Chapter 19: Chapter 19

The dinner with the Olaniyi's took place on the deck of the Kingsley's mansion. When Precious heard it was Bethel's engagement plans, she was angry. She didn't know why her heart was pained upon hearing it.

When she saw Bethel this morning, she wanted an explanation from him and she didn't know why. Hearing it was Beauty riled her up. Rich plus rich, arrogant and mannerless, both fits! She deadpanned.

She sat down on the kitchen stool as she laid her head on the island. All that clouded her mind was Bethel and she didn't like it.

Bethel sat down opposite Beauty while her both parents sat down opposite each other with his father taking a sit opposite no on. The dinner was served as they started off with business plans which bored Beauty out.

Beauty kept stealing glances at Bethel who was obviously focused on what his father was saying. She had always had a crush on him but he never paid her attention and she knew how to hide her feelings too.

She had pride and unlike others wouldn't make the first move. She took time with her dressings and outings before coming here just to get his attention but it isn't working out as she planned.

"Why don't we let the kids have time for themselves and get to know each other Bethel," Beauty mom said, cutting the gentlemen off their serious talk.

"That's true, Bethel and Beauty, you may leave," Bidemi spoke using his eyes to plead with Bethel to behave.

Bethel sighed, he stood up from his chair which made a screech sound before walking off with Beauty tailing him.

They walked down the stairs, "Bethel, why don't you show me your room?" Beauty asked, giving him her best grin. He shrugged, he didn't mind, all he wanted to do was get this over with.

He opened the door to his room and Beauty gasped when she saw the inside. "Wow! This is just like my room," she spat out taking short glances at everything.

She walked to his bed and touched it, "comfortable like my bed," she said moving her shoes and using her feet to feel the cold floor. She looked at it.

She rushed to the window area to take a good look at the balcony, "huge window, just like mine," she said.

Bethel just stared at her , shaking his head. "So tell me about you," Beauty insisted as she walked closer to him.

"What is there to know, there is nothing much, tell me about yourself instead," he insisted.

Beauty sat down on his bed facing him, "My name is Beauty which I'm sure you know and I am seventeen, born on the 16th of May." She spat out.

"And you?"

"Bethel, 17, born February 15." His words were short and firm. It was obvious, he wasn't comfortable with the chat.

"So, tell me Bethel, do you have a girlfriend?" She asked.

"No." He replied.

"Have you been in a relationship before?" She asked.

"No." He replied.

"Have you ever kissed before?" She asked.

"Yes."

"Wow," she muttered. "You haven't been in a relationship but have had a one night stand?" She asked.

"Yes, I am no saint," he replied. He carried his phone from the night stand and began to type.

Beauty didn't like he wasn't giving her much attention, what she wasn't used to.

"So what is your ideal type?" She asked.

Bethel paused as he began to think of everything related to Precious, he told her his ideal type.

"Wow...it's rare for a man to like girls who always have a comeback, it's not ladylike for a woman to talk too much," she spat out but Bethel shrugged.

"So..." Beauty trailed off moving closer to Bethel, Bethel looked at her as she observed her advancement towards him. She took away his phone, placing it on the nightstand as she leaned closer to him.

She cupped his face and Bethel could react, the door to his room opened revealing a very shocked Precious. She stared at the close proximity between the two people and before any word could be heard, she slammed the door walking out.

"Wasn't that the social welfare student, Precious?" Beauty asked in a way that irritated Bethel.

He said nothing. "Who is she to you?" She asked.

"None of your business!" He said pushing off of him. "I guess we've learnt enough about each other, kindly take your leave."

Beauty wasn't done, she wanted to know more about Precious and do more diggings. She left the room alone as Bethel made no attempt to leave him.

Later in the day, Precious came to clean his room but avoided seeing Bethel. She was really angry with him and was insulting him whilst she worked.

"You realise you aren't doing anything that makes it work right?" Bethel told Precious who was wetting the floor instead of cleaning it.

She said nothing as she kept doing how she pleased. "Are you okay?" He asked her.

"Come and clean yourself if you want to keep complaining!" She shouted.

"You know what your problem is, your problem is that you are so irrational and foolish, leave this instance and don't come back!" he shouted at her.

As much as he was trying to change, she kept pushing him.

"Whatever, she spat out, stay away from me too jerk!" She spat out. She took the bucket in her hand and just as she was about to walk, she slipped.
