Chapter 118: Chapter 118

In the CEO’s office…

Assistant Jiang stood beside the angry man with a contemplative look on his face. The man’s dark expression had the assistant thinking if he should show him what was happening on the forum or not.

Already, he was mad at the IT Department’s Manager. If he saw the announcement on the forum, wouldn’t he flare up?

“Assistant Jiang, are you dumb? I told you to get him here.” The man looked at him with a frown.

Ah! How could the assistant forget his Boss’s orders? If he hadn’t been contemplating, he would have raced down to the IT Department and dragged its Manager here.

However, this news…

Andrew noticed the assistant’s strange behavior. The guy’s hand was shaking with the tablet. He looked at the device and narrowed his eyes.

“What is it?” His question confirmed that he knew the assistant was hiding something from him. He didn’t wait for Assistant Jiang to react and he snatched the tablet.

“M-Mr. Lim…” The assistant wasn’t sure if letting him see it was the best thing. Although he wanted him to read the announcement, he was afraid of what might come next.

While reading the announcement and skimming through the employees’ comments, the man’s expression darkened further, just the way the assistant suspected.

“They think it is my fault.” He said in a low tone. When his eyes fell on her name below the article, his expression shifted and he suddenly chuckled.

Assistant Jiang wanted to run, but he was confused. His boss just became madder, why did he laugh?

“She is gutsy, isn’t she?”

“Y-You mean, Mrs. Lim?”

“Who else would I talk about?” The man gave him a glare and Assistant Jiang maintained some distance from him.

He gulped and nodded eagerly. “Y- You’re right. Boss, Mrs. Lim is truly gutsy taking your name to the forum. Ah! Isn’t she brave? No employee dares to challenge you, Mr. Lim. Surely, Mrs. Lim lives up to her reputation as your wife. She isn’t a normal girl, of course, she’s confident and-“

“Shut up.” The man cut him off, giving him a hard look.

Assistant Jiang gulped again. He wanted to placate the matter, but the employees had taken it too far by accusing his Boss.

The man had nothing to do with what happened, it was all the IT Manager’s fault. “Don’t worry, B-Boss. I am sure if you can explain everything to Mrs. Lim, she won’t prolong the matter. Mrs. Lim is considerate and kind, she’ll let things go easily.”

“You-“ Obviously, the man wasn’t pleased by the assistant’s words.

Knowing well not to speak about Mrs. Lim further, Assistant Jiang quickly asked, “Boss- Mr. Lim, how can we tackle this issue? If the employees start thinking you have something against them, won’t it lower their spirits?”

The Arts Department was an important department in the whole company. If the employees got discouraged, it would greatly affect the company’s manpower.

His Boss had not returned his tablet to him, and the assistant watched as he logged into his profile in the company’s forum.

For the first time, the man made an announcement on the forum himself. The assistant watched in disbelief as his Boss typed a few words.

:::From The CEO

[MystiArt Productions stands on its ground of treating the employees fairly. The Arts Department is not excluded. The misunderstanding will be resolved soon.]

While the forum bustled with the employees’ comments, Andrew didn’t wait to look at them. He tossed the tablet back to the assistant and then stood up.

“Mr. Lim…”

“Doesn’t this sound fishy? Why is it that only the Arts Department was excluded?”

If he hadn’t seen the complaint, he wouldn’t have even noticed that the Arts Department’s employees were excluded. So that was why her name didn’t appear.

The man had been mad initially because they didn’t even wait for his approval before posting the result. However, he was more angry when the employees accused him of something he had no knowledge of.

“Does the IT Department perhaps have something against the Arts Department?” Assistant Jiang thought out loud.

The man shook his head and chuckled. Maybe that wasn’t what he thought.

It was a surprise that Mr. Yang would do such things. At one glance, one could tell that man was honest. Who could think that he was also clever?

“What have you done, you silly girl? I thought you said this plan would work.”

“Mr. Yang, don’t worry. I don’t think this will implicate us.”

The IT Department’s Manager gave his assistant a displeased look. “We have just landed ourselves in the CEO’s bad books. We could placate the matter easily if the employees hadn’t gotten involved.”

Mr. Yang stared at his tablet and read the announcement on the forum again. He was correct in thinking that that girl wasn’t normal. She was even brave enough to stand up for the Arts Department.

He had to commend her bravery, however, he himself was in big trouble. If the CEO got mad at him, he would stop dreaming about working in this company.

It was all thanks to Mr. Wu and Mr. Wang. Those cunning men.

“Mr. Yang.” His assistant held his arm, giving him a soft look. “Just trust me. Don’t panic. Although I foresaw consequences, I hoped this plan would work well. It is in everyone’s favor, after all.”

“Hey, I’m not mad at you.” Mr. Yang sighed. “I’m just worried that the CEO won’t take it lightly, Dear.”

Mr. Yang didn’t care about the employees’ accusations towards him. He had done justice to the results and those chosen truly deserved the position.

What bothered him was what if their plan backfired. Both he and his assistant didn’t want to fall victim to those sly men. But wasn’t it better than getting on the CEO’s bad side?

“Mr. Yang, your phone is ringing.”

The IT Manager was holding hands with his assistant when the sound of his phone jolted them, making them quickly separate.

The girl picked up his phone and gave it to him. When Mr. Yang heard the voice from the other end, the man’s heart sank.

“Dear, if we get into trouble, I promise to protect you.”

“What trouble, Mr. Yang?”
