Chapter 153: Chapter 153
"What else can be stabilized about his eye condition?"
"It’s not his eyes; it’s his brain."
Lucy told him everything about Emma. "If it hadn’t been discovered in time, I’m afraid her days would have been numbered."
"The royal family is the most heartless." Jacob Green gave this comment and added, "After all, they are blood relatives, but humans are ; only when interests clash can you see true character."
"That’s the reason I took her to hide for now, to stabilize her condition first."
"By hiding , returning home will be even more dangerous. Once you go back, it might be even harder to make a move. For Arthur Bennett, it’s better for a person to die abroad than at home, so they will act impatiently."
Jacob Green put the towel aside and pulled her into his embrace, "If it weren’t for Emma, I’d want to take you home now, but with her here, that’s impossible. You know every plane back to the country is being strictly checked, whether public or private, none can escape the scrutiny."
"It’s okay, we’ll deal with whatever comes our way."
"Absolutely." She lifted her chin slightly, turned sideways, and wrapped her arms around his neck, "Honey, I’m so happy to see you."
As soon as he hummed a response, her lips met his eagerly, her hands busy with his belt, then she kicked off her shoes and straddled his lap, kissing him fiercely.
Jacob Green’s body was already tense, and his blood was boiling. He responded vigorously, and the two kissed passionately.
She mumbled back, "Missed you a lot."
"I missed you too." Jacob Green’s kisses softened, gently biting her lips over and over.
A short separation is like a new marriage; the absence just makes the longing grow stronger, and when they meet, sparks fly instantly.
They lingered for two hours before it ended.
Knowing that Jacob Green has to leave early tomorrow, Lucy didn’t want to part from him, nestled in his embrace, their fingers interlocked.
The surroundings were quietly colorful, only the rhythmic sound of rain tapping on the car window could be heard.
Lucy looked out into the indistinct world outside, "Feels like a dream."
"Like you walked into my dream," she said, breathing in his unique scent, "afraid that when the dream ends, everything will return to normal."
Whenever she felt happy, she had this thought.
Besides her grandmother, somewhere in the world, is there someone else like her grandmother who can change everything? ᴜᴘᴅᴀᴛᴇ ꜰʀᴏᴍ 𝚗𝚘𝚟𝚎𝚕·𝚏𝚒𝚛𝚎·𝚗𝚎𝚝
Lucy always tried to stop herself from thinking about these hypothetical scenarios, but occasionally she couldn’t help it.
Jacob Green kissed her forehead, "Seems like you really missed me after some time apart. This isn’t a dream; I’m right here beside you."
She closed her eyes and softly hummed in agreement.
They slept together through the night, and when Lucy woke up, the sky was just beginning to lighten. She took out her phone to check the time, and as she sat up, Jacob Green also woke up.
"I’m getting out of the car now."
"Make sure you get home safely."
Jacob Green watched her get out of the car. The rain was still falling, just lighter now, and her figure with an umbrella quickly disappeared at the alley’s entrance.
Emma did not sleep well all night, waking up five or six times. When Lucy entered the room, Emma was awake and asked upon hearing the door, "Is that you?"
"Yes." Hearing her voice, Emma was reassured.
He didn’t go back to sleep and asked, "It rained all night, did your clothes get wet?"
"No, I used an umbrella." Her voice was cheerful, much more so than in the past few days.
"Is there something happy going on?"
Seeing her response, he did not ask further.
"By the way," Lucy hesitated before saying, "I got some information that whether it’s public or private planes, the checks are very strict."
"We’ll just stay here as long as we can."
They planned to stay as long as they could, but in fact, two days later, the police found them again.
When the police saw they were still there, they were relieved but also frustrated to death.
At the moment they were caught, despite Lucy being in women’s clothing, she wasn’t afraid of being exposed because she had deliberately made her face very plain. Besides people familiar with her, it was difficult to recognize her.
"You in disguise, calling yourself Evelyn Butler, right? You are quite bold, daring to hide the Second Highness here for so long!"
"She didn’t abduct me." Emma clarified, "He didn’t have the guts to abduct me; I just wanted to get some air."
The police, of course, knew she was cooperating because the surveillance footage clearly showed her willingness.
But they said that following the Presidential Mansion’s instructions from Country Y.
Seeing her protect this subordinate, the police no longer wasted words.
"Second Highness, because of you, we haven’t slept for many nights. Now that we’ve found you, we can finally account for it. Please come with us."
"Wait, please allow me to change my clothes." Lucy spoke in a male voice.
"Change what clothes?"
"I don’t want to appear in front of my comrades in women’s clothing."
"Ha..." The police rolled their eyes but agreed, "You have five minutes, hurry up."
Lucy immediately went back indoors to change, putting on men’s attire. When she came out, several officers exchanged glances.
"Changing clothes makes you look like a different person."
Lucy did not respond, supporting Emma’s arm, "Your Highness, let’s get in the car."
When the police car reached the hotel, the guards were already waiting.
As soon as she got out of the car, Lucy felt a fist suddenly swing out at her. Caught off guard, she took the hit directly.
Her whole body staggered next to the car seat, with a metallic taste at the corner of her mouth.
"Richard Leigh, what are you doing?!" Theodore Fenn glared angrily.
"What am I doing?" Richard Leigh sneered, "If it weren’t for him, would the Second Highness have gone missing for so long? If we couldn’t find him, we were almost going to be executed because of him! Don’t you get it?!"
"I was the one who had him take me out, do you want to hit me too?!" Emma’s face turned icy, "Hmm?"
"Wouldn’t dare? It seems you really dare."
Lucy stood up straight by the car, hearing Emma’s inquiry, "How are you?"
"Fine." She glanced at Richard Leigh and then chuckled, "With such strength, you really don’t seem like much of a man."
Richard Leigh’s forehead vein throbbed, "Who are you calling not much of a man?!"
