Chapter 52: Chapter 52
She looks beautiful in that yellow dress.
Her loose wavy long hair reaches her waist, her hands are politely holding in front of her, and the way she looks down at me is majestic. She smells so sweet like a cake. I've never seen a woman like this who can drive me crazy just by looking at her for about 300 years. Unfortunately, she's an enemy. She must be casting a spell at me behind visibility.
"Biaco is your target, no?" she spoke and that voice shivered me. "I will not allow you to cross this staircase until you cancel your command to those werewolves. Please stop what you're doing. Or else I will."
I cleared my throat and stretched my arms. No, it's not the perfect time to impress her—somehow I felt that I wanted to. She's raising an eyebrow at me. I look at the upper floor. "Then I'm not going to use that staircase anymore," I sighed, yet when I was about to jump to that upper floor, she was standing behind me in the blink of an eye. Pressing the tip of her finger on my nape with her menacing enchantment.
"I said to cancel your command. How could you do such a horrible thing to your kind!? This is a massacre! and you shall surely be condemned for this!"
"None of them is a silver wolf, unless they use silver against themselves, they die. And kindly don't involve yourself with this. Neither I know what I could do against you. Both of us know that we won't like it."
I downplayed her threat and was about to jump but then again, this time, she cuddles me from behind! My arms are locked in her arms that are surrounded with enchantment, strong enough that I can't badge her. No matter how hard I try to break free, she's firm. Worse, my heart drills the nervousness throughout my body! I hate and like what she's doing to me.
"Hey, Miss, are you hitting on me?"
"Wha— I-I’ll hit you with heels!"
"Mmm, you smell like cakes. If only I had time to eat you, I would, but you're not my prey for today." I attempted to frighten her. However, it went wrong.
"Sir, everyone is dying outside. And flirting has nothing to do with this. Like I said, if you won't stop, I will stop you." She talks like a civil knight in towns.
"I know you're Lanasia's friend. I'll put you into consideration. I'll be careful as much as I can. I apologize in advance."
She was startled when I shrank into a tiny wolf for a short second, I was freed from her clenches and that is my intention, then I shifted back to kick her in the stomach, she was thrown away and toppled over. Her scream expresses so much pain but I didn't overdo it. Now she's squirming his arms in her stomach. Nevertheless, it's to my advantage to use the staircase. I almost set foot on the upper floor when I was scorched by a swift explosion!
It's her. She's kneeling on the floor. Her fingertip has a magic circle and the steam on it means the power came from there. "You... insolent dog!" she yelled. She fires another in front of me which compelled me to retreat. I cannot underestimate her. That means I have to get rid of her first. I leap over the baluster to jump at her with my claws. She raises her hand and I stop midair, neither can I move! She points a finger, then fires at me, leaves a graze on my jaw, and explodes at the ceiling.
She's deliberately missing her attacks.
I fell with the shreds of the ceiling part that was damaged. Automatically, I cover my nape from the residues after I land safely. Chains that sprout on the floor tangle on my arms, legs, and throat, it came from the magic circle beneath me. And now I cannot stand up! She's right in front of me, her right-hand manifests an enchanted book similar to Zaeramil. I simply turned the chains into pieces when I clawed them. I sprint towards the enchantress and when she fires, I parry her arms upward, lock her arm behind her and pull up her other wrist.
She's groaning. I sniffed her hair and unintentionally found a bite mark on her neck. "Where's your lover? He wouldn't like to lose her girl."
She questions in a hostile manner, "Oh, really? He doesn't!?"
I tumble to the floor all of a sudden! Something hard hit my shoulder away from her: it was a moving knight statue. Chains sprout to entangle me again and the moving statue weighs down on my back, making me completely trapped! Especially when she mentions my name,
"Hessuel... please stop this," she pleads. "I know you're not into another declaration of war. I know you wanted to be the hero of your pack. This isn't the right way! Biaco is genuine with his proposal! Please consider the harmless way! Hessuel."
"Why did you know my name?"
"Everyone does!"
"Why did you know me? Who are you!?"
She raises both of her arms and the chains pull me down further to prostrate on the floor! "I did not give you up for this..." her voice quivers. I had no other option and she was agitated when I pressed my only button.
["Obey me. Kill this woman."]
Sooner than later, the rumbling of the countless werewolves is approaching the hall. The enchantress immediately enchanted a giant gate to block them but their number is also their strength, enough to destroy the gate. They were all wild and insane as they raided the woman. Even if she draws a line of fire, they all crossed over it. Leaving her no room to escape, the statue lifts her and levitates with her. The rumpus of the slaves of my howl is uncontrollable—except by my word. They are gathered here like sands.
The chain loose and I waste not a second escaping in my wolf form, stepping on the sands of werewolves instead of the floor, and set foot on the upper floor. I run in the hallways whilst looking for staircases to go to the top room where Amos is probably hiding. This castle is too big but not bigger than Asfara's. I've found another, shorter, staircase but stopped midway when the enchantress appears in front of me again.
She's panting, fatal, blood is dripping on her legs. I can't remember if I stabbed her or anything. Unless... I shift into my human. "There's a growing life in your womb? It shouldn't be anyone else who'll tell you to stop meddling with this chaos but yourself!" It's stirring my anger. I shouldn't care about her decision. But it still makes me furious.
