Chapter 82: Chapter 82

**

Frank couldn't believe his ears when the doctor had told him the outcome of Aria's test result_in which ninety nine percent of the test conducted on drug effect came back positive. Aria was confirmed to have been drugged with a relatively high dosage of ambien. A common but potent sedatives hypnotic drug.

What was shocking to the doctor and everyone else was the amount given to her in her condition.

A little bit more would have caused some after effect on the foetus especially but somehow the dosage given to her was just the right amount and accurate. The person must have done a lot of research to know the right dosage to use plus such drug were not sold anywhere and especially not just to anyone out there in the street.

Whoever was able to lay his/her hands on that particular drug must be in the knowing or better still_a professional.

Frank knew the incident must have taken place back at the bar. She was perfectly fine back at the ceremony and even at the bar__she was just fine as well until she requested for soda when it wasnt convenient for her to drink alcohol.

That must be it!

She had just soda to drink and nothing else so it has to be it.

The realization of that very fact had his hand balled into a tight fist. Someone must have slip something into her drink without anyone noticing.

But why? Why would someone do such a thing to a total stranger who they barely knew! Unless someone who works there got paid to do it.

Frank wasn't exactly sure who could go that far just to harm his wife but he sure as hell knows everyone working in that damn bar that very night is getting arrested and jailed even until someone confesses to the crime.

That won't be the last of it either. He is sure to sue every damn owner of that fucking bar and burn it down if anything were to happen to her or the baby. He won't fucking care.

He has the capacity to see to it that everyone involved is brought to the table and persecuted just as much.

And with the new information in hand, he quickly put a call across to someone and ask that they sent someone over before informing his mom as well.

Frank was having a hard time explaining exactly what could be going on to his mom because the poor woman seemed to be having an emotional breakdown at the receiving end of the call.

"Mom! Mom please calm down. I told you because I didn't want you to get worried hearing it from someone else. She is stable and the doctor is taking care of her" he paused before continuing. "I just need you to pray for her mom. God always seem to listen when you do"

"I'm on my way son. I will be there soon" she replied through the receiver and clicked off before Frank could tell her not to.

He was about to call her back when his cellphone began ringing almost immediately but couldn't dare to answer it. Her brother in-law was calling probably to congratulate them again.

If only he knew the condition his sister was currently in. He'd remind him of his own promise.

To protect and keep her safe always. Something he couldn't do no matter how careful he thought he was in achieving just that.

He didn't want to lie neither was he sure he was mentally strong to tell him the truth either.

Frank didn't for one second imagined that things could get this messy after everything they had been through. He let down his guard for just a moment only to have someone drug her right under his nose.

The fact that he had been in constant fear for the past weeks leading to their marriage didn't help him much.

Why can't he just be happy.

Why was fate playing with his emotions.

Was it his bad luck or someone was after his share of happiness.

Whatever it is, Frank was determined to find out and find out he shall.

Just a matter of time and truth shall be revealed.

Kelvin on the other hand had taken Lizzy home to get more things for Aria just in case it would be needed and was yet to return to the hospital.

Frank was still in the doctor's office working on some paper work when the nurse who had gone in to check on Aria came back running through the door in alarm.

"Doctor!" She yelled on top of her lung but stopped when she noticed Frank as well.

"What is it Charity. What's going on" the doctor had asked getting up on his feet to face the trembling lady in a knee length nursing outfit.

"Doctor! The patient that was just rushed in a while ago that was admitted at ICU is no longer there" she explained in one sentence.

"What do you mean the patient is no longer there. Have you asked if she was moved?"

She shook her head with almost certainty.

"No doctor. You told us she was to be monitored so I don't think anyone did"

Frank was already out the door running toward the ICU center before either the doctor or the nurse could say more to his hearing.

His chest was pounding with utmost fear with the mere thought of that patient being his wife.

He stood dead in his tracks when his legs finally carried him to the same room where he had left her in not too long ago.

The bed in which she laid was indeed empty because she was no longer lying on it. She was really gone but to where? She was barely alive the last time he checked and the thought of her running off on her own seemed almost impossible.

Unless someone took her.

Too many questions running through his mind at that point before he took off running towards the parking lot.

What the fuck was going on!

He had no idea where he was headed but he knew he had to find her and fast.

He was right on time to watch a black Nissan vehicle drive outside of the premises almost immediately.

Frank couldn't help but feel like he had missed a chance to save his wife from whoever had the gut to take her.

