Chapter 84: Chapter 84

Lucy came down from the bed with her phone, and Jacob Green wrapped his arms around her waist, "What can she say?"

"Grace Hughes is a selfish person. Her fake sisterly relationship with Stellan can turn at any moment. Stellan trusts her and might tell her things she knows, maybe even things we don’t know. I have a way to make her tell me everything she knows."

Jacob Green immediately pinched her waist, his brows furrowed, "Heartless, I’m your man."

Lucy grinned and pressed his hand, "Do you think I’m dumb enough to deliver you to her mouth? My goal is to let her look but not touch, she can only helplessly watch. She’s probably arriving soon, I’ll go down to wander around the estate with her."

After going out, Lucy specifically instructed Nathaniel Green that Grace would be arriving soon, giving a heads-up in advance.

About ten minutes later, Grace Hughes indeed arrived in a taxi as expected.

Once inside, she didn’t see any patrolling personnel, and asked softly, "Is there no one on duty?"

"I asked Nathaniel to dismiss those people. After all, it’s not good for anyone to see you reporting to Mr. Green."

Grace nodded repeatedly, "That’s true. Lucy, I’m genuinely happy for you. You’ve recognized the Prime Minister as your godfather; the Prime Minister! What a person he is, truly incredible. You’re really fortunate to have a husband like Nathaniel Green and a godfather like that."

"Just lucky." Lucy affectionately held her hand, "Didn’t you say you had something to tell me face to face? What is it exactly?"

"Jacob Green wants to completely block Stellan, but the Quinn Family has returned to normal thanks to Mason Baker, the Prime Minister’s son. Do you know what relationship Mason Baker has with The Quinns?"

Lucy shook her head, "I truly don’t know."

"If you agree to do me a favor, I’ll tell you about it." Grace stared at her, "It’s definitely going to be a shocking news."

Lucy smirked, "What favor? Tell me."

Grace looked around and then said softly, "Give me one of Jacob Green’s clothes, any worn but unwashed clothes will do."

"Why do you want his clothes?"

"Stellan said she seems to have fallen for Jacob Green now, but knows they stand no chance, so she wants his close-fitting clothes as a comfort."

"I feel your words are contradictory and conflicting." Lucy directly pointed out, "You say you’ll tell the Quinns’ relationship with Mason Baker, yet claim it’s for Stellan? This... makes me quite perplexed."

Grace, having heard her say so, felt her hastily spoken reason was indeed unreasonable.

"Honestly, I’m best friends with Stellan, her matters are my matters, but the Quinn Family doesn’t concern me, especially her parents whom I actually don’t like deep down, so..." she explained reluctantly.

"You’re really good to Stellan, come, let’s walk this way." Lucy led her down the trail.

"Actually, I’m really good to all my friends. Lucy, I also take you as my friend; if you ever need my help, just let me know."

"I will, I can help with that favor you mentioned, it’s just a piece of clothing, it’s not difficult."

Seeing her agree, Grace’s eyes sparkled with joy, "Can you do it tonight?"

"Tonight?" Lucy thought inwardly, so urgent?

"I’ll try asking Nathaniel, you wait here and don’t go anywhere, there’s someone on duty not far away."

"Okay, I’ll wait for you here."

Lucy walked to the entrance of the duty room, Nathaniel Green saw her and quickly stood up to ask, "Where is she?"

"She’s waiting over there, asking for a piece of your master’s clothing, not sure what she wants to do. Go buy a new shirt of a brand your master often wears and bring it here, don’t forget to spray some of your master’s usual men’s cologne on it."

Nathaniel Green nodded, "Okay."

Wanting her to bring her husband’s clothes for Grace? Not a chance.

After giving instructions, Lucy returned to Grace, "I told Nathaniel, but Mr. Green hasn’t rested yet, and his cloakroom is in his bedroom, so it might take a while." ᴜᴘᴅᴀᴛᴇ ꜰʀᴏᴍ noⅴelfire.net

"That’s okay." Grace said and then they chatted casually, "You know, Stellan is quite something. When Jacob Green liked her, she was reckless and didn’t cherish it at all. Now that Jacob’s heart is not with her anymore, she claims to fancy him—does she have masochistic tendencies?"

"Mr. Green is so outstanding, why didn’t Stellan like him before?"

"She used to like the gentle and refined types, but Jacob Green appeared to have a somewhat moody temper from her perspective."

"I see, then why does she fancy him now?"

Grace casually replied, "Who knows, that’s just people being foolish, when they like you, you don’t want them; when they don’t like you, you realize and regret. Unfortunately, there’s no remedy for regret in this world, she has no idea how many people desire someone she despised before."

Among those who desire him is herself, and that Lucy knows very well.

They chatted for nearly half an hour before Nathaniel returned.

Receiving his text, Lucy quickly stood up, "I’ve got it, I’ll go get it."

Grace was overjoyed, "Great, go quickly then."

With a smile tugging at her lips, Lucy went to fetch the shirt from Nathaniel Green. Being detail-oriented, he purposely made the clothes appear worn by wrinkling them slightly, rolling up the sleeves, and leaving the buttons undone.

She handed the shirt to Grace, "Here."

Without any suspicion, Grace happily accepted it.

"Now that I’ve given you the shirt, can you tell me what relationship Mason Baker has with The Quinns?"

"Stellan told me, Mason Baker is her biological brother."

Lucy was stunned, "What? Brother? Was he adopted by my godparents?"

"I’m not sure about that, her mother didn’t tell her, just said that’s her biological brother, which is why he helped the Quinn Family this time."

"Alright, I understand."

"Don’t say I told you." Grace repeatedly instructed, "I’ll inform you if there are more news in this aspect."

"I definitely won’t say it, don’t worry."

Having gotten what she wanted, Grace stood up immediately, "Then I won’t disturb your rest, I’ll head back first."

Once out of Blossom Haven, after calling for a taxi, she hugged the cologne-sprayed shirt closely to her chest upon getting in the car, then buried her face in it, trying hard to smell the scent on the shirt.

It was a familiar scent of cologne, which in her mind, was the scent of Jacob Green.
