Chapter 220: Chapter 220 - 218: Jing Jihan Walks Over and Touches Her...

Shi Su didn’t speak because her hands were wrapped in the blanket, and it wasn’t easy to change positions in front of Jing Jihan.

She simply wrapped herself tightly in the blanket and squirmed on the bed, eventually burying her head under the pillow to remain silent.

But she was afraid Jing Jihan might make a comment: Like an emperor’s concubine’s first night in the chamber, shy and uncomfortable.

So she simply squirmed further to the other side of the bed, moving to the edge to keep a safe distance from him, then stopped moving and continued to bury her head under the pillow.

Standing coldly by the bedside, Jing Jihan looked down at the little woman who was particularly neurotic, sensitive, and emotionally fragile today. Considering her emotional turmoil earlier, he didn’t provoke her further and turned to leave the room.

Shi Su heard the door open and close. She poked her head slightly from under the pillow, glanced at the door, then buried it back under the pillow, exhaling deeply as if the events of the evening had finally allowed her to relax and reflect with calm nerves.

Her phone, lying on the sofa not far away, kept ringing. It seemed to have gone off many times already, likely calls from the crew and Jun and Chujio anxiously searching for her, since she had disappeared for so long without going to the set or leaving any message.

But she had no desire to move or the energy to do so, keeping her eyes closed.

The phone continued to ring incessantly in the room. In those few hours of collapsing responsibility, Shi Su’s determination wasn’t enough to answer it. Tired and sleepy, she succumbed to slumber amidst the relentless ringing, unable to decide whether to pick up or ignore the call.

Jun was on the set, frazzled, not solely because the crew had been relentlessly urging, leading to everyone’s anger over the delay in Shi Su’s arrival at the scene.

But because Shi Su wasn’t answering anyone’s calls, though her phone was not turned off or out of service.

This unresponsiveness for several hours was truly worrying.

"What time is it now? Still no contact with Shi Su?"

"What about the driver? Could you reach him?"

"Nobody can be reached?"

"What’s going on? Can two grown people just disappear?"

"Keep calling, find them quickly!"

The sky had long turned dark, and having waited long enough, the crew decided to shoot other scenes with additional cast members, needing an explanation for Shi Su’s situation, but first, she had to be found.

Not just Jun and Chujio, but everyone in the crew suspected something might have happened to Shi Su since even the driver who was supposed to pick her up was also unreachable, with no signal at all.

The director was furious, while Jun was more upset at the problematic arrangement of the driver by the team, wondering if an incident involving the driver had affected Shi Su.

Yet it was no time for mutual blame.

Jun took a taxi back to Junkai Hotel, finding no trace of Shi Su, with the staff only mentioning that they saw Miss Shi Su leaving in a car earlier that afternoon and she hadn’t returned since.

Panicked, Jun felt helpless but unable to report to the police since Shi Su had only been missing for a few hours, not enough to file a case.

Shi Su’s phone remained unanswered.

About fifteen minutes after Shi Su fell asleep, the door opened again.

Jing Jihan returned, glanced at her still-ringing phone, picked it up to see her agent had called, and noticed over twenty missed calls.

He answered the call.

Jun, on the other side, expected another bout of unanswered waiting, only to suddenly hear the phone connect. Momentarily stunned, she burst out angrily after a pause: "You scared me! Why didn’t you answer sooner? Where are you?"

"Shi Su can’t return today; I’m asking for a few days’ leave on her behalf."

A man’s voice came through the phone.

Jun froze in place, as if struck by lightning.

After a moment, she instinctively asked, "Mr. Jing?!"

"Yes."

"What happened to Shi Su? Did something happen to her?"

"A small accident occurred, but she’s fine now. She’s sleeping, and she’ll contact you herself when she’s feeling better."

Jing Jihan didn’t elaborate further, only added: "Let her rest for a few days."

With that, he ended the call and placed the phone back on the sofa.

Hearing Jing Jihan’s conversation in her semi-conscious state, Shi Su stirred slightly. With her limbs wrapped up, she couldn’t move, but after muffling under the pillow for a bit, she peeked out to continue sleeping, although restlessly. She half-opened her eyes to find out what had happened upon hearing the noise.

Jing Jihan approached, brushed aside the hair from her forehead, ensuring the area covered with a gauze where the medication was applied wasn’t disturbed by her tossing, then lightly patted her face: "If you’re awake, get up to eat something before going back to sleep."

Shi Su drowsily turned her head, looking at him with slightly widened eyes. A mere ten-minute nap had calmed her significantly, and in a lazy, indistinct voice, she asked, "What to eat?"

As soon as she finished speaking, there was a knock at the door, and Jing Jihan went to open it.

The hotel staff handed in shopping bags: "Sir, here are two sets of clothes from Z City’s mall, tailored to your specifications. If they don’t fit upon trial, we’ll send someone to exchange them immediately."

Jing Jihan took them, closed the door, and returned to the bedside. Having heard the sound at the door, Shi Su was more awake, struggling to sit up wrapped in the blanket, staring at him with sleepy eyes: "Weren’t we supposed to eat?"

Now, everything she said and felt was purely instinctual.

After releasing great mental pressure, indeed, one becomes noticeably hungry.

Especially since Shi Su hadn’t eaten much for lunch, rushed to the set in the afternoon without eating, and now it was already past eight in the evening, she was indeed hungry.

"Are you planning to eat wrapped in a blanket?" Jing Jihan placed the shopping bag on the bed: "There’s a set of clothes for you inside, change first."

With that, he took another shopping bag and headed into the bathroom.

Shi Su assumed he must have ordered a set of men’s clothes as well, since his shirt was either stained with blood or water, making it unwearable.

Hearing the sound of running water from the bathroom, she guessed Jing Jihan was taking a shower before changing clothes. Only then did she emerge from the blanket, taking out the clothes from the bag to change, finding a set of underwear tucked beneath.

Shi Su swiftly put them on, avoiding the thought of why the size was so fitting, then dressed in the outerwear.

It was a soft, comfortable women’s suit in a tasteful, muted color.

She then casually glanced at the receipt inadvertently left inside by the hotel staff, catching sight of the Dior logo and noting the amount displayed: thirty-six thousand eight hundred.
