Chapter 25: Chapter 25
Precious ran out of the room in tears with Bethel following on her trail.
"Precious!" He called her but she didn't stop. She was hurt. Dorathy was right, she didn't know her father. She wasn't rich, she knew no one.
Unlike Beauty and Dorathy who had their future all planned for them, hers was different, her aim was making it and helping her mother.
She was derailing from her original plans lately and Dorathy brought back those thoughts.
She hated life, she hated how unfair it was to her. She wished she had a different life with a father but she didn't know no one other than her mother and her mother never opened up much about her past.
Bethel stopped on his track as he let her off. His heart ached to see him in pain. He went back to his room, chasing Beauty and Blessing out of his house, never to see them again.
"That fat Panda ehn, Las Las na bricklayer she go marry," Jeremiah said through gritted teeth. No one liked Dorathy, she was fat as a pig and always wanting to fight because she was big.
Bethel went to look for Precious later in the night when he didn't hear from her. He wanted to console her.
Precious sat down in the garden looking up at the stars. It wasn't until three weeks ago before she discovered the garden. She admired Bethel, he had everything in his life, so she thought but Bethel lacked one very vital thing in his life that if he was given the opportunity to choose, he wouldn't miss that and that was his mother.
Suddenly, Precious felt a presence in the garden, she turned to look and discovered it was Bethel.
"Hi," He greeted sitting down beside her.
She said nothing. "Are you still angry?" He asked her.
"Where is your girlfriend?" She retorted by taking Bethel by shock.
"Girlfriend?" He asked, raising his brows.
"Oh, I mean to say..." She trailed off. "Your fiance right?" She asked sarcastically.
Bethel laughed, "I don't have a fiance and what's her name?" He asked.
Precious got angry, who was he fooling? "You are denying Beauty?" She scoffed, turning her face to the other side.
"Just stay away from me okay, and don't you dare try using me next time or else I will slap you again," she spat out.
"Use you? As how?" He asked.
"You are gonna deny, really? Your finance kissed you right in front of me!" She deadpanned.
"You kissed me one minute saying you like me while there is another in your life!" She spoke.
It clicked to Bethel, she was jealous. "I never used you and I was serious when I said I liked you." He spoke.
Precious scoffed, "Really? Two world's colliding, tell me when jupiter and Mars got close," she spoke sarcastically.
"This is what I like about you, somehow your anger Sparks feelings inside of me, making me smile and melt." He said.
"Sweet talker!" She spoke sarcastically.
"I'm serious, I asked you to give me a chance to prove it to you, I really like you Precious, more than you think." He said looking deep into her eyes as if trying to pass a message across.
He cupped her face, turning them to look at him. She didn't know how he managed to do so but she melted upon his touch.
She leaned into his touch, her heart was beating erratically, she didn't know why she always felt different around him, could she also be falling for him?
"How do I know you are not lieing, I mean look at me and look at you. You are rich while I am not. You have a family while I don't have one, I don't even know who my real father is," she cried. A tear rolled down her cheek.
"Dorathy was right, you all see me as a charity case right?" She asked.
"Shh!" Bethel placed his index finger on her mouth, cutting her off.
"There is no such thing as charity case without feelings attached." Bethel spoke.
"If I saw you as a charity case, I wouldn't do this," he leaned down and kissed her tears.
"Or this," he kissed her lips lightly. "I won't have affection for you as a man likes a woman. I'm falling for you Precious, slowly but fast." He added.
Precious looked deep in his eyes, she didn't know where she got the courage from but she placed her lips on his. She wanted to confirm something and she did.
She had started to like Bethel. She liked Bethel and it was what she was avoiding and denying. The feeling was mutual.
When did it all start? She thought.
Bethel leaned in and claimed her lips, licking them softly. The kiss was much more slow than their other kisses as if taking their time to understand and pass a message across.
He bit her lips making her gasp as he plunged his tongue into her mouth tasting her, devouring them.
Both tongues fought for dominance which Bethel later won. Soon he started to grow hard within as his pants tightened, his bulge erected.
He moved his hands slowly from her face unto her lower back, slowly laying her on the grass as he hovered her.
He kissed her, drawing imaginary lines on her skin sending goosebumps on them.
He stopped kissing her to look deep in her eyes and he whispered.
"Give me a chance to know you better!"
