Chapter 42: Chapter 42

ANDREW POV

I can’t really stand Mike’s behavior towards my wife anymore. I’m damn fed up with all his ways in trying to make me feel like some kind of a bad person towards Tia.

“Finally you decided to show up.” He replied with a light chuckle.

I wasn’t expecting to see him or even my mom here. I’m sure it’s my mom who informed him of the party because she’s the only one who can get such information about my movements.

“I asked you a damn question?” I bellowed, walking toward him.

“What’s with the attitude son?” My mom asked.

“Not now and not ever so stay out of this mom.”

“What in the world?” She gasped.

“For the last time Mikey, where do you think you’re taking my wife to?”

“Since you want an answer then I will give you one. I’m here to take her for a party, are you happy about it?”

“Let me make some things clear to you Mikey. She’s my wife and I decide who and where she goes so you have no right to show up here acting like you’re the husband.”

“Whoa! Calm down bro. I really don’t mean harm.” He laughed, putting his hands up in surrender.

“I’m just holding up because you’re my buddy.”

“I got it dude. I’m glad to see you’re beginning to value her. Keep it up and see you at the party and you too Tia. By the way, you look stunning.” He added with a smile and walked out right before I could say another word.

“Are you happy now? I have one thing to tell you son, anger won’t take you anywhere, instead it will destroy you if you don’t learn to control it.” My mom stated in anger.

“I’m sorry for the way I yelled at you.” I tried to apologize but she shouted.

“That’s your headache not mine. I’ll see you around Tia darling and don’t forget what we discussed, okay?” She smiled at Tia who smiled back as well.

“Okay mom. Good night.”

“Good night darling. I got nothing to say to you, boy.” She frowned and walked out as well.

I know I shouldn’t have said those words to her but I just don’t know what came over me. I just lost it when I saw Mike’s car parked outside knowing he’s here with one of his tricks.

I diverted my attention towards Tia to find her staring at me but when she saw I was looking she took her graze quickly to the floor.

I walked past her as the same crazy feeling I always get whenever she’s around rushed all over my body like the speed of my adrenaline.

She looks really beautiful in the wine dress that I couldn’t even notice when all I could think of was seeing Mike show up at an unexpected time.

“I will be out in a minute.” I uttered in a calm tone before making my way towards the stairs.

I was more than surprised when I saw just the sum of $1560 debited from my unlimited account when I was hoping she was going to use more of that.

I was really happy she proved me wrong. I just need one or more tests to fully accept her completely into my life as a life partner.

TIA POV

The incident of Andrew’s attitude kept circulating in my head. I couldn’t stop thinking about it no matter how I tried.

Andrew really displayed that kind of attitude to Mike all because of me. Does it really mean he cares so much about me but doesn’t want to admit it?

I really can’t stop thinking about it. I will have to use some means to find out if he really does care about me.

“I’m all set. Can we leave now?” I heard his voice say to me as I looked up to see him dressed in a wine canali suit looking handsome and elegant.

“Okay.” I tried getting up but my dress made me almost tripped on the floor but Andrew caught fast for the second time.

"Thank you.”

“You’re getting late. Let go.” He said and strolled out while I followed right after him.

**

We arrived at the event which was an outstanding sight just like ma’am Sarah had said.

There were media all around taking pictures of guests coming out of their cars as well as the people on the red carpet.

“This is really an important moment for me and I really want you to help me out so it can go perfectly. I don’t want people getting to know we don’t get along. Can you please, act like we’re cool so it won’t create some questions for me?” He begged, which made me speechless for some seconds.

“Okay. I will do it for us.”

“Thanks.” He murmured as one of the bodyguards opened the door from his side as he stepped out.

I was expecting another bodyguard to open the door from my side instead I saw Andrew gesturing to me to take his hand.

I placed my left hand on his as I stepped out as the media kept taking our pictures no stop.

We locked hands together before heading to the red carpet to take another shot together when my eyes caught someone who looked really familiar as it drowned on me. It's none other than the devil's incarnate herself.

“What's she doing here at this party?” I mumbled to Andrew's hearing.

He followed my gaze as his eyes fell on her as they both locked eyes together.

“How the hell did she get invited to such an occasion?” He gritted his teeth in a low tone.

“Can you please just let it go for now since the media are still watching? Remember how you want this party to go smoothly without any barrier so don’t let anything spoil it." I advised.

"How did she manage to get into the party?"

"Please, calm down. She isn’t worth your time or anything. Try to act like she's never here and everything will be good, please?" I tried persuading him from doing something dangerous.

“I will act cool just for your sake." He accepted as I felt happy he's listening to my words.

This is really a great progress to see Andrew listening to my words. I can't wait to see things turn around between us soon enough.
