Chapter 151: Chapter 151
"Young Master, we have the latest news about the Young Madam. We found her location abroad, but she had fled by the time we tried to capture her. We’re still searching for her everywhere."
Jacob Green smirked, "I knew it wouldn’t be that easy."
"They’ve increased their efforts overseas. Should we intervene and bring the Young Madam and the Second Highness back?"
"Do you want the people at the Presidential Mansion to think we’re supporters of Emma Bennett?" Jacob Green raised his eyes, "With so many eyes abroad watching, even if they’re caught by the police, they’d just be taken back to the hotel. As long as they’re not caught by those who want them dead, they’ll be fine."
Nathaniel Green didn’t argue any further upon hearing this.
Oliver Green entered the room, "Young Master, the Young Madam’s friend is here." New ɴᴏᴠᴇʟ ᴄhapters are published on 𝔫𝔬𝔳𝔢𝔩✶𝙛𝙞𝙧𝙚✶𝕟𝕖𝕥
"Let him in." Jacob Green stood up, straightened his collar, and went downstairs.
James Foster asked, "I haven’t been able to reach Lucy on her phone. I came to ask."
"Didn’t she tell you about going abroad?"
"That’s why I’m worried because she told me. How is she now? Is she in any danger?"
James Foster breathed a sigh of relief, "Did she say when she’ll be back?"
"She’ll come back when it’s time."
"With Lucy abroad, I can’t help but worry. I’m really afraid something might happen to her." James Foster glanced at the clock on the wall, "I’ll head back now. If anything happens, call me first."
After James Foster left, Nathaniel Green said calmly, "Young Master, I think you’re not as worried about the Young Madam as he is."
"His worry is in vain."
Nathaniel Green: "..."
"Prepare the plane immediately. I’m going abroad."
"What?!?" Nathaniel Green was a bit stunned, and only after a quick response, "Young Master, you’re not planning to look for the Young Madam now, are you?"
"I was planning to go tomorrow, but you keep nagging. Aren’t you going to brief the crew now?"
"Yes, I’ll call them right away." Saying this, he quickly took out his phone.
After making the call, Nathaniel Green asked, "But Young Master, didn’t you say if you met with the Young Madam and got discovered by the people from the Presidential Mansion, they’d misunderstand you as a supporter of the Second Highness?"
"The key is, your Young Madam isn’t under those people’s surveillance now, isn’t she? Right now, every airport is tightly controlled. It’s not suitable for our people to bring them back. After all, it’s easy to fetch your Young Madam, but it’s as difficult as climbing the sky for Emma Bennett to fly back. I’m afraid she’ll get caught as soon as she reaches the airport, and your Young Madam won’t leave him behind. So, it’s okay for me to go and see."
"But, Young Master, you don’t know where they are. Where will you meet the Young Madam once you’re there?"
"The police tracked down the place they stayed but didn’t find them, which means they’re likely still nearby. With surveillance everywhere, it’s better to stay put and watch developments."
"So, Young Master, how many people are you taking with you?"
"None, keeping it low-key."
"Are you Charles’s ex-girlfriend Ivy Fern?" Sophie Bennett asked uncertainly as she looked at the woman opposite her.
"That’s me. Please sit down." Ivy Fern gestured for her to sit.
"What reason did you have for mailing something to my house and asking me here?"
"I have something to tell you." She smiled slightly and signaled for the waiter to bring coffee.
Sophie Bennett didn’t know what Ivy Fern was up to, "Just say it straight."
"One of the reasons Charles and I broke up was due to family opposition. I don’t know if he told you."
"No, before the package you sent, I didn’t even know you existed."
Ivy Fern’s face stiffened, "Really? It seems I’m completely in the past for him, to the extent that he doesn’t even mention me."
"Why would he talk about an ex-girlfriend?"
"Exactly, I know you have a noble status, but I didn’t expect him to marry you. But at a glance, it’s clearly a marriage alliance. Your status must satisfy his parents."
"Enough with the irrelevant talk. Just tell me directly why you called me here." Sophie Bennett said impatiently.
"I just mentioned one of the reasons for our breakup being his family’s opposition, but there’s another reason; Lucy Eaton stole him away. For her, Charles even gave her a three-story storefront, quite valuable. The shop is still running, with many customers. Do you know their relationship?"
Sophie Bennett felt her temples throbbing. Even though Lucy Eaton claimed they were just friends, as a woman, she didn’t believe it. Now it seems her judgment was correct.
Though she thought this way, she had to maintain her dignity; she wouldn’t let her husband’s ex-girlfriend make fun of her.
"I thought you called me for something significant, and it turns out to be this." Sophie Bennett replied nonchalantly, "He and Lucy Eaton are just ordinary friends. Although mine and Charles’s marriage is an alliance, our relationship has grown post-marriage, and he’s been very good to me."
Ivy Fern felt uncomfortable inside, not angering her, but getting angered by her words. "That’s all a façade. He truly loves Lucy Eaton; to tell you the truth, even after our breakup, I’ve been keeping tabs on him. Once, I discovered them dining alone, and Charles looked at her with such tenderness."
"Looks like you still have lingering feelings for my husband. If you’re trying to create discord between us, let me tell you, don’t even think about it." Sophie Bennett stood up, "I’ll pretend I didn’t see you today. Goodbye."
Ivy Fern watched her walk away and muttered under her breath, "What an idiot."
How could she know that once Sophie Bennett got into the car, her face was ugly?
On the way home, she remained furious.
Upon seeing her husband’s car in the garage, she stomped angrily into the living room.
The person in question furrowed his brow at the shout and asked coldly, "What is it?"
"Do you know where I just came from? I just went to meet your ex-girlfriend. She mailed me something and asked me to meet. She asked if I knew about you and Lucy Eaton. As I suspected, there really was something between you two! How could Lucy Eaton claim to be friends with you with me, the rightful wife, here? Truly shameless." As she said this, with a face full of sarcasm, it made Charles Sharp extremely nauseous.
"If I could really be with her, do you think I would have married you?" Charles Sharp retorted, "Don’t think that just because you’re the President’s daughter, you’re superior. If you were that noble, why did you marry me?"
