Chapter 92: Chapter 92
The Next Morning…
Because it was the weekend, Annie spent a long time in bed, going through her phone. After getting prepared for the day, she didn’t feel like leaving the apartment.
As for the man, who knew where he was? She didn’t even wake up to find him in bed.
Annie sighed and patted the side of her neck, stretching it sideways. It had been long since she shared the same bed with another person, so her body was still finding it difficult to adjust to this new situation.
And who had she ever shared a bed with apart from the man?
The pain soon went away and a headline caught her eyes in the company’s forum. Someone had posted something funny again.
::: Didn’t The Emperor Himself Set up No Romance Rule?
“Annonymous Kitty, are you blind? The Emperor might be staring at the beauty, but he’s an upright man.”
“Hey, It’s not like the emperor has a heart of stone. Tell me, if a man keeps looking at a woman, what does that mean?”
“Who wouldn’t look at a beauty when she’s the glimmer in the room? Even I was looking at the beauty once in a while.”
“How many beauties are there in MystiArt Productions? A lot, right? Anonymous Kitty, do you want to land yourself in trouble?”
“So what if the beauty caught the emperor’s eyes? Are you guys just jealous? You know you can’t deny that there’s something going on.”
“It doesn’t concern you.”
“You silly Kitty, are you saying our emperor is a fickle man? He set up the rule himself, do you mean he’s about to break it?”
“Ah, don’t put me in trouble, that’s not what I meant.”
“Then bring that article down this instant before the emperor’s guards catch you. You might as well start packing your things and prepare to get fired.”
“No! This kitty is only a poor pauper. Please don’t do this to her. Haven’t we been tight buddies before?”
“We’re no longer friends with anyone that tries to badmouth the emperor. Anonymous Kitty, go fend for yourself.”
At a particular apartment, one anonymous Kitty was shedding bitter tears. Thinking that hyping up the news which had already died down would drag attention to the couple, she didn’t expect it to suddenly backfire.
Obviously, all the employees now see the CEO as their idol. If she dared bring up anything about the CEO having eyes for one of his employees again, she might as well be dead meat.
Urgh! But she knew what she saw.
Anonymous Kitty::: Forget The Emperor, Who Else Saw How The Knight Was Chasing After The Beauty Last Evening?
Every employee in the HR Department had seen how the Manager chased after the girl yesterday when work was almost over. They had all been curious about what was happening and had been hungry since then for some gossip.
“It appears your days are about to be over in MystiArt Productions, Anonymous Kitty. Do you have a special grudge against the beauty and we don’t know?”
“Someone please track down this Anonymous Kitty and reveal her ID. We the employees of MystiArt Productions won’t tolerate such busybodies.”
“Anonymous Kitty, don’t let me catch you. If you’re a guy, I’ll beat you to a pulp. And If you’re a girl, I’ll pull your hair out!”
The Kitty wiped her tears and collapsed on her bed with a sigh. Were they the same employees who would gossip all day in the forum?
They all seemed to have turned new leaves. What was happening?
Well, after the general conference, the employees knew well to mind their business more than gossiping about someone’s private life which didn’t even concern them.
With the high chance that something big would happen in the company soon, they would rather step up their games, and maybe their success would be rapid too.
The Arts Department’s Manager was a case study to them, and the CEO just gave them new hope.
The probability was high that more employees would be recruited soon, and more positions would be open. They didn’t know what was in for them, but they definitely would not slack off.
At the forum, someone suddenly opened up a group chat.
::: If You’re A Serious Employee, Join The Chat To Mingle With Like-Minded People. Only The Employees from The PR Department are allowed to join.
Someone also opened another group chat.
::: This is Only for The Serious Employees In The Marketing Department. If You’re Lazy, Keep Out!
Another group was also opened.
::: The Arts Department Will Not Be Left Behind- I mean, The Arts/Innovation Department. If You Want To Be As Ambitious As Our Manager, Join The Chat.
::: See These Little Rats. So What If They Have Their Own Group Chats? As The CEO’s Secretaries, We’re The Best. Girls, Let’s Dive Into Our Own Chat Room Too.
In no time, The MystiArt Productions Forum was bombarded with group chat invitation notifications.
Not one department was left out. Even the company’s security now had their own group chat. At this sudden turn of events, Annie couldn’t help but chuckle at what was going on.
“Mr. Lim, you only said a few words, and these people are willing to work like machines. What will be MystiArt Productions’ fate in the next few years?”
She was speaking to no one in particular as she was still the only person in the apartment. The forum was still buzzing with group invite notifications when a sound came from the living room and Annie dropped her phone and stood up.
Following the sound of the bell, she walked straight to the door and opened it.
“Ms. Lin.” Mr. Zhang looked as if he hadn’t slept the night before. “I am here to convince you further. Maybe Ms. Lin will have a change of mind. MystiArt Productions will no longer be the same, please withdraw your resignation request and come to the HR Department.”
Mr. Zhang had intentionally driven slowly last night so he could have more time to convince the girl. However, she was unyielding and he had to drop her off with a heavy heart.
It didn’t mean he would give up so easily. He still had a lot of time to coax her. And maybe, also get her to accept his confession.
