Chapter 74: Chapter 74
CHAPTER 74
SARA
“Oh my goodness Sara you look stunning.”
Oh she looked stunning quite alright, Sara could admit it herself, as she stared at the full length mirror, of the boutique store they were in.
Today had been such a hectic but memorable day for her, and as she stared at herself in the full length mirror, maybe the stress was paying off, even when she didn’t have a hand in this.
After the small birthday celebration that had been organized by Miranda and Ariel back at the orphanage, Sara had no idea that another bigger party awaited her, and here she was dressing up for the supposed event that Christian was hosting, like he’d told her over the phone earlier today.
A shiver running down her spine, as she gaped down at the halter neck emerald wine colored dress she was putting on, a smile on her lips too, Sara blinked twice hoping that this was a dream but it was not.
She was here with Ariel, in this quite expensive boutique that Christian had rented out for her, even when she had vehemently told him countless times, that she didn’t want any of this, or even a celebration of any sort.
He had still done his thing, going all out to pay for a stylist and makeup artist to get her all ready, rented a dress for the party, and in some minutes Daniel, Ariel’s boyfriend was to come pick them at the boutique, so they could go straight to the party at…
She had no idea where the party was being hosted, and even when she had asked him over the phone earlier today about the location, he had seemed discreet, diverting the topic and not giving her anything concrete.
Her only guess was at his house, even when it seemed unlikely, because for him to go to these lengths just for her, then surely he had other big plans in store for her.
It must have cost him a lot, all these… She thought to herself as she looked around, with a sigh.
He was preparing for his leave to Seattle in a few weeks, and he needed all the money he could get to sustain him over there, but he had still done all these for her.
She almost broke out in a whimper, her chest tightening and…
“Whatever you are thinking about Ma’am…” Ariel said out loud interrupting her thoughts, and grabbing her hands she gave Sara a swirl that had her laughing as she turned around.
“What was that for Ariel?” Sara asked, coming to a stop, still in front of the mirror, while Ariel snaked her arms around her from behind, and placing her cheeks on her shoulders, as they both looked at their reflection on the shiny glass, she said, “You have this look of worry on your face, and I don’t like it.”
“Worry? I’m not worried, I’m just…” Sara dropped her shoulders down with a sigh, “I’m… all these, it’s just too much.”
“Nothing is too much for someone in love, and we both know how Christian loves and adores you. He would go to any length just to keep you happy, and you should know that.”
“At the expense of his sweat. This dress must cost a freaking lot. The boutique, hiring these women to come dress us up, it’s just too much. I am just 17 for goodness sake, I’m still too young for all this.” She complained, her voice relaying her frustration.
“But you sure know how to do some adult things and…”
Sara blushed incredibly as Ariel trailed off, giving her a knowing wink, just the same time her thighs clenched in knowing and longing all the same.
She knew what Ariel was talking about, and even though she wanted so much to deny having any knowledge of what she was going on and on about, she couldn’t even deny it.
She missed the feel of Christian, deep in her and…
“Stop with your mundane fantasies. Besides it’s been weeks since we last had any fun, and you know he has been busy.” She said with a wave of her hands, and dragging her face down from the mirror and away from Ariel’s questioning stare she started to adjust the dress consciously.
“Don’t be too bothered. Surely today you would have your fill right? I know Christian is gong to fuck you all shades of green tonight and…”
“Ariel!” She half yelled, disentangling herself from her very crude friend, and Ariel just giggled not ashamed one bit.
“Come of it.”
“I don’t want to talk about my sexcapades, the sane way I don’t talk about yours and…”
“Yen, yen…” Ariel interjected and grabbing her hands again, this time tightly she said, Let’s go touch up our makeup then. Daniel would be here soon!”
“How do you even know that? It’s not even 7pm yet.”
“Do you want to argue with me?” Ariel shot back at her her brows quirked and Sara just nodded negatively as she didn’t want Ariel to blast her away.
She couldn’t even say anything again, and just like she could imagine Ariel was already dragging her back into the dressing room and with a sigh, Sara followed slowly.
…….
CHRISTIAN
Christian was more than anxious.
As he paced round the small garden he had rented for Sara’s birthday party, his mind kept wondering, and his eyes occasionally wandered to the wrist watch clasped in his left wrist, as he wondered what the fuck was keeping them long.
It was almost 8pm, and still yet Daniel, was not here with her.
The decorations were done, the live band already in place playing some soft music but yet the celebrant and Daniel were not around yet.
He dialed her cell yet again, for the umpteenth time but she was not picking, the same way Ariel and Daniel were not picking too.
Had they been caught in traffic?
Besides it was late at night, and the vehicles on the road must have reduced drastically so what the heck was the issue?
He was already beginning to panic, and as a result he started to leave the garden, he heard some footsteps from behind him.
“What is the matter son?”
It was his mom, and she gently placed her hands on his shoulders squeezing gently, as she added, “You look worried.”
“That’s because I am.” He blurted out frustrated already, “Where the fuck is Daniel and the girls? It’s already getting late, and everyone is getting impatient too.” He grumbled out, looking at his friends, and the guests he had invited for the party tonight.
He checked his wristwatch again, and he could see that it was just 10 minutes too 8.
“They would be here soon. Probably they are being held by traffic. Have you tried calling them?” She inquired.
“Yes, yes I have. None of them is picking. I’m angry and I’m worried too. Not a good sign I’d it?” He murmured and he heard her sigh loudly.
“So what do you want to do now? You were going somewhere.”
“Yes I was. I just wanted too…”
He stopped talking, when his phone vibrated in his hands, and he instantly switched it on.
It was a text message from Daniel, which simple read, “We are here.”
“They are here mom. Fuck! She, they…” He stammered, dropping his phone in his pocket, and rubbing his sweaty hands together.
For someone who had been eager to see Sara, now that she was here, and they were all waiting for him by the roadside, he was suddenly feeling some kind of apprehension and nervousness.
“You can go on son. They are waiting.”
“Now I can’t even move and…”
His mother chuckled, and squeezing his shoulders this time hardly, she shoved him with her hands, propelling him forward, “Go, go and bring the love of your life here…”
And that he did…
Hands clasped together, practicing the compliments he was definitely going to throw at her today should he see her in the beautiful dress he’d chosen for her, Christian dragged his feets along as he was walked swiftly away from the garden, and down to the road where she would be waiting for him.
At long last…
