room, four times bigger than her former self contained room. The walls are painted with white and gray. The room would obviously fit fifteen people and still have enough space to contain more.

There were five wardrobes placed close to one another just close to the window. There were also two large windows with curtains too and a balcony too.

Bethel raised his brows in confusion, staring at Precious who was busy admiring his room. what was she doing here? he thought. The last time he remembered, he sent a maid to get him drink back for him and not her.

"Precious!" Jeremiah called her name with a bit of amusement laced on his tone. He could kiss the floor and thank his stars for sending her here. She was the solution to his problem.

"You work here?" Bethel asked.

"Uhm..." she swallowed her spit, gathering courage to speak. "I..."

"You seem to like to stutter a lot because all the time I hear you speak, it's hard to get a line from you," Daniel spat out not looking at her but on his phone while speaking.

"Answer the question and get lost!" Bethel spat out.

His words hurt her, he was too rude. She never thought he was this harsh as he rarely spoke.

"Uhm...Aunt..." Bethel cuts her off.

"Get lost already and drop those down already idiot!" He spat out.

"You don't have to be insultive, you know?" Jeremiah told Bethel, earning a shrug from Bethel instead.

Precious dropped the tray on the table and turned to leave.

"Precious!" Jeremiah called her. She paused, her heart skipped. She didn't know what he wanted to say to her after all he was the one that put her in the mess she was in right now.

"Can I speak to you?" He asked her.

She heaved a sigh, she didn't want to speak to him but she wouldn't want to tell him that.

"I hate stupid girls the most!" Bethel muttered. Precious was irritating him and he hated when a girl acted sluggish and stuttered. Precious was offended by his word and she wanted to shun him but had the courage to do so.

"Get out of this place if you don't speak!" Bethel spat out.

"Bethel shut up!" Jeremiah told him. Bethel might be rude to others and shunned them off with no fight back but with his two friends, he couldn't.

They knew him as much as he knows himself and were the only ones strong enough to put him in his place.

Daniel laughed hysterically, "the girl no gree give up o!" He spat out, rushing over to where Bethel was and showing him a complete nude picture of Stella.

Bethel laughed, "The stretch marks look like whip marks unlike some girls where it looks like a fine line!" They both burst into laughter as Jeremiah shook his head.

"I will be back," he told them, leading Precious outside.

Jeremiah took a deep breath before he began talking to Precious, "I am so sorry for being irrational and I deeply regret my action, please forgive me!" He spat out with his both hands clasped.

Precious was confused. "You are sorry?" She scoffed. "You should have thought of that before jeopardizing my life!" She spat out, amazed by her voice. She couldn't believe she raised her voice.

Jeremiah rubbed his face with his palm ashamed by his attitude. "I'm so sorry and I deeply regret it, please forgive me. I know I can't make things right but I can do something about it, so please forgive me." He begged almost on his knees.

Precious saw the sincerity in his eyes and forgave him. "Thank you so much!" He jumped, taking his phone from his pocket and dialling Amanda's number but she didn't pick.

"Can you please call Amanda and tell her to forgive me already!" He dragged. It was hurting already.

Precious chuckled before nodding her head and telling him to expect her call this night.

Precious leaves Jeremiah as she makes her way into the kitchen only to bump into a hard figure.

"I'm so sorry," she was quick to say.

"Save your stinking breath! Are your eyes at the back of your head?!" He spat out.

"I said I am sorry," Precious repeated herself but that had riled him up. He was not used to being replied to but she did.

"Who the hell are you and do you know I could get you out of here in an instance?!" He asked.

"Take it easy on yourself boy!" Maggie spoke, earning a scowl from Bethel as soon as he faced her.

"If it isn't a clumsy expired lady? Shut up when I speak and you all are upon my mercy or else you'd be on the street begging for food ingrates!" He spat out.

"Omg. This is what condition has put me through!" Maggie muttered.

"You are really disrespectful and rude! You have no manner at all! Even if you pay them their salary, there is a way you talk to human beings who are the same as you!" Precious spat out. She was surprised by her outburst.

"Disrespectful you say?" He scoffed. "I'm not the same human being as you, you are all born in a poor and stinky background and I can't be the same human being as you people if I am above you all, even if you all are older than me!" He retorts. His words had aggravated Precious. How can someone be so rude and proud.

"Shut up! I might not be older than you but so many are and most of them are old enough to be your mother!" Precious voiced out releasing the beast in Bethel.
