Adrianna POV.

I have been so busy since I killed Victor. Ivy has gotten over the pain she had gone through. I really blamed myself for not figuring it out. We have been trying to track down Elijah but he has gotten very good at hiding. I haven't been given any job to assassinate him but the fact that he is holding women hostage makes me want to kill him. I am an assassin therefore I have done some jobs for him but I have never killed the innocent. Before I kill someone, I always do a background check on them. Lily and Ivy have gotten pretty close but Ivy knows that she can't include her into our lifestyle. We employed her as our housekeep so that Maria can at least get some rest. They have been helping each other since she got well. While Lilly works in our house, Maria works in her other employer's house.

I found out that Lily got cancer when she completed her senior highschool. Right now, she is working extra hard so that she can save money to join a college. Even though Ivy doesn't show it, I know she is jealous of her and wants to be like her. To have a normal life, perfect and loving family, friends and even go to school. Maybe she can do some highschool online classes.

I have been working on how to make makeup products and even started taking classes. I want to open my own Beauty Company. Now that Victor is gone, we can do anything we want. Apparently, he left all his money for both of us. He was a billionaire which made us become richer. Ace has been trying to track me down. I just wonder when that guy would lose hope on finding where I live. Maybe I will pay him a visit soon.

I got out of my office and walked to Ivy's office. I heard some voices coming from the room. I recognized them as hers and Lilly's. Yes, I like the girl but she seems to be so idle since most of the times she spends it at Ivy's office.

"I just can't wait to go to college. I will work so hard there so that I get a perfect job and become rich," she said.

"It is a good plan," Ivy answered.

"Of course it is. I always have good plans," she said.

There we go again with her praising herself.

"After that, I will stop working as a maid," she said and there was silence. I wondered why Ivy was silent.

"You talk as if we treat you as a maid here," Ivy said.

"Yes, you do. I am the only one who cooks, washing dishes, doing the laundry and even cleaning the house," she said and I heard Ivy sigh.

"You are unbelievable, you know that!" Ivy snapped.

"What? What have I done?" She asked.

"You complain about work and you don't wake up early in the morning to prepare us breakfast. You only cook lunch and furthermore, you only work once a week and you are complaining?" Ivy asked her.

"One gets tired Ivy. You have never done such work. You have been brought up in luxury where maids are there for you even now when you are a grown up, you and your sister have one," she said.

"And you think staying here is not tiresome?" Ivy asked her.

"Of course, you are just sitting there looking at the computer," she said.

"You are unbelievable and so ungrateful. You better not let Adrianna hear you cause she would fire you," Ivy said angrily.

"What! Why would she give me? U have done nothing wrong!" She said,

Does this girl get that Ivy doesn't want to talk to her? I had eavesdropped enough and it was time to walk in.

"What are you guys talking about?" I asked when I entered.

"Nothing," Ivy said.

"About work," Lilly said.

"What about work?" I asked her.

"Just tiresome," she said and I rolled my eyes.

"Stop being lazy Lilly. We don't give you a lot of work to do. Maybe if you go and work in another house, you will realise how much we favour you," I said.

"But.." I interrupted her.

"Not another word. I was at the door and I had wanted both of you to talk," I told them.

"If only you had shut up," Ivy told her.

"Can you go and prepare lunch for us," I told her but it came out harshly. She nodded her head and quickly left. I know that she is afraid of me but I don't care.

"How are you doing?" I asked Ivy.

"I'm good," she said and continued to work on her computer.

"Come on, you know you can talk to me right?" I said as I moved closer to her.

"It's nothing," she insisted.

"I know that there is something bothering you. Now tell me," I said.

"It's just that Lily is so happy that she would be going to school," she said.

"You are jealous of that?" I asked.

"Of course I am Adrianna. We were always homeschooled throughout our lives. Not that I am complaining but we don't even have a degree," she said and she was at the edge of crying.

"Hei, don't cry. Let her be. There is no reason as to why you should be jealous of her. You have so many things that she doesn't have," I said.

"Why did we have to have this kind of life, Adrianna?" She asked and I let out a sigh.

"Let me ask you something. Do you prefer being homeless to this kind of life we are living in?" I asked her.

"No. This is better than that," she answered.

"Do you prefer not being educated at all to being homeschooled?" I asked.

"Homeschooled," she said.

"Now tell me Ivy, why are you stressing yourself over petty things? We could have been on the streets right now, with no home, clothes, food and even the slightest education. Don't feel bad. This is our life. Let her live hers," I said and she immediately hugged me.

"I am sorry for not appreciating what we have," she said.

"No need to apologise," I said.

We remained in each other's embrace for a little longer.

"Now, if you want to get a degree, you can apply for online classes and you know that right?" I asked and she nodded her head.

"That is what I will actually do," she said.

"Great. Now wipe those tears and apply. I will be in my office if you need anything," I said as I left.

I went back to my office. Just when I had begun working, my other phone, which clients call me when they need me to kill someone, started ringing.

"Bet we will have some fun tonight!!"

I picked up the phone. Ivy had designed it in a way that changed my voice to a man's.

"Hello,"

"Hello, is this The Poison?" The man said.

"Yes, how much I help you?" I asked.

"My daughter is among the kids who were kidnapped three weeks ago," he said and I realised he was talking about the hostages Elijah has.

"Okay. What do you want then?" I asked.

"Her grandfather has just called and informed me that on her birthday, he had gifted her a necklace. He says that it has a tracker in it," he said.

Did I just hear correctly?

Does this mean that we finally found the hostages?

"We can't go to rescue her alone and we were wondering whether you can help us in that. I will pay you a huge amount," he said.

"Where does the tracker say she is?" I asked.

"It claims 25 kilometres from the CaLoVo club," he said.

"Okay. Thank you so much," I said.

"Wait, does that mean you will rescue her?" He asked.

"There are more women and girls who have also been kidnapped. I bet it is the same person. I will do my best to rescue all of them," I said.

"Okay. Thank you. How much should I pay you?" He asked.

"You don't have to pay me. I have been trying to locate them for weeks now. I am the one who should be thanking you. Sorry, but I have to go" I said and hung up.

I stood up and walked to Ivy's office.

"I have found out why they are being held hostage," I told her.

"What? How!" She asked and I told her how.

"So I should get the backup ready for you?" She asked.

"My backup you mean Ire or?" I asked.

"Yes, of course. Who else is your back up?" She asked and I chuckled.

"Yes, you can. Let me go and get ready," I said.

Even though I had showered in the morning, I felt the urge to do that again. I walked into my washroom and got a bath. Wearing my Poison costume right now is risky. Therefore, I wore a black tight jeans and a black top. I packed my costume and bag and made sure that I had enough weapons. When I was done, I walked back to Ivy's office and I saw some devices on air.

"Hello Ire," I said.

"Good afternoon, Adrianna. Are you ready for the mission?" He asked.

"Yes, I am," I said.

"Then we should get going," he said.

I took the watch which helps us communicate with him and wore it.

"Ire, take care of her," Ivy said.

"Don't worry, I will," he said.

"I will be watching you from here. I have sent some drones so that they can take the footage of what will be going on there," she said.

"Okay. I will see you in the evening?" I asked her.

"Yes," she said and hugged me.

After that, I walked out of the house towards my parking lot. I chose a black car this time round since I was going on a mission and most people who knew me didn't know about this car.

"Adrianna, some devices will be leading you while others will be behind you," he said.

"Okay Ire," I said as I started the car engine.
