Chapter 48: Chapter 48

TIA POV

After freshening up and getting dressed in my pajamas, I decided to go join Andrew and Mike to check if they have resolved their differences.

I got to the living room and found only Mike busy on his phone and wasn’t even aware of my presence.

“Hey Mike. What the hell really happened? I’m sure you really have a good explanation for avoiding my texts, calls or even checking up on me. I refuse to believe what you had said before.”

“Calm down Tia. I’m sorry I left unannounced at the party and didn’t respond to your calls and texts but believe me, I don’t want to get in trouble with your husband like last time.”

“What about him, Mike? I know he doesn’t like seeing us together but that doesn’t mean you won’t talk to me or even try to check up on me. It’s just not fair, Mike.”

“I’m sorry Tia. I just got Andrew’s words into my head unaware I was hurting you at the same time.”

“It’s alright. I'm not actually that mad, you know." I chuckled.

"I know you can't stay mad with me for long. I'll have to take an excuse for now as I have got a lot to work on for the contract deal I'm working on."

"Sure, no problem. All the best on the project."

"Thank you, Tia." He smiled and strolled away.

He just doesn't want Andrew to find us talking to each other. That's why he made such an excuse to end the discussion.

Andrew needs to understand I need to socialize with anyone I want instead of trying to push them away from me just because I'm his wife.

He needs to know things aren't done that way. I do need to talk to him about it.

THE NEXT MORNING

ANDREW POV

Throughout the night I couldn’t take the thought of having my cousin living under the same roof with us.

I know he’s up to something which I have to figure out as soon as possible and keep a close eye on him to see he doesn’t get anywhere Tia like they used to.

I picked up the files I worked on last night with my laptop bag before making my way to the dining table.

I hope Tia is also ready to go to the office and about Mike, I don’t know if he’s going to be going out but I do hope I don’t find him talking to Tia.

I arrived at the dining table and just like I suspected, I found them having a discussion as I glared hard at Mike which made him move away from Tia.

I just hope I won't regret my decision of allowing him to stay with us for a while. I can’t believe after all my word of staying away from her, he still went ahead and tried to talk to her like always.

“Good morning Andrew." Tia uttered.

“Good morning.” I grumbled and dropped the laptop bag and files on the chair by my left before taking a seat at the center.

“Good morning buddy.” Mike uttered as I gave me a long stare.

“Morning.” I responded and urged one of the maids to serve my breakfast.

I kept watching Mike closely as we all ate in silence without saying a word.

In no time, we were done having breakfast as Tia and I got on our feet to leave.

"Come, let go. I'll drop you at the office today." I stated and picked up my files and laptop bag while she took her bag.

"I guess I'll see you both tonight then. Have a nice day." Mike uttered as I threw him a deadly glare before strolling away with Tia right behind me.

We got outside the mansion and saw the car was ready as we both got in before we hit the road.

In less than thirty minutes, we arrived at her father's company as she was about to step out of the car when I stopped her with my hand.

"Give me a call when you're about leaving the office so I'll come pick you up."

"Okay." She uttered as I slowly took my hand away from her.

"Have a nice day."

"Have a nice day too." She replied and stepped out of the car.

I couldn't stop staring at her until she was out of sight. I'm really lucky to have such a beautiful wife who's of good manners and has the shape of a goddess. What's more to that than peace of mind.

TIA POV

I got inside my office really exhausted and found a cup of coffee on my desk.

Ella is really sweet. I’m sure she’s the one who placed it there. She just knows how to handle her job but where must she have gone. I didn’t find her at her desk but she’s around anyway. I’m sure she must have got to do something.

I dropped my bag on the desk and pulled off my coat and placed it over my chair before taking a seat.

This coffee is all I need to get me moving since I have got a lot of work to do today.

I took a few sips from the coffee as a short knock came on the door.

“Come in.” I uttered and took another sip as it turned out to be Ella.

“Good morning boss.”

“Good morning Ella. Thanks for the coffee, you have no idea how I really needed something to cool my nerves down.”

“It’s nothing ma’am. By the way, have you met with the lady who came looking for you?”

“No, I didn’t see anyone and who is she?”

“She didn’t say her name. I left her here after I dropped your coffee to get the files you asked me to work on from the production department."

“Who could she be and why would she leave without waiting a little longer for me to arrive? Can you describe her features?” I inquired as I felt my body acting strange but I ignored it.

"She has a pair of gray eyes and..."

"Aaaahh..." I cried out holding my throat as she stopped and rushed towards me.

"What's wrong ma'am?"

"I feel my body going weak. What did you add into the office?"

"I didn't add anything ma'am. It's exactly the way you want it."

"Aaahhh... Call my husband, Andrew." I cried out as I felt my body going completely numb and before I could process what was happening I blanked out on the floor.
