Chapter 98: Chapter 98

I don't know how I was able to drive despite my deep thoughts. What happened earlier made me feel hurt and lonely. Not for me but for my children.

It's been almost three months since I told the twins about their father. That was not easy for me, if only I could hide the truth I would do it. But I also know that my children do not deserve to be lied to.

They were three years old back then when they started asking about their father. Like normal children they also looked for a father. But at their young age, I know they won't fully understand everything yet so I better not mention anything. I did promise them that when they reach four years old, I will introduce them to their father.

And I did it.

I let out a deep breath as I finally parked my car in the company parking lot. Again I remembered the faces of the twins before I left the house. The sadness and regret in their eyes.

For a moment I felt like I wanted to go back to Vista Querencia and comfort them as much as I could. But I also know that no matter what I do, I can't change the rift that has eaten into their hearts. The only thing I can do now is to trust them that like me, they will overcome everything.

I was unbuckling my seatbelt when something caught my attention. Or should I say, a family. They were all smiles as they walked out of the company.

I sneered bitterly at the memory that came to my mind while watching them.

Deja vu.

Like what happened before, I saw them again. Whole, happy, and apparently no problem. I shook my head and took off my gaze from Agustine's family. I do not know what his wife and daughter are doing in our company. Even Agustine, I don't know why he is here.

As far as I remember, I passed a sample design to him last night. In addition to that, I also informed the possible schedule of design proposals when we had a meeting so I don't understand why he is here at the company.

When Agustine's car finally left, I just got out of my car. I glanced at myself in the reflection of the window for a moment and then headed towards the building.

Just like yesterday, I was greeted by the employees I passed by. There is no contempt or mockery in their eyes. Instead, I saw admiration there.

"What is my schedule for today?" I asked my father's secretary when I reached the office.

"You have a meeting later at 11PM with Mr. Sandoval, 3PM with Mrs. Buenave."

I took a quick look before glancing at the folded papers. "Okay, you may now leave."

I thought that she was going to leave after that but I looked up at her hesitant face when she still did not move from her seat.

"Ma'am . . ." she started. "Mr. Revelar wants to have an audience with you later at 6PM."

I quickly frowned upon hearing this. "What for?"

Six? That’s too late.

"For the project, he said," the secretary answered.

I took a deep breath before leaning back in my swivel chair. "Call him. Inform him that I am not available at the time he has set."

What does he want? He better behave now that I do not have a good night's sleep like this, I might end up hitting him.

"How about when . . . when he asks if when will you be available?" She bit her lower lip after saying that.

"Mina," I called her name.

She quickly adjusted his posture and looked at me intently. "Y-yes, Ma'am?"

"In the years you have been serving Daddy, how many times does Mr. Revelar come here?" I asked, instead of answering her question.

I saw her swallow for a moment. "Mr. Revelar often visits here, Ma'am," her response literally shocked me.

I lifted my back from leaning on the chair and stared at her even more. I didn't expect her answer. I thought it was going to be the opposite of what she answered about what was happening in recent years.

They are still meeting in those years?

I've always wondered why Daddy and Agustine still do business together. I thought they just followed the contract and were professional, but to know that they meet often. . . there seems to be something wrong with that part.

For a moment, my chest was filled with trepidation at the thought that entered my mind.

Could it be?

Is he blackmailing my father?

I clenched by fist with the thought of it. Just thinking about the possibility of Agustine doing that to my father, I can't help but get angry. I shut my eyes tight and tried hard to calm myself.

"Alright, you can leave now. Tell him my answer," I said when I opened my eyes. "And by the way, I'm going somewhere later after lunch. I will be back before the meeting with Mrs. Buenave."

"May I ask where, Ma'am? Just in case there is a client looking for you," she asked politely.

"Tell them that I am looking for a house. That's all you have to say."

When she left the office, I started sorting through the documents on my desk. I prepared a new proposal for the business. I did an approval on a few and rejected on the others after about an hour. Later, Mina returned to the office to let me know about the next meeting.

I just answered her with a simple nod. She already understands that I am going out too, I'm just going to fix things. Because the client chose to meet at a restaurant.

When I finished the preparations, I walked towards the door. I was about to open the door when it opened itself. I was momentarily surprised when Agustine's frowning face appeared in front of me.

"Where are you going?" he asked a question.

I made my face emotionless in front of him. "What are you doing here, Mr. Revelar?" I returned the question.

"I am here to have a meeting with you. Since your secretary told me that you are not available later."

I couldn't help but sigh in front of him. "Mr. Revelar, I am sorry to inform you, but I am also not free this time."

Seriously, why is he pestering me?

If I were in his situation with someone I hated, I would never want to see him all the time.

"I have a meeting today. So, please, let's just reschedule that for tomorrow," I promised, running out of patience.

"What time will your meeting end?"

"Excuse me?" I said unconsciously after hearing his question.

"I wll come with you. When your meeting ends, let’s discuss matters," he said with an authority.
