Chapter 49: Chapter 49

ANDREW POV

“The business men are already in the conference room sir. They’re just waiting for your arrival.” Frank announced the moment I ended a call with my dad.

“Okay. Let go then.” I stated and strolled out of the room while he trailed behind me.

In a short while, we arrived at the conference room as I shook hands with the business men before taking my seat so we could begin the discussion about the business deal.

“Like we discussed the last time Mr Walton, we’re satisfied with the products. We just need to get straight to the price negotiation.” The eldest among the business men stated.

“Since my products never fail any of my clients, the price will always remain at its fixed rate which is five hundred billion. It’s left unto you gentlemen to decide if you want to get on with the deal or not.” I responded.

“Can we have a little discussion?”

“Sure. Take all the time you want, I don’t mind.”

“Mr Walton, we have decided…” He paused when my phone rang out as I quickly pulled my phone out to silent it.

I checked the caller to see it was Tia. I wonder why she’s calling when it hasn’t gotten to an hour since I dropped her off at the office.

“Excuse me gentlemen but I need to pick this call.” I apologized and picked the call.

“Hello sir. Your wife is in a bad situation.” A stranger’s voice which belonged to a woman bloomed over the phone.

“What happened to her?” I inquired, getting on my feet.

“I don’t know sir but we’re on our way to the hospital.”

“What the hell do you mean you don’t know what happened to her? Which hospital are you taking her?” I yelled as Frank rushed up to me while the businessmen were staring intensely at me.

“We’re heading to Franklin hospital.”

“I’m on my way there.” I affirmed and disconnected the call.

“What happened sir?” Frank asked.

“Is everything alright Mr Walton?” One of the business men inquired.

“It’s my wife. She’s in a bad situation and I have to go right now.”

“I’m sorry to hear about that. Please, go check up on her. We can always hold this meeting for another day.”

“Thank you Mr Jeff.” I uttered and rushed outside with Frank.

I won’t be able to forgive myself if anything happens to her. I haven't gotten the perfect time to profuse my feelings to her so I can’t watch anything happen to her. I still need more time to confess it to her in a special and unforgettable way.

MRS WALTON POV

Richard and I were having some fun time together in the house when we got a call from Andrew of Tia being rushed to the hospital.

He didn’t tell us what happened but just told us to meet him at the hospital where she was admitted. I could tell how Andrew was feeling when I heard his voice.

He has never been that way before towards anyone. He really does care about Tia so much that I can’t help but feel really happy about the recent changes in him ever since Tia came into his life.

My poor Tia, I hope she’s alright. I called her parents on our way to the hospital and told them about the situation and the hospital she was admitted to.

I really can’t bear it if anything happens to her because I had promised her parents I won’t let any danger come her way and here I am not able to fulfill the promise.

In a couple of minutes, we arrived at the hospital and found Frank making a call at the entrance of the hospital.

“Frank, how is Tia?” I asked, rushing towards him.

“We currently don’t know Mrs Walton but she’s in the operating room.” He said as he ended the call and showed us to the operating theater.

“Andrew, what really happened to her?” I asked, rushing up to Andrew as he pacing around the doorway.

“I don’t know as well, mom but her secretary said, she was having her coffee like always when she suddenly held her throat and fell unconscious.”

“Where is the secretary and how are we sure she was the one who put something into the coffee?”

“I don’t know mom but she has gone to make a call, okay. I just don’t care about anything at the moment. I just want my wife to be in a good condition, that’s all I want right now.”

“Oh, God, keep her safe. She’s so sweet and innocent. She doesn’t deserve any of these.” I uttered silently as my husband walked towards me and embraced me.

ANDREW POV

Tia’s parents arrived not quite long after my parents did and were all worried like the rest of us as we are still awaiting the doctor’s response.

Please stay strong Tia. I know you're a strong woman and you will be able to push through this one as well.

After waiting for a few more minutes, the doctor stepped out of the operating room with a long face.

"Doctor, how's my wife?" I asked, eagerly as he pulled off his hand gloves.

"If you hadn't rushed her down here, she would have been gone."

"Oh, my God! How's she doctor? Please, say something." My mom shouted.

"She's out of danger now. She was poisoned with one of the deadliest poison called paraquat. It was added in the coffee she took and luckily for her, she didn't take much of the coffee or it would have gotten worse." The doctor explained as I glared at Tia's secretary who was shivering.

"There's only one person who has an answer to that question." I uttered and charged towards her.

"Why did you poison my wife?"

"I really have no hand in it." She replied as everyone stared at her including the doctor.

“I won’t say it again. Why did you poison her?” I bellowed as she went on her knees wiping uncontrollably.

“I swear I wasn’t the one. I would never do it. I think the woman who came looking for her must have put the poison into the coffee because she was the one I left inside the office before ma'am Tia could arrive.” She revealed.

"Wait what? How could you let someone into your boss' office?" Mom yelled.

"Can you describe the woman's look?"I inquired.

"Yes, yes. She's a bit tall, fair skin with silky hair and gray eyes. Also she looks wealthy."

There's only one person who has exactly the same features and I really know what she can do.

Susan has just crossed her limits and will regret ever messing with my wife.
