Chapter 85: Chapter 85
CHAPTER 85
SARA
Sara had no idea where she really was, but all she knew was that she was feeling dizzy and strange all over.
Tessa’s hands still on her wrist as they walked, they finally came to a stop in front of a building which looked empty from the outside actually.
Her head hurt badly, and her eyes were rolling as she was seeing things in double. Her tongue felt like it would split any second, burning up so badly and she sneezed.
She glanced down at the drink Tessa had given her, and she realized that she must be reacting to something in it, or the juice was probably alcoholic. Clearing her somewhat sore throat she decided to ask, “Tessa, what’s in this drink? Is it alcoholic? I don’t react well to alcohol and…”
Another sharp pain shot to her skull, and she yelped out softly almost inaudibly dragging her gaze towards Tessa, who looked like she was waiting for something or someone.
“Tessa, I asked you a question. Where the hell are we going to?” Sara asked again, increasing the volume of her voice for fear of Tessa not hearing her again, and she placed her hands on her forehead, waiting for a response, but she got nothing.
The silence was stretching, and this time again, with her swollen dizzy eyes Sara decided to look around the place where they’d come to. It was empty just like she recalled, and even though there were buildings around it was evident that they were also empty, and that they were the only ones here.
Suddenly, a feeling of fear and panic rushed down Sara’s spine, and hissing a bit dropping her hand from Tessa’s strong grip as she asked again, “Where the hell are we Tessa?” She yelled this time, waving her hands in front of Tessa’s face.
This time it seemed her gesture worked, because no sooner than some seconds later Tessa pivoted around, facing Sara and said, “Will you fucking shut up bitch!”
“Huh?” Sara exclaimed, eyes widening in horror, and still unsteady faltered a bit, as she tried to move backwards and away from Tessa who was now staring at her with a somewhat strange face.
Before Sara could open her mouth to speak again, Tessa grabbed her wrists without speaking, and her grip on the soft bones increasing she said, “So you seriously believed me, when I told you all that lies? Nothing can break my bond with Dinah, and you must be a fool believing me.”
“What are you saying, Tessa? You were crying back there, you had… You gave me a drink, I offered… offered to talk… t… t…” Sara couldn’t string her words together again. Her head was hurting badly, and she was seeing circles.
She heard Tessa laugh out wickedly as she said, “Gosh… I still can’t believe it was so easy to convince you. What a fragile heart you have…” She mocked, and this time Sara’s chest clenched wistfully.
Instantly she threw away the plastic cup of drink in her hand, as she came to the dawning realization that she had been deceived. But for what? She didn’t even understand.
She tried to take a step forwards, wanting to leave the damned silent place, but as she stared down the ground felt muddy to her, and her eyes were still running in circles. Despite that, staggering she tried her best to walk, and she was getting the hang of her steps when she felt someone grab her wrist, propelling her backwards.
“What? Leave me!” Sara struggled adding, “I have to leave this place. Why did you bring me to this place? Ariel is probably looking for me now. What are you…”
Sara was helpless, and with a strong tug, Tess easily pushed her down, and said, “You have to wait here. Someone’s coming.”
“Wait what? What do you mean?” Sara asked slowly, hands on her dress as she tried her best to stand up, but she was faltering at every end. The alcoholic drink or whatever she had taken was kicking in now badly, and her head felt like it wanted to explode.
She had been deceived, lured by Tessa and she was just seeing the red flags. It was shining brightly, even in her dizzy eyes, and she was sorely regretting her decision.
She was foolish, agreeing with Tessa’s Jayant statement and she cursed herself for believing so easily.
“Foolish of you Sara, foolish of you.” She said, hitting her forehead with her palms. Nevertheless, she knew she had to get out from here by all means. She didn’t know what Tessa, and her cohort was planning, but it was not good and now she was having this bad feeling.
A chill running down her spine, and bobbing her threat albeit fearfully, Sara started to scramble around trying to get up, but just as she regained footing, she saw some people coming from afar, and she heard Tessa’s squeals as they came closer.
Her vision blurry, Sara didn’t see them well until they were finally standing in front of them and even then she couldn’t quite make out their facial features. From their voice though, it was two men and they were having a rather strange conversation.
“Is everything set?”
“Yes, the bitch is here. I lured her easily. I’m just waiting for Dinah and…”
“What the hell is happening here?” Sara half yelled, her voice croaking, and their attention all turned to her.
“I have to get out from here. I don’t want to be a part of whatever you are planning and…”
Suddenly she heard a feminine voice from behind her, creeping up behind and she recognized it. Even in her sleep, she would know who that tone belonged to.
It was Dinah, and she tried to turn around, but before she did something heavy landed on her back, and she fell to the floor in a thud.
This time, she couldn’t even move, her eyes slowly closing as blackness creeped up upon her, and the last thing she saw and heard was Dinah’s evil face.