"Hessuel... both of you are important to me. So please, stop." Her voice is weaker. Her lips pale.
"Why do you keep on telling me to stop? No one else can stop me. And this isn't the right time yet." No one can stop the waves until it is calmed. And this mission will make me calm.
"Then I won't stop you. I shall tame you." She unleashes her enchantments again, so I tackled, pin her on the wall and grip her throat. She's scratching my arms and her other hand points a finger on my forehead, a magic circle appears, but she isn't firing.
"Do it," I dared.
Her hand is trembling, she's partially stiffing, and tears shower emotionally. The longer I look at her, the more painful it gets to watch her cry. Her eyes show so much care for me. We're sharing the same pain. Why? She's not my mate. My mate is long gone. I felt a drop on my lips and I released her immediately. I was crying all this time! She's weeping on the floor, using all her spare strength to do it. And that sounds painful for me as well! I step backward.
"Just s-stay out of this!!" I run away while covering my ears.
"Hessuel!" I still heard her call and it pierced through my chest.
I run farther to escape any sound coming from her, yet the pain remains. There's one way I know to save myself from it, too. I scratch the wall of the empty hallway, bump my head, and shout. I lie down on the floor to rest. I only have one purpose for why I live today. And today will be its final chapter. I'm doing this for my people, not for their own advantage, then everything will end fair.
There's a terrace at the other end of this hallway. I stand there to see what is happening outside on the ground. All my slaves are back but they aren't harming one another. They're all silently staring at the shining image of the moon, underneath the imitation is the statue that attacked me earlier. It's not moving this time.
["Hear me... All of you... Glorify my name."]
I thought my power expired in them until they shouted to praise my name continuously.
"GLORY TO ALPHA HESSUEL! GLORY TO ALPHA HESSUEL!"
A smirk forms on my lips. What they gave me is what I will return. The pond of tears of my pack, my pureblood kind, shall now be replaced with peace for their souls.
Acro arrived with the news, ["They're here."] The airship is coming this way, to the palace. Now all I have to do is find their coward Alpha. The moment I step inside again, a string triggered by my feet explodes, more powerful than the explosions of the enchanters! Acro flies ahead and I follow quickly, yet I notice every corner of this hallway is about to ignite! We dash to the door ahead until that way explodes.
I tumbled and Acro was injured, crawling her wings on the floor. There's another smaller hall here and we're on the upper floor. I was about to pick her up when I was thrown into the collapsing wall and my head rang in silence! I stayed observant and found the Beta, enraging in his fire and gnashing teeth. "I knew I shouldn't have trusted you. You are all the same!!" He was like a wolf on fire when he smashes me with his fist and pushes me down the hall.
I'm at the disadvantage because of his fire, I just found myself being trodden, beaten, and clawed. I grasp him on his jaw, bump his head on the smooth floor and hurl him on a piano. "It's not me whom you should trust," I said. I walked away, I knew Elibur would fire at me again but someone pushed me to save me from that strong impact; the ground shakes and the wall melts.
"Hessuel, Zaeramil told me your plans. Leave this to me and go!"
"Mr. Matheo..."
He fights against Elibur to spare me the time. However, I remain. He can't defeat Elibur on his own. This is suicidal. There are times that Elibur knocks him down, but Matheo is beating him too, although the fire is a disturbance. Matheo is being beaten on the ruined piano. I buried my claws at Elibur's back and tossed him to the melted wall. I remove the hinged cuff and wear it on Matheo. His wounds recovered quickly as I expected.
"W-What are you doing—?"
"You can't defeat him. I'm not underestimating you but I'm certain you can't. Mr. Matheo, don't let your new kid meet the world without you. And don't want Zaeramil to suffer a broken family again because of me. Use it."
"No. This is not just an amulet to lend someone—!"
"Take care of the Moon's Order pack."
"Hessuel... are you... going to die?" he asked.
I left him with no answer. It is needful to find Amos now. Ahead of the way, I met Sherizzah's wolf. She shifts into a human to greet me with a hug. "Alpha, what took you so long!?"
"Many. Where's Zaeramil?"
"He's in the airship. Their Alpha is in his room!"
"... Sherizzah I have a request for you."
"Of course! What can I do?"
"Make sure Mr. Matheo and Acro are safe. Also, the woman in her yellow dress... has long hair, she's an enchantress and is pregnant. Make sure she's alright."
"O-Okay!" She hugs me again. "Please be careful."
I responded simply with a hum and left. Amos' room is quiet outside. I slammed the door and found a dark room. He's sipping wine in front of the window, watching his wolves hail my name until now.
"What's wrong, Alpha Biaco? Your tail is hiding under your ass. Your priests can't save you anymore."
"I remember now... That day in Asfara..." He laid the empty glass on the table. "So, this is what you want? instead of a peaceful oath?"
"Behold the answer."
"..." Now I can see the wrath in his eyes.
"The only way to save them is to kill me. So, if I kill you first, they shall suffer under my command."
"You're a monster."
"No. I'm the villain."
He's unleashing his fangs and claws and so am I.
"Let's end this today."
