Chapter 35: Chapter 35
The girl staring right back at me had me feeling a tiny little bit of jealousy. She looks flawless, beautiful, bold, if not stunning; yet she returns my smile with one of her own. My eyes roam every inch of her skin tight gown which flair at the bottom on the floor.
How I wish I was always looking like this girl in the past.
But, oh well. I smile feeling confident, bold and alluring. My hand flattened out invincible wrinkles feeling nervous for prom night . I hope I don’t look too over the top; well it’s my once in a lifetime prom so I guess I'm allowed to look over the top.
"Honey? We are waiting."
Mum's excited voice encourages me to come downstairs, a smile draws on my face. I puff out air giving a last look at the girl in the mirror. Guess it’s too late to turn back now.
Snatching my phone from the bed I walk out of my room to my parent waiting anxiously to see my new look. Each step got me closer to the stairs, holding the railing for support and with steady steps I ushered myself down to the view of my parent. Mum got teary eyed wiping her eyes with a kerchief while dad looks at me in pride. The both had proud smiles radiating on their faces, I smile.
"Oh my baby." Oh no. please don’t…she already has the waterworks running and mine is not far off.
"Mom...No...Please..Stop." My words fail me. Quickly I look at dad for help not wanting to ruin my perfect makeup that took me hours to finish. "Dad. A little help please." I whine giving a pout. He chuckles pulling me close placing a kiss on my hair before pulling mom to our hug, both squishing me. I groan. They both laugh pulling away. A smile present on our faces. I love my parents, I really do.
"She's just happy, maybe a little bit extra about it." Mom smacks his chest getting a deep laugh from him prompting my soft giggles watching her huff playfully. "I think I know someone who is also a little bit extra." He paths to reveal Austin looking dashing, delectable, delicious; let’s conclude on the whole nine yard of a good 'D'. Not that 'D' on your dirty mind which I'm shamelessly thinking about.
Ugh! Snap out of it girl.
His white fitting tux highlights his black dress shirt and black pants, a pocket square green matching my dress complete his ensemble. I mentally tap him on the back for not going all black today off all days. I would have sworn for him if he did. His brown hair which is usually tousled is sleek back showing off his defined jawline and high cheek bones. He looks so handsome that it's intimidating. Pink full lips slowly forms a smirk. I didn’t even realize when he clasped the corsage round my wrists because I'm shamelessly gawking at him and don’t seem to snap out of it anytime soon.
"Snoopy stop snooping." That snaps my eyes to his instead of his hotness.
His cocky smirk seems more prominent and I’m guessing the new hairdo did the trick. I
could just worship him.
"You look beautiful as always." And I stand there speechless, shy and nervous lost for words. Get yourself together Mary-Vienne.
"Come on, we don’t want to be late for our prom." I smile at that. Mum and dad gives me a last hug before we left.
"Is that a limo?" my mouth drops open looking at the sleek black car. This is too much. I bit my lower lip not wanting to ruin the happy moment with word vomit threatening to fall out. He chuckles sensing my struggle.
"Anything for the girl with my heart." he assures me opening the door for me to step in. Neon warm purple light greets me inside the leather interior. OK this is cool. I gush.
"It’s beautiful. Thanks Austin, I love it." the smirk he has grows bigger. I draw closer kissing his cheeks. "And I love you more." could he blush anymore than he is already. I giggle pulling out of the strong temptation to lean in kissing him on his lips.
"Yeah." he grins slightly.
"Babe!!!"
"Oh my heart! Bailey! What is wrong with you?" I grip my chest frightened from her crazy cry. How did I not see her in the first place?
"Nice to see you to best friend." she says with sass getting an eyeroll from me. "Besides I decided to join the ride in other for things to remain PG-rated in case someone gets too handsy." she says cheekily looking straight at Austin who chuckles unamused.
"Fuck you, Bailey." she waved him off like a pesky fly flipping her her golden locks. I giggle loving their bickering.
"Nah. I believe that spot is reserved for your Snoopy." she really does know how to wipe the smile off my face. I glare hard at her feeling my cheeks heat up at that comment. Austin chuckles pulling me to him.
She gets her phone out of her clutch taking selfies as I and Austin watch her amusedly soon we join her in the selfie marathon. By the time we got to our school, my face is flushed from laughing too hard and my cheeks hurts from blushing thanks to Austin and Bailey.
Smiling we came down from the limo strutting to the gym which looks splendiferous. Thanks to the student body in charge. Austin's teammates waves him over, I tried hiding my frown but with the chuckle he gave I think he knows what's in my mind.
"Don’t give me that face now." I pout hating this new feeling I have when I'm not with him. "Look at me." he stares down at me sexily, an obvious smirk on his face. "I’ll be back, okay." I nod defeatedly.
"Okay." I breath softly.
"And I thought its hoes before bros. That hurt sis. I think you owe me an apology...no multiple apologies." she props her hand on her hips dramatically.
"Always the drama queen Bailey. I forgive you." I mock.
"Yeah right." rolling her eyes she look at the now crowded gym and I did the same. Everyone is smiling, looking pretty, talking animatedly or taking selfies.
To me and everyone in my class, tonight is the best day in our lives. Our last highschool prom and after this what next, college and achieving our dreams in the big world. My eyes scan through everyone even our teachers standing by to make sure no one misbehaves. I can't say much about my highschool life only that these past month have been exhilarating. Meeting Austin, having the best times of my life, our first fight, dating him. Yep, those became a cherished memory.
I got a feeling uhhhh uhhhhhh
That tonight’s gonna be a good night
That tonight’s going to be a good good nigggghhhht
Literally everyone screamed dragging their partners to the dance floor. Trust Bailey to do the same with me. Soon I found myself laughing like crazy as we did our famous crazy dance.
Heads turn to us in amusement. Okay, we didn’t think this through especially in our gowns. We look like clowns singing, dancing and jumping our hearts off. Tonight is really going to be a good night, I can feel it in my bones and can’t for the night to blossom. I dance along with my best friend having our crazy type of fun until Principle Sanders got up the stage making his favorite speech. My eyes scan everywhere for Austin as he continues his speech, even in my heels I wasn’t tall enough to see past the heads blocking my view.
"Now the moment you have been waiting for more than my honorable speech." everyone laugh at that which is entirely true. We all are waiting to hear whom will be crowned King and Queen of prom night. "Your new prom king is…" he opens the white envelope looking at it before looking back at our anxious faces in a smile.
"Austin Mahone." The gym erupted in a loud roar. Bailey and I squeal at each other, gushing like fangirls. Soon after we calm down as I began searching for him again.
"You don’t have to look for me snoopy. I’ll always be by your side." his cool breath made goosebumps crawl on my skin. Don't blush Snoopy. Don't you dare blush? He chuckles.
The spot light shines on him when he kiss my exposed shoulders before taking suave steps towards the stage. I watch as he is crowned, his eyes roam across the hall of student body before it lands on me. Sinfully I couldn't stop staring at him. That is my boyfriend looking all shades of sexy. He smirks locking eyes with me which I know my cheeks are flaming hot red. Don’t blame me.
"Now that’s gone, let’s move on to welcome our prom Queen." I smirk at Bailey giving her a
wink. She’s so going to win it over Kim. "The 2020 prom queen goes to..."
