Chapter 83: Chapter 83

CHAPTER 83

CHRISTIAN

Christian stared at his cell phone, waiting for Sara to pick up his call. He had been dialing her all to no avail, and now he was on the verge of giving up.

“Is anything the matter son?” His mother asked and he just sighed.

She was with him in the room, as they were both busy packing for his leave to Seattle in some days. Today he had expected Sara to be here helping him, no he wanted her to be here with him, but she was nowhere to be found.

Looking up from his phone, and throwing the clothes he had in his hands on the bed, Christian plopped his ass on the bed frustration eating deep at him.

“You are calling Sara?” His mother asked, walking over from the bed, and placing a hand on shoulder and obligingly Christian nodded.

“I’ve been calling her since morning, but she has not been picking my calls. I think she must be at that damned carnival party I told her not to attend, and now she’s so engrossed in whatever fun she’s having.” He huffed, his hands raking through his hair as a hiss escaped his lips.

His mother only let out a laugh, and sitting besides him, she said softly, “Like you said she must be having fun, so let her be. Ariel her friend is with her right?”

“Yes, yes…” Christian nodded. “Then she would be fine. Stop bothering yourself too much. She’s not a kid you know.”

Christian wanted to believe his mother’s words. Sara was not a kid, and she could definitely be able to take care of herself right, but then why was he having this bad feeling. This chilling feeling running down his spine, that indicated that something crazy was going to happen.

Was he overthinking things, or…

His cell phone began to vibrate, and quickly Christian didn’t even look at who was calling. He just swiped the answer button and placed the device in his ears, “Hello.”

“Christian, I saw your missed calls. What’s up?”

It was Sara, and her voice brought instant relief all through his bones. He was still angry that she hadn’t picked his calls earlier, but now she was talking to him, and everything was fine then.

“How are you? I was worried? What’s up with you too?” He asked, craning his ear to hear what she was really saying, noting that the background was noisy.

“I… I’m coming.” She mumbled, and for a while the line went silent until she said again clearing her throat, “I’m at the carnival party. I thought I told you that when we talked last night? How many times would someone repeat things to you? You are not a kid Christian.” She huffed, and he listened dumbfounded at her words.

“Sara…” He called out gently, before adding, “What do you mean?”

“Whatever… There’s so many fun things going on here Christian. It’s a pity you didn’t come, you’ve missed out badly. I and Ariel are having the time of our life.” She squealed, and he just rolled his eyes.

“You are having the time of your life, that’s okay. Enjoy yourself.” He said gently, even though he didn’t mean half of what he said.

Christian didn’t like the fact that she had attended this party, even when he had told her not to countless times, but well…

“Thank you, thank you. What are you up to? Sitting at home watching movies or…”

He didn’t let her finish as he added almost inaudibly, “I’m packing for Seattle. There are a lot of things, I need to arrange and I’m kind of busy now.”

“Oh…” That was all she said, and before he could say another thing, she added, “Well, I should leave you to your work. Take care.”

Whenever she sounded like this, one thing was evident. She wanted to end the call, and even though he felt a twinge of disappointment in his heart, he let her be, not prodding any conversation further.

“Take care Sara. Goodbye, I love you.” He muttered slowly, and she responded in kind albeit curtly, ending the call, “Goodbye Christian…”

“No I love you, just goodbye Christian and that’s it. Wow, Sara, just wow.” He muttered to himself, staring at the phone in his hands, his heart twitching painfully, as he sighed out loud.

“Son… I think you are just thinking to much about this. What’s the matter? Chill, let her have fun.” His mother said with a chuckle, and grabbing some of his clothes she added leaving the small room, “These clothes are dirty. I’ll tell Kevin to put them in the dishwasher, while I prepare lunch.”

“Thank you mother.”

Standing up, he stared at the clothes on the bed, but he was suddenly not in the mood to continue what he had been doing earlier. Throwing his phone on the bed, Christian went to his window, staring outside, watching the birds chirp and sing.

