Chapter 440: Chapter 440
Inzaghi, with a ripple of laughter, said, "When I jumped from the third floor, I saw the woman of the house taking a bath on the first floor, and by chance, her husband was outside walking the dog."
Huang Kaiwen felt he had never been so speechless in his life.
Inzaghi always thought he had good luck, yet he failed to realize that, whether playing cards or going out to frolic, he was always the unluckiest one.
Huang Kaiwen drove Inzaghi home.
Conveniently, this rascal was also planning to go to his house for Christmas.
On getting home, he saw Kaka and Beatrice eating.
Upon seeing Inzaghi, Kaka immediately said, "So it was this guy causing trouble again, and that’s what woke you up, right, Kevin?"
Because he knew that Huang Kaiwen typically slept until he woke naturally.
Getting up this early was unusual.
"Hey, Ricardo." Inzaghi pulled up a chair next to Kaka and slung his arm around Kaka’s neck, saying, "How can you talk like that, you little rascal? I’m the boss of the Three Musketeers!"
Kaka knocked Inzaghi’s hand away and said, "Stop touching me, I don’t want my girlfriend to misunderstand."
Beatrice, holding a cup of milk, looked at Huang Kaiwen and then looked at Kaka without speaking.
"This guy slept in someone else’s house, got caught, climbed down from the sixth floor, accidentally lost his footing on the third floor, fell into someone’s yard, and then got chased by a dog for a few streets."
Huang Kaiwen, sitting at the dining table, summed it up simply.
Inzaghi protested dissatisfiedly, "Didn’t you say you would keep it a secret?"
"They’re not outsiders, so there’s no need for secrecy."
Huang Kaiwen said with a smile.
Kaka set out the utensils for Huang Kaiwen and nodded, "Exactly, Kevin’s right!"
"Filippo, later I’ll call a doctor to treat your injuries, as I need to go to an award ceremony this afternoon," Huang Kaiwen said.
"You got another award?"
Inzaghi asked with wide eyes.
"Yes, Honorary Citizen of Milan."
Was there anything strange about him getting an award?
He, the Yellow Ball King, was born to win awards, and it wouldn’t be surprising if one day he won at Wimbledon or the Snooker Masters.
"What a damn lucky bastard, having a great girlfriend is so impressive, I think I deserve to be an Honorary Citizen of Milan too," Inzaghi muttered while eating his breakfast.
No sooner had he finished speaking than the other three stopped eating and just looked at Inzaghi.
Beatrice felt there was a hidden meaning in Inzaghi’s words.
Huang Kaiwen was being directly called out.
Kaka felt he had been hit twice.
Inzaghi also noticed something wasn’t right and hastily added, "I didn’t say there was a problem with you winning an award, but I’m really strong. That Moratti must be blind, I hate every single Moratti."
Inzaghi was referring to the mayor of Milan, Radiazia Moratti.
This Moratti was a woman, not related to Inter Milan’s boss Massimo Moratti, just sharing the last name.
"Kevin has made contributions to Milan City, you’re early if you think you should be an honorary citizen!"
Inzaghi pursed his lips and said, "You have changed after seeing Kevin, you little bastard!"
"Maybe you’re just too annoying!"
Huang Kaiwen, tired of listening to their arguments, changed the topic, "Ricardo, when do you guys plan to get married?"
"He’s waiting for a meaningful moment."
"Well, when it happens, make sure it’s not so rushed," Huang Kaiwen said.
Kaka, filled with the middle-class’s romantic fantasies about the world and appreciation for ceremonies, had such a choice which wasn’t surprising.
"Of course, you’ll definitely be my best man," Kaka said with a laugh.
"Shouldn’t it be me?"
Inzaghi pointed to his face discontentedly and said, "Look at this handsome face of mine, isn’t it more dashing than Kevin’s? I’d definitely lend prestige to your side as a best man."
Beatrice and Kaka looked at Inzaghi, then simultaneously nodded and said, "Pretty good, just a bit less than Kevin."
"What kind of taste do you have?"
Huang Kaiwen, having finished eating, stood up, and so did Kaka and Beatrice, leaving only Inzaghi sitting at the dining table.
Beatrice asked, "It’s this afternoon, right?"
Speaking of which, the Honorary Citizen of Milan award, known fully as the Ambrogino d’Oro, is bestowed to honor men, women, organizations, and associations that bring prestige to the city of Milan.
Originally, this year’s award ceremony was supposed to be in early December, but at that time Huang Kaiwen was quite busy, so it was postponed.
The lady boss was going directly from the company to the city hall to attend, but Huang Kaiwen still couldn’t escape his fate of being manipulated.
Right after lunch, Beatrice called the makeup artist and stylist, and brought quite a few clothes from their house.
True to form for the daughter of the Valentino boss, she never forgot about her family business.
These capitalists really know how to calculate.
Huang Kaiwen smirked as he realized something, he himself seemed to have quite a bit of money.
And quite a few properties, employing quite a number of people.
This shouldn’t be called capitalism, right?
Huang Kaiwen felt he was quite good, his employee’s salaries and benefits were above the local average, and he, the Yellow Ball King, wasn’t making money by exploiting others.
So he was not a capitalist, he was a dreamer!
What he did was not for making money, but for achieving dreams.
Thinking this, Huang Kaiwen felt much better.
It took over three hours for the makeup artist and stylist to finish their work.
A few of them went directly in a car to the city hall.
Inzaghi, who insisted on coming along, ended up being the driver.
