He looked exhausted, like he could collapse at any time.

Bryan walked into the ward room.

He was told by the nurse that his Grandma was awake so he wanted to go and see her.

He looked at his Grandma, she was looking at the hospital ceiling in a daze.

"Grandma" Bryan called.

Grandma looked at him when she heard his voice.

She tried to sit up immediately she saw him, Bryan quickened his step towards he helped her up.

"Bryan, you are here. Thank God you are alive" Grandma said with a relieved smile.

Bryan held Grandma's hand, "Yes you should not worry I am fine" He said.

Grandma felt something was wrong when she saw only Bryan and Sherry was not beside him.

"Where is Sherry? Where is your wife?" She questioned immediately.

Bryan felt his heart squeeze in pain at the mention of Sherry but he still kept a straight face so Grandma won't be worried.

"Grandma, I told you before that Sherry traveled out before didn't I?" He said in a calm voice.

Grandma shook her head

She could sense that something was wrong somewhere.

"No call Sherry, I want to talk to her" She insisted.

Bryan pursues his lower lip.

"Okay I will call her," He said.

He dipped his hand into his pocket and brought out his phone.

He dialed Sherry number.

He also wished she would pick up too, if he heard her voice he would be very happy.

The phone rang and no one picked up.

"Maybe she is asleep, you know she is pregnant," Bryan said.

Grandma also felt that his words made sense and she nodded in agreement.

"I want to see her, tell her to come and see me soon" She said and yawned.

Bryan nodded.

He coaxed Grandma to sleep.

He sighed after she finally slept off.

He was sure it won't be easy to brush Grandma off next time she asks.

He stood up and walked out of the room.

He saw that the people outside the ward room are not three instead of one.

His expression did not change as he walked towards them.

Tara immediately stood up when she saw him, "Mr Bryan, where is Sherry?" She demanded.

Bryan looked at her, he took his eyes off her.

He did not say anything and just looked in a daze.

"Is she really dead?" Tara said, she whispered the 'dead' in a low tone because she was afraid that it was the truth.

Bryan still didn't say anything.

Cornelius stood up and said to Tara directly, "You should not keep questioning him. He is also affected by this, "he said.

Tara took a step backward.

Richard immediately stood behind her and steadied her, with a pale face.

"Bryan!" A furious voice called.

The trio looked up to the hospital entrance except for Tara who was still in a daze.

A furious Nancy walked towards Bryan with Steven running behind her trying to catch up with her.

"Where is my sister?!" Nancy demanded aggressively.

Bryan did not say anything, he just looked away.

Nancy immediately wanted to rush towards him, Cornelius stood in front of Bryan blocking Nancy with a forced smile, Steven had also catched up with her, breathing heavily, he held her back when he saw her movement.

"Sister, we will patiently explain this to you, can you calm down?" Cornelius asked with a forced smile.

"Get out of the way now!" Nancy said angrily.

"Sister please can.. n you…. Calm down?" He stuttered when he saw how fierce she was looking at him.

"No I am not calming down" She said and pushed Cornelius out of the way strongly but she could not no matter how much she tried.

Why is this guy so heavy?

She could not even move even after using all her strength.

"What happened to Sherry?" Nancy asked after calming down, she could not even see Bryan or touch with Cornelius blocking her and Steven who was holding her hand tightly.

"Elder sister, we will explain to you. Actually, Sherry… di…ed in… th..e fi..re" He stammered.

Nancy's body trembled.

Even though she knew already she still could not take it.

She just had the habit of checking her social media every morning ever since she was bailed from the prison.. She was always searching for news about Sherry just to know what she was doing.

She woke up this morning and checked her social media as usual and saw the news. She was so shocked that she almost hurt herself fortunately Steven was beside her.

She wanted to rush and drive to Bryan's villa before but Steven stopped her. Bryan would surely not be at home since the villa caught fire so he investigated where Bryan was. It took him hours before he finally found out that he was at the hospital so they came here.

"Why did you not die instead!? Sherry had suffered a lot when she saw young till she grew. Why will she die so young? You should be the one to die instead!" Nancy said with bloodshot eyes.

Steven held her shoulder, parting.

He knew what she said was wrong but she was feeling upset that is why her words were a little harsh.

Cornelius was a little mad when he heard this but he could understand her feelings.

Bryan let out a depreciating smile, "Yes why did I not die instead? I wish I could. I will gladly do so. " He said slowly like he was talking to himself.

All of them were stunned when they heard this.

Bryan staggered out of the hospital, they were still in a daze when he walked out of the hospital. Cornelius snapped out of his daze and immediately followed him afraid that he would hurt himself.

Nancy's leg trembled and almost fell.

Steven immediately helped her.

Nancy looked at Steven with bloodshot eyes, "My si..ster is re..ally de..ad. She is re..ally dead.. I was not even ….giv..en cha..nce to r..epay h..er all th…e de…bts am ow..ing her"

Steven hugged her and patted her back, "It is fine she will be happy in heaven. Maybe she is watching us and giving us blessings right now" Steven said and consoled her.

"I alr..eady not..iced so..mething a..miss w..hen she didn..'t atte..nd o..ur w..edding, I only thought she wa..s still ma..d at m..e I did not kno…w that she…" Nancy said as tears rolled down her eyes, she could not bring herself to say the word dead. She felt that it was unreal and hoped that it was all a dream and she would wake up soon.

Steven did not say anything. He did not know how to console her and kept patting her back.

He suddenly felt that she was not moving anymore in his arms even though her cries had stopped.

"Nancy?" He called in a low tone.

No movement, just silence.

He turned and looked at her… he saw that her eyes were closed.

His face turned pale in fright.

"Nurse!" He yelled.

Richard saw that something was wrong, he immediately called the attention of the nurse.

The nurse immediately asked Steven to follow her into a room.

Tara's situation was no better but she was still trying to hold her emotions so it won't affect her pregnancy.
