CHAPTER 29

"Sara, Sara, come get dressed we are going out." Ariel exclaimed loudly, coming into the room with two leather bags containing what looked like clothes.

"Look Ariel, I'm so tired okay, I don't have strength to go anywhere now." Sara replied, ever since she had gotten that letter from the unknown sender she had been scared.

She still had two more years to stay in the shelter and her life was already in danger, even Ariel had noticed her being moody and asked her what the matter was, but she had waved her off, saying she was fine.

Choosing to keep the letter a secret, she had not disclosed the contents of the letter to anyone, she had burned the envelope secretly, and had later pondered on who the sender was.

She was not a troublesome person, she had no enemies in the shelter that she knew off, she was an easy going person, why should she watch her back?

The red stains in the letter meant just one thing, and that was blood, did this person want her dead? Had the little girl mistaken her for another? All these questions and more ran through her head.

"Hey miss, what are you thinking off?" Ariel asked waving at her and dropping the leather bags in her laps.

"Nothing serious, where are we going to and what's in these bags?" She asked, opening the bags to see what was inside.

"You are seeing leather bags and yet you are asking me what's inside, clothes of course!"

"Oh yeah right, I can see, you went shopping for us or I don't understand, where did you get all the money to buy all these? Or......." Sara trailed off not choosing to say what she was thinking out loud. "Or what?" Ariel asked raising get eyebrows in a cute way.

"Have you started prostituting, did a rich man or sugar daddy rather give you the money to buy all these stuffs I know our money combined cannot afford." She asked sounding serious.

"Hah! What gave you that impression? Well let's just forget about that, the money I used to purchase all this is from a good source okay, so don't be scared babe." Ariel answered smiling.

"I don't even have the strength to argue with you this evening, So where are we going to?"

"It's a surprise ma'am, just get dressed, this is yours." Ariel said handing over one of the bags to her.

Looking inside, Sara dipped her hands inside and brought out a sparkly black sequined short dress, with a pair of flat beaded shoes and a diamond bracelet.

"Wow, Ariel who selected this for you, it's so beautiful, hmmmn this place we are going to is definitely going to be some place special, since it's a surprise, my head's churning thinking of where we are going too." Sara said smiling profusely.

"Oh Sara, you don't know how special this place is, oh you are going to be so amazed."

"Well let me go and take my bath, when are we leaving for this mysterious place?" She asked, placing the dress on the bed, and moving to carry her towel from her clothes rack.

"Okay dear, I'll do same, refresh and put on my clothes too, we are leaving by 7 pm, and coming back before 10." Ariel answered moving to her bunk, and bringing out her dress also.

"Okay." Sara shouted from the bathroom.

It was today, Christian was anxious and excited at the same time, with the help of his mom and Ariel he had successfully organised a beautiful date in a gorgeous garden.

He had spent a lot, from paying exclusively for the garden, to renting out a rent, the dinner, the lights, the romantic decor, amongst other things, he prayed this day would be so memorable.

This was their second date in just two months of dating, and he wanted to make it better than the first.

He had also given Ariel some money so she could get some clothes for Sara, and also to persuade her to come, this date was going to take her by surprise.

Looking over at the garden, the beautiful decorative lights lighting up the whole place enchantingly, the piano he had also rented, he was going to sing for her today.

God! He missed her so much, for almost a week he had not seen nor had he heard her voice, he couldn't wait to see her pretty face and beautiful curves in the dress Ariel had gotten for her, he knew she was also missing him because just yesterday while they were going over the store's new deliveries, Ariel had told him that she had asked of him and his health.

Chuckling at the memory, Christian glanced at his wristwatch, it was almost 7:00 clock, and they were to be here by 7, he looked at his clothes dusting and straightening the white packet shirt he had gotten just for today, he looked real good.

Suddenly he heard voices from afar, finally they were here.

"Ariel, I'm starting to get scared, where are we going to, we have been walking for over 10 minutes now but it feels like forever, and you have me on blindfold, what the heck is this nonsense?" Sara said sounding scared.

She trusted Ariel but now she was starting to get scared, when they had gotten down from the cab, Ariel had insisted that since this was a surprise, she should cover her eyes, which she had gladly done without any qualms or argument, now she was beginning to regret that decision.

"We are almost there, don't be scared okay, you worry to much, or don't you trust me any longer?" Ariel asked mimicking a babyish viuce.

"Of course, I trust you, it's just that I just don't want this to be a prank, or you know........" She trailed of when she started hearing sounds of a piano being played.

The melodious tone, enrapturing and captivating, but that was not what caught her attention, it was the voice, someone's was singing, the voice sounded so familiar and she choose not to beieve it was his voice, no it couldn't be, she was hallucinating.

"Well, here we are." Ariel said removing her from her trance, and untying the blindfold.

Sara's eyes because blinded by lots of sparkling lights, she didn't know if it was as a result of the blindfold she had been putting on, or if she was going to be sick but her eyes started to turn her.

Suddenly she heard fireworks being shot into the sky and written above were the words, "Please forgive me my love."

Oh God! She gasped quietly Christian was at it again, with tears in her eyes, she turned to look for Ariel only to see she was alone, it seemed she had quietly left when she had been so ensnared with the colorful fireworks, so this was the surprise she thought as the music continued playing and Christian's voice sang melodiously.

Even after she didn't pick his calls, nor reply his messages he hadn't been angry, she had thought he would be upset and stop disturbing her but he had continued.

Still gasping, Sara put her hands to her mouth and burst into tears, she didn't deserve all this, all the romance, the love, she couldn't begin to explain how she felt about all this.

"Sara love, stop crying." Wiping at her tears, she looked up to see Christian staring at her with so much love and affection, his blue orbs pierced her brown ones and she was lost.

Looking breathtakingly handsome in a white packet shirt, and black jeans he looked so serious yet stunning at the same time, she couldn't help it when she bursted out laughing.
