Chapter 99: Chapter 99

Sherry was stunned, she froze for a few seconds when she saw that the truck was driving towards them at full speed.

She quickly turned the car to the left at a large parking lot. The car stopped moving after they were safe. She looked at the truck from the rearview and saw that it didn't seem to want to stop, it kept moving at full speed before he finally hit a tree. The trees in the areas are always very strong, it would take two days and six men before they could successfully cut the tree down, but the truck breaks the trees easily. That is how deadly it is. No doubt if the truck hit them, the car would crash and they would probably survive. Even if they really survived they would be crippled for life.

Who is vicious and doesn't care about the loss of life that would do this?

She knew that there are many heartless people outside, whenever she sees people torturing or doing something bad to people she always wonders if those people are heartless, why can't they also do the same they are doing to people to themselves so they can understand the feeling.

"Sherry?" She heard a voice called her in her head.

Sherry was in a daze, she couldn't believe she almost died, she escaped death at the last minute. Even when she wished she died she doesn't want to die a painful death like that.

Sherry turned her head and looked out of the window robotically, she saw that it was Bryan, she didn't even understand how the car stopped moving or why it stopped moving but she was really grateful. She knew that she was safe and she finally succumbed into the darkness.

"Sherry!" She heard his voice, it was filled with panic before she finally closed her eyes.

Sherry opened her eyes dazedly, she looked at the ceiling and saw that it was white, even the wall was white. It looked unfamiliar, their room was not like this.

Is she in heaven?

She sat up on the bed suddenly.

She looked at her left and saw Bryan sleeping, with dark circles under his eyes, he looked tired and exhausted.

She traced his dark circles, feeling her heartache for him.

Bryan caught hold of her naughty hand, he was a light sleeper to begin with. He already sensed her movement when she woke up but his eyes felt heavy and he didn't feel like opening them.

"You are awake?" Sherry asked, surprised.

His eyes were still closed as he responded "Uh" Bryan replied and opened his eyes, he looked at her and flashed her a smile.

Sherry smiled back at him…

"You have finally woken up, you have been in a coma for two days" Bryan said as he sat up, leaning back on the couch.

"Really? But I don't feel like something is wrong with" Sherry raised an eyebrow.

"The doctor said you have a slight concussion" Bryan replied.

"Oh, so I don't have to take drugs right?" She asked with an hopeful voice.

Bryan chuckled when he heard this.

Sherry felt embarrassed when she heard his amused chuckle and pretended like she was mad at him, "Why are you laughing?"

Hmph

She hates drugs so much that the answer to the question is very important.

"Nothing, you don't have to worry you are not taking any drugs" Bryan reassured her with a smile, he ruffled her.

She suddenly remembered something.

"Wait, what about Tara? Is she alright? What about her situation? Is it worse than mine?" Sherry asked him questions and tried to get down from the bed.

Bryan held her hand in place.

"She is fine, she is already discharged and her parents have already come to pick her up," Bryan replied.

He felt a little jealous when he saw that she cared a lot about Tara but he didn't let it show on his face.

"Oh that is good, where is my phone?" Sherry asked and she looked around searching for her phone.

Bryan dipped his hand into his pocket and brought out her phone, "This is it, what do you need it for?" He asked casually and put the phone in her outstretched hand.

Sherry unlocked her phone and dialed Tara's number before she finally replied to his question, "I have to call, she must be frightened and right! She is pregnant, is the baby ok?" Sherry asked him.

"Yes," Bryan nodded, feeling sullen.

He was the one who stayed by her side when she was unconscious, she didn't even care about his health but cared about her health more than him.

Even though he knew Tara is a female, he still felt jealous of her, he already took her as a rival.

The phone rang but she didn't pick it.

Sherry was a little worried, she was about to dial her number again when a message came into her phone.

(Tara) : Hey, Wassup. You are awake now? I can't talk now, text only.

Sherry immediately replied to her question, "Yes, I just woke up, Bryan told me you were discharged. Are you alright?"

(Tara) : I'm fine you don't have to be worried about me.

Her reply came fast.

Sherry : "Oh what about the baby? Is he or she alright too?"

Tara: Yes

Sherry: I'm sorry I almost made you lose your life, maybe if you hadn't followed me you wouldn't have been implicated, I really believe now that I'm a bad luck.

Tara: It is fine, I don't blame you besides it is not your fault, it is someone who is plotting against you.

Sherry: But if you hadn't followed me, you will be safe

Tara: I'm safe now anyway, don't blame yourself and put it away from your mind. I already instructed someone to investigate the accident.

Sherry: You don't blame me? You don't regret being my friend?

She hoped she was telling the truth from the bottom of her heart, she doesn't have any friends except Tara and doesn't want to raise another Wendy who loathed her in secret but pretended like she had her best interest in mind.

Tara : "No I never did"

Sherry could feel the firmness in her text, she heaved a sigh of relief but she still felt guilty that she almost harmed her unborn baby.

Tara sent another message when she saw that Sherry didn't reply.

Tara : You should rest now, have you eaten?

Sherry was about to type when her phone was snatched away.

She looked up and saw Bryan looking at her with a sullen look.