Even as he stood, the cool breeze whipping past, he couldn’t get over the bad feeling that coursed down his spine.

Was he overthinking like his mother had said? Was he being overprotective like Sara had told him one time? He had no answers really, no answers…

…….

DINAH’S POV

Dinah had her sight on Sara, and Ariel.

Standing with Tessa, Mikey and his minions, she just couldn’t take her eyes of that bitch, that seemed to be making life hell for her. They were both having the times of their lives, and Sara was sharing a cotton Candy stick with her friend. The smiles on their face as they danced to the music playing in the background, made Dinah’s chest clench bitterly.

She felt like going over to where they were standing, grab Sara by the hair and do something harmful to her.

Dinah didn’t know why, but anytime she set her eyes on Sara, she felt like doing disastrous things to her. Sara was the one pressing her buttons, and she couldn’t explain why she always felt that way. Well, today was her doomsday, and she would get an ounce of everything she deserved.

To think that Miranda had tried talking her off the plan, foolish bitch.

A smirk on her lips as she remembered that the plan would successfully take place today, Dinah giggled out loud not caring that people were passing by and staring at her like she was crazed.

“Honey…” Mikey drawled, coming to stand close to her, one of his arms on her shoulders.

Dinah let out a soft hiss, as Mikey’s bad scent filled her nostrils. He reeked of alcohol and cigar smoke, and she would believe it all to quickly, if he told her that he had been drinking.

“What’s on your mind, sweetie?“ He said again, this time whirling her around so he was facing her, and he placed his lips on hers, kissing her roughly.

Disgusted but not showing it, by the time he was done, Dinah quickly pulled herself away from his hold.

“I can see you have your sights, on our target for the day?” Mikey said, bringing out a cigar stick and lighting it up, he offered Dinah one but she quickly refused. She didn’t want to get intoxicated, as she had to do this with her full piece of mind. The cigar Mikey was smoking, was laced with weed, and other drugs, and it would knock her out immediately if she took a long drag.

“I’m fine, and yes, I’m looking at our targets for today’s plan. I can’t wait to show them my true colors, and punish them for making my days at the orphanage an unbearable one.” Smirking, she watched Mikey nod in agreement and she couldn’t laugh further.

Dinah had carefully twisted the story, and Mikey who was blinded by the love for her, believed every fucking thing she said. He was a fool, she thought to herself, and she couldn’t wait for everything to work out, so she could be with Christian.

She would dump Mikey’s silly ass, that was for sure.

“Mrs Ada, and Mr Philip have been briefed already. I think it’s time to get on with the plan…” Dinah announced, turning to face Tessa who was dancing with one of Mikey’s boys.

“Tessa!” She half yelled, and Tessa startled, faced her immediately, “Yes.”

“I don’t need to tell you much, since we ran over the plan last night right?” Dinah said, and Tessa nodded.

“Good! Mikey you would have to send one if your boys to distract Sara’s friend. The other lady with her, you know Sara is our first target right?” Dinah asked, going over to Mikey and placing a kiss on his cheeks. Her affectionate gesture worked instantly, and smiling at her, Mikey commanded one of his boys to do just like Dinah had ordered.

Watching the boy leave, a wicked giggle escaping her lips, Dinah whispered in Tessa’s ears, “Take that drink with you, as you go meet her. Try to be friends with her, and tell her some bad stuffs you did to me. You know she’s soft hearted, and I know she would pity you instantly…”

Tessa laughed, shaking her head positively, and Dinah chuckled to, the plan already making sense and in motion.

“Off you go then.” She urged Tessa after a whole, noticing that Ariel was no more with Sara.

Moving backwards, coming to an abrupt halt where Mikey was standing still, Dinah placed her arms round his shoulders and squealed happily, “Soon, I’ll frame her. Soon all will be done.”

If Mikey knew what she was talking about, he said nothing and it made Dinah more happy because she didn’t have time for any of his pestering questions. She only had one thing at the back of her mind, and that was the plotting of Sara’s downfall.

Soon, just soon, Sara & Christian would be a thing of the past!
