Chapter 119: Chapter 119
A General Meeting was soon called.
Not only the IT Department’s Manager, but also every other Manager in MystiArt Productions was summoned to attend the meeting.
They were all waiting in anxiousness. Some who had already gotten a whiff of what it must be about couldn’t hide their anxiety. Some of them on the other hand were confused about why the CEO suddenly summoned all of them.
“Mr. Ju’an, how unfortunate. I heard your Department is in trouble. I hope you didn’t do anything wrong.” Mr. Song expressed his worry as he sat beside the Arts Department’s Manager.
Jason looked at Mr. Wang who was sitting opposite him and he only shook his head. “It is nothing to worry about, Mr. Song. Please put your mind at ease.”
As if he already knew what was on the ground, the guy appeared calm. Unlike the other Managers, only he and Mr. Wang didn’t look bothered.
Mr. Wang was not anxious because he knew what he did. He patted the IT Department’s Manager on the shoulder and gave him a proud look.
“Mr. Yang, who knew you would finally switch to our side? Apart from dealing with that girl, you also made the CEO do our bidding. Mr. Yang, you truly are a great friend.”
Mr. Wang spoke in a tone only both of them could hear. Mr. Yang didn’t even look at him as the man constantly fanned himself with a document.
Mr. Wang laughed. He didn’t bother that the man was ignoring him. To Mr. Wang, Mr. Yang was able to coax the CEO to sign on the result and posted it on the forum.
Mr. Wang didn’t care that no employee was chosen from the Arts Department. His princess wasn’t interested in that position anyways.
What Mr. Wang didn’t know was that: The CEO didn’t even sign on the document yet. It was all part of Mr. Yang’s tactics.
The tactics that Mr. Yang was afraid would backfire.
The meeting room buzzed with the men’s murmurs as they all spoke out their confusion. A few minutes went by before the CEO finally arrived and they all composed themselves.
“I believe we were all in the middle of work before this meeting was called.” The man didn’t even sit on his chair and he started speaking, “I won’t waste our time, I will go to the point.”
He glanced across the Managers, his eyes falling on the IT Department’s Manager and Mr. Wang.
“Mr. Yang.” He went on. “Could you tell everyone your offense?”
Mr. Yang stood up and sighed with a crestfallen look. “Mr. Lim, I won’t argue. It is my fault for not waiting for your orders first before posting the result on the forum. You can punish me, Mr. Lim.”
“Is that all?” The man asked, as if he didn’t believe him.
Mr. Yang hesitated. “That is all, Mr. Lim. I also have to apologize for implicating your name. If Mr. Lim won’t mind, I would like to personally apologize to the Arts Department’s Manager and Its employees.”
Andrew stared at the man amusingly. He wasn’t smiling, but one could tell he was studying Mr. Yang keenly.
“Mr. Yang, I will repeat. Is there something else you have to say?”
Mr. Yang hung his head, his heart beating rapidly. For a few seconds, he didn’t speak as he struggled to compose himself. When he looked up, he gave the same answer. “I hope Mr. Lim will pardon my mistake. I promise this will never happen again.”
Everyone was surprised at the exchange between the two. It was as if the CEO was trying to get a word out of the man.
However, Mr. Yang looked as if he was hiding something. He didn’t put on a stubborn look, but every Manager could tell he was adamant not to speak.
This time, even Mr. Wang looked confused. The man was also a bit apprehensive. He thought the CEO was on their side. Why was the CEO questioning Mr. Yang again and again? And why did Mr. Yang make it seem as if it was a total error from his side?
“Mistakes can be overlooked. I hope you stand by your words, Mr. Yang. Next time, I won’t be lenient.”
The CEO’s words were like heavy loads lifted off Mr. Yang’s shoulders. He staggered in relief and thanked him profusely.
“Mr. Lim, I can’t thank you enough. Be rest assured, I won’t repeat this mistake. I will do what is right immediately. I’ll consult with the Arts Department’s Manager and pick out the most competent employees for the secretaries’ position. If I had waited for your signature, I would have been able to know that something was missing. Mr. Lim has a keen eye for details. I look up to you.”
Everyone was surprised at the outcome, including Mr. Wang and the Arts Department’s Manager.
Jason looked between Mr. Wang and Mr. Yang, but he didn’t say anything.
Mr. Wang looked at Mr. Yang in disbelief. He opened his mouth and wanted to talk, but then he realized the CEO was still in the room and he wasn’t supposed to speak without permission.
Even if he was given permission, what could he say, anyway?
“In that case, I will say what really prompted me to call this meeting.” The CEO’s eyes left Mr. Yang and he looked at the other Managers.
“I won’t tolerate injustice in MystiArt Productions. Bullying the employees is out of the question. As higher-ups, you must know that involving personal feelings in work brings forth consequences.”
He especially looked at Mr. Wang and the Arts Department’s Manager. “If the employees are treated unjustly, don’t expect to be treated otherwise. The rules of this company do not only apply to the employees. If the higher-ups can’t set a good example, do not assume you will be treated nicely.”
Both the good and the bad managers were intimidated by this man’s words. So he didn’t only call the meeting to reprimand Mr. Yang. This was the important announcement he wanted to make.
Mr. Wang shrank in his seat. He could feel that the man was directly speaking to him. Seriously, he was confused. He couldn’t help but look at Mr. Yang for the umpteenth time.
The IT Department’s Manager was honest, but he wasn’t a dumb person. By striking out the names of the employees from the Arts Department, did he do it intentionally or was it just a mistake?