An evil smile on it, as the same words echoed in her ear over and over again, “Welcome Sara, welcome bitch. Now I’ve got you…”
…….
ARIEL’S POV
“I’m sorry, but I have to get back to my friend now.” Ariel said immediately, checking her watch as she saw that she had spent such a long time with this stranger.
This stranger, who was now coming onto her, and she didn’t like it. From the fact that he seemed creepy, Ariel couldn’t even think of anything else with him, because she was loyal to Daniel.
If Daniel was here, Lord knows she wouldn’t have been in the presence of any man. He would have come, he had tickets but he backed out at the last minute.
Now, she was the only one here, the carnival still going on despite evening approaching, and she didn’t like the situation she was in. She had to leave!
“But I like you. You are so pretty, and I really enjoyed our conversation. It would be a waste to let this good time go to waste just because…”
Ariel spotted something, or someone rather, rushing towards her and waving from afar.
The guy was still talking, but Ariel’s gaze was focused at his back, and on the increasingly familiar person coming towards her.
“Miranda?” She blurted out abruptly, her brows raising. What was she doing here? She had refused coming? She had been sick too right? Why was she here and…
“What are you talking about?” The stranger said to her, turning around to see what had her attention.
Miranda was upon them now, and coming to a stop in front of Ariel, she began to pant heavily, hands on her chest trying to regain her composure.
On a normal day Ariel would have laughed at the sight in front of her, considering how worn out and tired chubby Miranda looked, having ran for miles. She would have even joked that this race was good for her, as it would help her burn some fat but today… Today, the way she looked, was not something to play with.
It screamed all shades of serious, like Miranda had something to do and that’s why she had come. Now Ariel, was curious.
“Is she your friend?” The guy still standing with her asked, but she paid him no heed.
“Hey…” Ariel leaned, placing her hands on Miranda’s bent back, “Hey, what’s wrong? Why are you here? I thought you were sick?”
Instead of answering her initial questions, Miranda asked a rather strange question still breathing heavily, “Tell me Sara is somewhere around. Where is Sara?”
“What’s happening? Why are you…”
“Where is she?” Miranda asked, standing upright and her mouth still open to say something, she locked eyes with the stranger and then blurted out, “Aiden.”
“Miranda!“ He called back, staggering back and dropping the cup he had in his hands on the floor.
“You both know each other?” Ariel asked confused, and Miranda just raised a hand to her lips as if in shock as she began to cry. Tears were streaming down her face profusely, and she was mumbling some incorrigible words that Ariel just couldn’t understand.
Finally she heard Miranda say, even though muffled, “You were… were sent here by Mikey right? You are one of Mikey’s boys. You have the biker tattoo on your wrist and oh God… Fuck!” She cursed out loud.
Ariel was still standing, staring at them confusedly, and she watched the guy stagger back as if wanting to run away.
“What is going on here?” Ariel asked, the same time Miranda yelled, “Where is she? Where is Sara? Where is the girl in your…”
“Wait what?”
Ariel watched as Miranda asked the stranger that question, and from the look on his face something was just not adding up. Instantly, Ariel began to see the signs, as a feeling of fear bubbled up within her.
“I’m sorry, but I have to leave and…” Instantly the boy took of in a dash, and Miranda tried to stop him, chasing after him but she got no chance at all.
“What’s happening Miranda?” Ariel asked, already bringing out her phone ready to dial Sara’s cell, but unfortunately it wasn’t going through.
“Ariel, I’m so sorry…” Miranda broke off again, “Where is Sara please?”
“She was standing over…” Ariel whirled around, pointing at the far spot where she had left Sara standing but it was empty, “…there.” She finished, her eyes widening in horror as she saw nobody.
“I’m coming.” Ariel mumbled, as her phone chimed with an incoming call from Christian. Swiping at her cell, she picked it instantly hoping to hear him say he had come to pick Sara up but then…
“Ariel hope you guys are having fun right?” He launched immediately, not even greeting or anything and Ariel’s voice got stuck.
“Who is that?” Miranda asked in a whisper.
“Did Sara call you Christian?”
“Huh? Isn’t she with you?” Christian attacked, and defensively already sensing that he had no idea what was supposedly happening she quickly said in a bid to cover up, “No, no. I though you both already spoke before. We are having mad fun.”
“That’s great. I’ve been trying her line, but it’s not going through. I’ve just been worried that’s all. We talked earlier, but it’s getting late and I want to see her tonight. Thought you both are done so I can come pick you…”
Ariel didn’t allow him finish, as she interjected, “No, no we aren’t. Take care Christian.” She said abruptly, and cut of the call.
“We really need to start looking for Sara, I don’t like the way I’m feeling right now.” Ariel muttered.
Miranda sniffed, as they began to run together, “I told you guys not to come. I tried to warn you guys.”
Even though Ariel paid no heed to what Miranda was saying, she kept praying at the back of her mind that Sara would be somewhere safe, and okay