And right where the car had drove off, he noticed the wheelchair seating at the same point. Furthermore proving his intuition right.

Aria was indeed in that car but he doubt if she was conscious enough or the wheelchair wouldn't have been needed.

Just about then_two officers arrived and made their way to where he stood trying to call Kelvin to head back to the hospital immediately.

"Good evening Mr Okoji. My name is inspector Sule and this is my colleague. Sergeant Ben. We came as soon as we could" the first officer had introduced himself and his companion.

"I know exactly who the fuck you two are okay? But you are late and my wife has just been abducted right after someone tried to poison her"

Just about then, the doctor and the nurse had rushed out and joined them.

"We are sorry we couldn't get there sooner but we are here now and we will make sure to get to the root of this and get your wife back in one piece" the second officer had assured him.

"Whether you do it or not, am getting my wife back"

"We understand that the disappearance of your wife has got you feeling this way but you have to help us if you want everything to work out right. We need every single detail concerning what happened. You have to tell us where you were or what you were doing when she was abducted"

"I was here alright? I was in the doctor's office when the nurse came in to announce her disappearance from where she was admitted"

The officer asking the question had noted his statement down right after the doctor had confirmed it.

"When did you notice she was gone?" The officer had asked turning to face the nurse.

"Right after I went in to check on her. I found out that the bed was empty and ran to notify the doctor immediately"

"So you are telling me that the patient in question couldn't have gone to the restroom by herself when you went in to check?"

The nurse shook her head while throwing glances at the doctor for help.

"No officer. She couldn't have"

"Look officer. The patient was unconscious when she was brought in and I can tell you that she was in no condition to walk around or use the restroom all by herself"

"Okay. So someone definitely took her"

He took another note while the doctor continued to explain further.

"Seem that way because she is nowhere to be found" the doctor had uttered in earnest.

"Okay so before she was admitted. Who else knew she was here and I mean including her room number and just everything that would have been used to trace her whereabout to this place"

"No one officer. Just my mom and she is already on her way here"

"Are you sure she is the only one you had communicated her whereabout with? Because I understand how the situation must make you feel but we need to make sure we have every detail that can help in this investigation"

"Listen officers, instead of asking this questions and wasting more time. Why don't you guys just get out there and fucking look for my wife because someone has got her and it's not this two or my mom" Frank had practically growl at the officer standing closest to him and asking all the questions.

"Calm down sir_We can't just run off into the street in search of someone we don't even have an idea how she looks like. First we get the necessary information and then you show us the picture for profiling"

Frank quickly reached for his phone and flip through his gallery and stopped at the one they had took earlier at the courtroom.

Aria had her megawatt smile on as she held on to her husband before the photo was clicked by her best friend.

She looked so happy that it makes his chest burn, just knowing that she was in the hands of some sick bastard while he was getting his ass questioned.

"Here you go. That's my wife right there. Now go look for her please" he shoved it into the hand of the officer impatiently.

The officer took a closer look at the screen before passing it to his colleague who did the same as well before handing it back to Frank.

"It's okay. We will do our best to find her but first we need to look at the security cameras. If she was truly abducted by someone then the cameras must have captured the person so c'mon doctor. Lead us to your security unit"

Frank knew they had a point. Why didn't he think of it sooner. The security cameras must have footage from earlier.

The only camera that captured anything was the one at the parking lot and it was too far off to see anything other than a nurse pushing her out in a wheelchair and heading towards the parking lot.

The zoom in could offer little or no help with the plate number of the vehicle but it was a black car. The same one Frank was sure to have seen driving out forty five minutes ago.

"Well, it's been confirmed that someone had indeed taken her and it's looking like a nurse"

"Or someone who is dressed as a nurse in order to have access to the premises and take my wife" Frank had interjected.

"Right. That person must be a professional to play the costume game. So Mr Okoji, do you by any chance know who would want to do something like this perhaps?"

"No I don't officer"

"Are you sure? Maybe your business associate?"

"No officer unless you are insinuating something here"

Frank has already had it up to his nose to be playing mind games with an officer who is looking for a reason to do his job.

"No sir but we will be heading back to the bar to question everyone and hope to get anything that will help us find that impostor in the camera and get your wife back to you safely"

"You should really do that officer or I will"

And with that last warning, he took off towards the exit.

Kelvin was taking too long to show up and he was starting to hate every minute of not knowing the whereabout of his wife.
