Chapter 27: Chapter 27
TIA POV
“I’m sorry, how did you know?” I asked standing on my feet as Katie was just lost drooling over him.
“Where are my manners? I’m Mike Walton, Andrew’s cousin and best friend. I apologize for showing up this way.”
“You’re welcome. Please come take a seat.” I urged to the seat next to Katie who kept staring at him nonstop.
“I see you have a guest as well. I hope I am coming in between?”
“She’s no guest. She’s my best friend.” I replied.
“I see. Hello Miss.” He said to her but she just kept quiet, drooling over him.
“Hey Katie.” I gave her a light tap to make her jolt out of her crazy thoughts.
“Oh, I’m so sorry.” She answered shyly.
“It’s alright. I like you already. You’re really funny.” He chuckled.
“I know right.” She answered with a chuckle.
“You have a lovely smile by the way.”
“Thanks.” She answered blushing.
I haven’t seen my bestie act this way towards any man. I hope it isn’t what I think it is.
“I must say, my cousin really did pick a perfect wife.”
“Thank you. If I may ask, was he the one who told you about me?” I asked curiously.
“You know how grumpy my cousin can be. I visited my aunt and uncle at the hospital who told me about you and Andrew's wedding.”
“Oh, I see. How’s uncle doing?”
“He’s healthier than ever. Aunt and uncle couldn’t stop praising you. That's why I had to come and see for myself and indeed I’m really trailed.”
“Thank you for the compliment. Do you by chance know where Andrew might be?”
“I haven’t been in contact with him but why did you ask? You both are husband and wife so there shouldn’t be any hide and seek between you both or is there something wrong?”
“Of course there is but she wouldn’t say a word, am I right bestie?” Katie uttered with a grin.
“Don’t mind any of her words. She doesn’t really know what she’s saying.” I protested, sending her a deadly glare.
“No problem. I would love to stay longer, unfortunately I have a plane to catch but I’ll always come by to say hello.”
“That’s alright. You’re always welcome anytime. It’s really nice meeting you.”
“Me too. Take care of yourself.”
“I will and you too.”
“It was nice meeting you, Katie.” He said with a warm smile.
“Same here Mike. I hope to see you around.”
“That’s for sure. I need to create a close bond with my sister-in-law. We need to get to know and understand each other because that’s how family bond works, isn’t it?”
“You’re right, Mike. You really seem cool and friendly unlike my bestie’s husband who is…” She was going to say cold-hearted but I cut in before she could say the words.
“He’s not really friendly with people. I’m sure that’s what she’s trying to say.” I explained, laughing nervously.
I’m really sure Katie will put me in trouble one day. She doesn’t really know how to overlook things when it comes to my situation but I did plead with her not to disclose it to anyone but she just doesn’t seem to understand.
“Yeah, that’s for sure. Andrew isn’t friendly at all but once you get closer to him, you won’t view him that way.”
“That’s right. I’m working towards that.” I smiled.
“Here’s my business card. You can always reach out to me anytime.” He said stretching the business card to me but Katie took it before I could even make an attempt.
“I got to go now.” He got on his feet and brought his hand forth for a hand shake.
“Okay. I wish you a safe flight.” I smiled and shook hands with him.
“Thank you.” He responded and made his way out of the office.
ANDREW POV
I can’t believe Mike went to visit her in her company. Who knows if she has bewitched him with her spells just like the rest? I really can’t be influenced by her ways no matter how she gets into my head.
Coming back didn’t wasn’t really the best choice I had. It only made things more complicated for me.
Ever since I got married to her, things haven’t been going well for me. First, it was my mom, then my dad and now my cousin.
How many people will she take away from me? I really don’t know what else to do with her. She’s just getting inside my life, family and every other thing.
I really have to do something about her as fast as possible or I will lose all the people I care so much about.
I got to do something about her or I will have myself to blame. But what can I possibly do to avoid her?
I was still having the thought on what to do when a short knock came over the door as I urged the person in.
“Sir, everyone is waiting for you at the conference room.” Frank asked.
“Okay, let go.” I got on my feet as we both made our way out of the office.
We arrived at the conference room as I found Susan and her husband among the three broad members who held the meeting.
The witch decided to show up as an excuse to meet me. Well, too bad she’s never going to get the chance.
I walked over to the center seat and took my seat as one of the broad members got on his feet to proceed with the discussion.
**
The moment the meeting was over, I left for my office to attend to some of the files I was going through earlier.
Few minutes after I stepped inside the office, I heard a knock on the door.
“Come in.” I urged the person in as Susan stepped in dressed like a complete slut.
I knew she would still show her ugly face here since I ignored all her advances at the meeting.
“Ain’t you supposed to be with your husband?” I asked.
“Oh, please. He’s gone already. I came to see you.” She replied, cat walking towards me.
“You do know I don’t have any business with you aside from your husband.”
“Of course you do, Andrew. Remember our last discussion, well I came to get an answer. I’m sure you’ve changed your mind after the last response.”
“My answer still stands the same. I don’t have anything to do with a woman like you.” I grinned as she frowned.
“Of course you do. Sooner or later, you will come to regret saying those words.”
“No, I won’t because I have a wife who I love so much. She isn’t a cheap woman like you who throws herself at men.”
“That’s impossible. You can’t be married.” She sputtered.
“Yes, I am happily married to a beautiful woman.”
“I don’t believe you, Andrew. You can’t possibly be married without informing anyone.”
“Who told you everyone isn’t aware? Ask your husband, I am sure he will tell you.”
“You can’t be with any woman other than me.”
“Why don’t you try sticking to your husband? I’m sure it will do you better than harm.” I smirked as she kept fuming with anger.
“This isn’t over, Andrew. I will make sure I have you by all means.” She said and stormed out of the office.
I couldn’t help but smile when she stormed out of the office in anger.
I guess this marriage is really a good thing after all. I couldn't believe she could be moved when I told her about it. I will really love to see her next action when she learns the truth from her husband.
