Chapter 112: Chapter 112

After hanging up, the frown on Mr. Yang’s face even became deeper. “What is that man up to?” He looked at his assistant who had also heard the conversation.

“Mr. Wu is a cunning man. Is it that someone offended him?” She put on an exasperated look. “What are we going to do now? Obviously, that man wants to make you his puppet.”

“What do you think we should do?”

“The right thing of course.” His assistant gave him a look that he already knew the answer. “Defying Mr. Wu’s orders is like a free ticket out of MystiArt Productions. If it’s some insignificant employee, let’s just do it and get that man off our back.”

“But you know I don’t indulge in such things.”

“If this is the only way to save our jobs, why not? It is not like we are going to chase that employee out of MystiArt Productions. The employee might not even be qualified, who knows?”

Mr. Yang sank into a deep thought. “You are wrong. An employee that Mr. Wu himself wants to bring down shouldn’t be someone underqualified. That person must be overqualified for this position. Otherwise, why would that sly man even waste his time?”

While the IT Department Manager and his Assistant argued, a text notification popped up in his phone and he picked it up.

Reading the employee’s information, the Manager frowned. “Come see, this girl looks familiar. Do you know her?”

“Eh?” The assistant looked at the phone’s screen. “Isn’t this the girl who became popular overnight in MystiArt Productions?”

The assistant was always active on the company’s forum so she had an inkling of what might be going on. “Mr. Yang, it says here that she’s the Assistant Manager of the HR Department. Who doesn’t know about the feud going on between her and Mr. Wang’s daughter?”

“So that sly man wants to involve us in someone’s love triangle?” Mr. Yang didn’t look pleased.

“How I wish the news about no romance was announced early. These kinds of things are a headache,” His assistant grumbled.

“Hey, be quiet. That rule doesn’t make sense to me.” The IT Manager looked at his assistant dotingly and she blushed.

“Yeah, whatever… We shouldn’t risk our jobs anyway. We can’t offend Mr. Wang and Mr. Wu, you know.”

The Manager sighed and nodded. Honestly, he wanted to do the right thing.

So, it was announced on the forum.

::: Everyone Who Applied For A Secretary Position Should Get Ready. The Result Will Come Out Tomorrow.

“Finally, we will be able to know our fates.”

“I heard the IT Department will make the judgment. Hopefully, they don’t play silly games.”

“The IT Department has one of the upright Managers in MystiArt Productions. Don’t expect any silly games. Mr. Yang is an honest man.”

“That’s right. I have heard great things about Mr. Yang. So our fate only lies in our own hands. Anyone that doesn’t work hard shouldn’t expect to be promoted.”

“Since Mr. Yang is compassionate, he can have mercy on some of us, right?”

“Mr. Yang is only allowed to choose a few people. Don’t dream about mercy. If you’re qualified, you shouldn’t worry.”

“Well, I think I’m going to have a sleepless night. Tomorrow, I’ll finally know if I have a chance with the CEO or not.”

“Girl, you are making your intentions public. Aren’t you afraid?”

“Why should I be? Mr. Yang is an upright man. He won’t mind if an employee likes the CEO or not. He will just follow the necessary procedure and pick any employee that’s qualified.”

“Don’t use Mr. Yang’s uprightness to your advantage. You might chase yourself out of the game before it even starts.”

Mr. Yang’s sweat kept pouring as he read the employees’ comments. The more upright they call him, the more uncertain he felt.

“Isn’t there another way to go about this?” He looked at his assistant.

The girl shook her head and sighed. “There is only one way, Mr. Yang. If we do that, however, we won’t only be offending Mr. Wu and Mr. Wang. Should we really risk our lives for just one employee?”

“What is the way? Just tell me.”

His assistant gave him a helpless look and opened her mouth.

In the Arts Department, the employees were also going through the forum. Even though It was the lunch break, none of them had left their cubicles yet.

“How many girls applied for that position in this department?” A male employee looked up from his tablet and asked.

“What do you expect? Every girl applied, of course,” Mia answered him.

“Isn’t that unfair?” The employee whined. “It makes me think that the male employees in MystiArt Productions are not valuable. Will you girls even get the CEO at the end of the day?”

“Piece back your broken hearts and just face your work. It is not that the male employees are not competent. Compared to the CEO, you guys are just a speck of dust beside a mountain.”

“Ah, that’s brutal, Mia. Watch the way you speak.”

“Come on, Just accept it. I didn’t need to point the truth out. You guys already know it.”

“A-Actually, I didn’t apply.” A timid voice came from one of the cubicles. “I don’t think it is worthy to waste my time. I know I won’t be qualified.”

Everyone stared at Sabrina as if she had gone crazy.

“Girl, it seems you underestimate yourself too much. Everyone knows you’re one of the greatest Artists in this department. Are you, perhaps, afraid of the CEO?”

“Not really.” Sabrina played with her fingers. “Even the idols we admire on TV already have partners. The CEO is at this stage- will anyone believe that he’s single? Aren’t we all wasting our time? Besides, there’s too much competition, I should better save myself the mental stress.”

“Urgh! Sabrina, you’re so stupid.” Mia rolled her eyes. “Even a married man can be snatched nowadays, talk more of a man who everyone knows to be single.”

“Sabrina is the most sensible. I agree with her reasoning, Guys.” A male employee agreed.

“Mrs. Ju’an didn’t also apply, so we can say it is only she and Sabrina who aren’t after the CEO’s secretary’s position in this department.”

Priscilla was on her way out of the Manager’s office when she heard that. Her eyes fell on Sabrina and she glared at the girl.

“So I have people copying me in this department and I don’t know!?” She snapped. Apparently, she wasn’t pleased.
