Chapter 39: Chapter 39

Akash’s P.O.V.

When Naira rushed out of the living room, Ehan seemed to go behind her but directing him to sit, I went after her. She was walking towards the hall room. I reached her taking long strides.

When she caught the sight of me, she got uttering, “Why are you here? You should have stayed with everyone.”

I could feel she was trying to sound all normal. I got uttering then, “Naira, can’t you just say that you are not comfortable at all with this?"

She gave me a confused look though I was pretty sure she knew what I was talking about.

When I spoke up, “Ehan and Stella.”, she immediately looked away avoiding my gazes. But I continued, “Maybe he is just waiting for you to say it once.”

She shrugged off that and spoke up all smilingly, “They look good together, Akash." like it really didn’t matter to her anymore. Thinking of this, I too ignored all this for a while as she spoke up, “Now forget all this. Come, let's check the arrangements. After all, it’s your wedding tomorrow. Everything has to be the best.”

Saying this, Naira entered the hall room and I just followed her in.

Naira got busy with the wedding planner so was I. After some time Ehan also got there followed by Mack and Rivan.

After some time they made me left from there saying, “We are here. You should go and spend time with Alina.”

When they started teasing me, I thought leaving would be the best option for me and came back to the living room. Both of our families were still gossiping there.

Talking to them for a while, I got back to my room and sat on the balcony. After few minutes Alina got there. She took a seat beside me and uttered, “What happened? Do you think it’s working?" giving me a hopeful look.

I looked at her with an amused expression. Tomorrow we were supposed to get married but leaving that she was busy in worrying for my sister. I knew Naira was that important to her as she was to me.

I just smiled at her but didn’t get to answer her. Diverting her mind, I just uttered, “Let’s hope for the best.” and then started talking about other random things. Maybe she also understood but didn’t interrupt me....

Next Day

Naira’s P.O.V.

I and Stella were getting ready Alina. She was looking really beautiful. Stella kept teasing Alina, “Akash won't be able to take his eyes off you today.” getting her all blushing.

When she was all ready, we too got ready and took Stella down as it was time. Alina’s father got near us and Alina got hold of his hand as they forwarded towards the hall room walking down the aisle.

We also followed them. The hall room was beautifully decorated and a piece of soft music was playing. As Alina got near the stage, Akash got near and forwarded his hand for Alina to hold.

With a smile, Alina held his hand and got on the stage. I got standing with my family members down the stage. While talking to them happily, my eyes fell on Ehan who was looking at our direction but when he saw me looking at him, he immediately averted his gaze.

I thought for a moment Ehan was staring at me but no. I was wrong. It was Stella who was just beside me and all blushing. My mood was already soured. I wasn’t understanding what to do. Whenever I found Ehan and Stella together, I got restless.

But I wasn’t ready to accept that nor I wanted to get hold of him. He had the right to move on. And from the look of Stella it was all clear to me that she had started falling for Ehan. It might be the case for Ehan also. After all Stella was indeed beautiful who was popular among boys in college too but I never saw her taking interest in anyone before but today.

She was falling for Ehan. It was all over her face. Just because of my indecision I didn’t want to get her hurt also. If they were happy together, then..

My thought got interrupted as the officiant got starting with reciting the verses of the Bible loudly silencing the whole crowd of the hall room.

Leaving my disturbing thoughts, I concentrated on that. A pin drop silence occupied the room which made the officiant's voice echoed around the whole place. All the guests settled down on their seats and were now silently watching the ceremony.

The officiant started uttering, "Since it is your intention to enter into the covenant of Holy Matrimony, join your right hands and declare your consent before God"

Akash and Alina both faced each other. They were looking all happy and it made a smile crept on my lips also. Akash stepped forward and took Alina's hand in his as the officiant stated, "Akash Mehra, do you give your consent to have Alina Marshall as your lawfully wedded wife, to live together after God's ordinance in the holy estate of Matrimony? Will you love her, comfort her, honor and keep her, in sickness and in health; for richer and for poorer, forsaking all others and keep yourself only to her, so long as you both shall live?"

With a smile on his face Akash uttered looking at Alina, “I do”

The officiant then turned to Alina and stated the same. When Alina also gave her consent, “I do.”

"Now exchange rings." The officiant ordered.

They exchanged the ring and then the officiant declared them as husband and wife.

We as well as the guests stood up from their chairs and applauded aloud. Some blew whistles.

The reception party started. Many of the guests got on the dance floor. My disturbing thoughts which were forgotten for a while made their way back instantly as I saw Ehan walking towards the dance floor holding Stella’s hand.

If it was some other function, I would have left but looked at Akash who was smilingly talking to someone with Alina beside him, I couldn’t do it.

My eyes got on them every few moments making me go crazy. At some point, the wedding party came to an end. Before leaving the hall room, Alina picked up the bouquet for tossing it.

All the girls were eagerly stood there except me and hoping to catch the flowers. She tossed it back and to my utter surprise, it fell on Stella’s hand getting me somewhat shocked.

I stood blankly as she walked towards Ehan holding the bouquet and got on her knees right there with the bouquet in her hand and then got uttering, “Will you marry me?”
