The next day, New Year’s Day.

Even on New Year’s Day, the film crew couldn’t take a day off. Shi Su hurried to shoot a few scenes. In the afternoon, Cherry Yang came and said that she would also go to the perfume company executive’s event tonight. She urged Shi Su to dress up well and not to appear bare-faced after filming, reminding her to be more conscious of being a popular actress.

Certainly, Cherry Yang saw a not-too-obvious redness at the scar simulation spot on her fair neck.

"Having an allergy from a scar simulation? Why bother being an actress if you’re that fragile?" Cherry Yang commented sarcastically, looking at Shijiu who was helping Shi Su with her coat, "Speed up, don’t dawdle. Is Shi Su still only having you as her assistant?"

Shi Su and Shijiu both paused because of her words.

Shijiu disliked Cherry Yang but didn’t show much on her face, "Yes, Miss Yang."

Up until now, Shi Su refers to Cherry Yang as Miss Yang, while Shijiu calls her Miss Yang, maintaining a sense of distance that has never disappeared.

Cherry Yang scrutinized Shijiu for a while, "I think you are inexperienced and not suited to be an assistant for a top female star. Nowadays, it’s too easy to be an assistant for entertainers. You can casually get a manager’s certificate and intern here; a few years later, with good opportunities, you can instantly work as an assistant for small entertainers, climbing up steadily. But you seem too young. There are many artists at Yijia Entertainment now. How about I switch you to another artist to follow? I will arrange two more experienced assistants for Shi Su."

Shi Su pressed her hand on Shijiu’s and turned back, saying, "No need. Shijiu has been with me for quite some time. Didn’t we all start as newcomers? Before working as an assistant, she at least had a manager’s certificate, proving she entered this circle through proper assessment and using proper means. Normally, she protects me well; there’s no need for too many assistants. Having such a considerate one is enough."

Of course, Cherry Yang could hear the sarcasm in Shi Su’s words, implying that she rose through connections without any qualification exams, stepping into the entertainment industry solely due to her relationship with Mr. Chen from Yijia Entertainment.

A few days ago, Shi Su had been keeping a low profile. Although she wasn’t under her control, she clearly tolerated many things beneath the surface, at least not openly mocking.

Today, she seemed covered in thorns, obviously trying to stir trouble.

"Moreover, as far as I know, although Miss Yang, you are now my manager, the company only assigned you the job coordination. Cherry Yang stood at the RV door, looked at the two, and said coldly, "Shi Su, though I’m a new manager for you, Cen Jun’s studio has been disbanded. The employees will return to Yijia Entertainment to await reassignment. Having only one assistant is insufficient, including the need to replace the bodyguards. These are mere words from me. Pausing here, Cherry Yang smirked coldly, "I say Shijiu should leave, and tomorrow she’ll be paid off and out the Yijia Entertainment door. Do you believe me?"

"I believe." Shi Su didn’t even turn her head, continuing to let Shijiu fix hair accidentally tucked in her collar, calmly replying towards the direction behind her, "Why not ask Miss Yang to settle my film and endorsement fees, and drive me out of Yijia Entertainment as well?"

Cherry Yang paused and then laughed directly, "That would be difficult. Even if you can afford a 20 million breach penalty, the commercials and contracts held by the company that you’ve recently endorsed aren’t easy to abandon. I could let you go, but the company might not be able to break the contract with you."

Shi Su said no more, her hair was done, she put on her coat, and intended to leave.

Watching Shi Su’s plain face, Cherry Yang felt displeased. Shi Su’s indifference and disrespect were clearly slapping her in the face.
