Chapter 33: Chapter 33
This short story is different from the book above and have no relation with it.
Chapter One
I waited outside the class for my girlfriend Jess. Her teacher was still teaching, even though the bell had rung, indicating that students should go to their next class. It annoyed me. These types of teachers did not know when to shut up and let their students go. Standing outside this classroom, a hand in my pocket and my back against the wall, I stared up at the ceiling.
Who would have thought that one day, I would wait outside a classroom, for my "Girlfriend". Yeah, so-called Girlfriend, so that I could escort her to the next class? But I was. Even though this whole scenario was so far-fetched, it was happening.
I was the guy who never took a girl seriously, or had a relationship with one for that matter, especially when I was good-looking and could have any girl without much effort. But here I was, waiting for my girlfriend. Who knew a silly bet to win over the most unreachable girl in school, could turn out to be like this? Good enough for a guy like me, to get into a relationship with a girl.
This whole ordeal was weird. But, hey, I get to keep my reputation among boys, so what else can I ask for?
My train of thought was broken when I suddenly heard many footsteps at once. I straightened and looked over people who walked out of class all at once. Students walked out without paying me any attention.
I saw some girls giving me a second glance but I did not care. I did not return their glance of interest. They can look, but they can't have me. I was reserved for one now.
I waited until Jess walked out and saw me standing on the side of her classroom, waiting for her. She gave me one of her brightest smiles and I returned it. I pulled her from the crowd to my side and kissed her head.
At first, when my friends pointed it out to me, that she was a bitch or came off as a one, I believed them. However, soon, I found out that she was one of those girls who liked to act tough and rough so that people would leave them alone. Cold exterior but soft interior. And I can tell from seeing her, she was soft from inside.
I can feel that softness beside me as she plastered herself to my side.
Both of us began walking to her next class. We entered the hallway. I could smell her fragrance, it smelled good. I leaned a little closer to her neck and inhaled, closing my eyes, smelling it.
"You are going for your soccer practice next, right?" Jess asked me. I pulled myself back slowly and hummed.
"Yes. It'll start in a few minutes." I told her.
"Oh, there are your friends." She informed me, waving outside. We had reached her class.
I looked outside, to see where she was waving and saw my friends, Chad, Ryle, and James looking our way. They gave a salute in return for Jess's wave before Ryle's eyes moved to me and he gave me a mischievous smirk. Telling me without speaking that I was becoming a wimp. That bastard.
I returned his smirk with mine, before leaning down and whispering in Jess's ear, "You smell good. Will you give me a taste later?" I asked her. As expected she became instantly shy, looking at the ground. From a girl, who walked around with a bitchy face before she met me of course, who would have thought that she was shy. Who would even assume that shyness would be one of her traits but here she was.
I kissed her cheek and sent her off to her next class, she waved to me before going in. I smiled.
Finally, leaving the hallway, I walked outside to the ground where I will play soccer. All of my friends were smirking at me. I knew what was going on in their head. Sick idiots. If they only knew the things that were going on in my mind.
"So, I take it, your relationship is going good with your girlfriend?" Chad asked, knowing the answer already.
His emphasis on Girlfriend made all my friends laugh. Jess would not be my girlfriend if it were not for his bet. It all began as fun and games but, that did not mean, I was not serious about her now. Although, it was true that at first, I only took up that challenge because I found it intriguing and I was bored and wanted to feel like taking on a challenge. And she was a challenge, for sure.
Not to mention, I was bored out of my mind from picking the same girls over and over again. All guys want something new, some spice in their lives, and at the time, Jess was that spice for me.
At first, she was with me like she was with everyone. A serious face and a snarky tongue. But soon enough, I began making my way into her life. I tore her walls down one by one and felt her crumble to my charms. I took interest in her life so much that I became a part of it. It felt good breaking down her hard cold walls, just to see her soft side.
However, soon, the interest I took in her lifestyle just to get in her life, became real. I began seeing her as a really interesting person. She showed me one side that she kept hidden from everyone else. Not long after that, she had all my attention as I had hers. And that's how we come to be like this.
"Why, jealous?" I asked Chad and we all let out laughter.
"Maybe we should place another bet, this time for you." I suggested it to Chad and he threw his soccer ball at me. I caught it right before it hit my chest.
"I don't wanna become whipped like you." He said as I threw my bag on the bench beside their bags.
"Nah. He's just jealous that you have something warm with you every night when he doesn't." Ryle chimed in.
"Fuck you. I have something warm to hold on to every night. And for that, I did not have to be whipped like him." Chad replied. He tied his shoes and stood up.
"Talk about your conquest later. We have to get on with practice otherwise we would not need anything to keep us warm. Instead, our backs would be warm from getting whooped." James told us.
I gave him a finger and then all of us got on with practice.
