Chapter 27: Chapter 27
"W-What the hell are you talking about? Haven’t I told you already that do not disturb my family just because of your belief?" I tried to bold my voice.
His lips formed a smirk. He slowly stepped closer to me and brought his face close to my ear. I almost fell with his action but he just grabbed me by the waist.
"You are a good model, Jazzie, an actress also. But unfortunately, our son got all my features," he whispered. "I totally believed on your lies. Even though I could almost see my own face in our son, I believed you."
He slightly distanced himself from me but still kept his arm wrapped around my waist. He then stared at me.
"If the DNA test result hadn't come earlier, you might have hidden him again," he said and then lowered his gaze to the suitcases I was carrying.
My face went pale after hearing his words. "H-he is not your son," I continued pretending.
He scoffed. I felt his arm tighten on me.
"We will talk this at home," he said in dismissive tone.
I was immediately consumed by nervousness. I used the rest of my strength to push and get rid of him.
"Who told you that my son and I are coming with you?!" I couldn’t help but raise his voice.
He lazily put his hand on his pocket then glanced at his men. "Try me, Jazzie," he uttered when his eyes went back to me, giving me hints to his possible next step.
I was about to speak when I heard a little footsteps. I quickly turned to my son who was currently walking towards my direction. His brows furrowed after seeing Valjerome in front of me.
"Mom, is he the one who will pick us up?" said my son.
I was too terrified that I immediately picked him up and hugged him tightly.
"Yes, I am here to pick you up," Valjerome spoke gently.
I glared at him. Despite the apprehension I felt I still couldn’t help but show him my anger.
He just looked back at me, giving that warning look, then stared back at my son. His eyes were dim as he watched my son who was now just staring at him as well.
"Aren't you my Mom's boss, Sir?" Erom asked politely.
I saw Valjerome gulped and opened his mouth to speak, but unfortunately he could not say anything.
Why is he acting like this? Why is he doing this? What does he want?
"Yes, I am," he answered hoarsely afterwards.
"Are we now leaving?" my son asked again.
Valjerome nodded slowly then turned to me. His sweet eyes just disappeared so quickly the moment they hit me.
"WE are leaving," he emphasized then turned his back against us.
He started walking without looking at us. However, his guards did not leave their posts.
I would like to object. I want to make a scene. But how can I fight back? Aside from Valjerome's numerous underlings scattered, I also don't want my son to be get scared of what might happen.
I was so helpless that I only thing I did was close the door of the condo and followed Valjerome's footsteps. I left the suitcases because I knew that his scattered men would carry them on their own. I was not mistaken when I felt them following us even though they were a few meters away. Different scenes have come into my mind with every step I take, scenes that bring negative feelings to my chest.
"Mom, are you okay?" Erom asked when he noticed my silence.
I forced a smile at him and nodded. “Mommy is just not feeling well,” I lied.
"I thought we are going on a vacation, Mom?" he asked astonishingly. "Why is your boss with us?" he added.
I bit my lower lip and averted my eyes. "There was just a little bit of an emergency, son. But don't you worry. We'll only be with him for a while."
He gave me a small nod. "It's okay. He seems good too," Erom mumbled.
I badly want to correct my son regarding on what he said, but I don't want to confuse him at his young age. I don't want to stain the beautiful world he has been living in with evilness.
I just smiled and kept what I wanted to say. A few minutes later we were finally in front of a limousine. I could see my son's amazement as he stared at the car.
Jaime approached us. He bowed slightly and then stood up again properly before he opened the car door for us. I immediately saw Valjerome in the end part of the seat.
I wasn’t about to enter the car until my son looked at our direction. I slowly sat down and squeezed myself to the side as I hugged Erom despite the large space between us. I know he noticed that but hasn’t talk about it.
The car started to move. I tried to calm my aching chest and just focused my attention outside the window. I also occasionally watched my son continue to get amazed about the car.
"Mom," he spoke lowly.
"Hmm?"
He squeezed the side of my neck and whispered. "I also want a car like this," he murmured.
I bit my lower lip as I thought my son was starting to dream something else. He was asking me for food lately, but now he is starting to know the things that are beautiful in his eyes.
"You want this?"
I stiffened when Valjerome spoke. Erom turned to him and my gaze followed. He's staring at us—no, he's staring at my son. I feel like he has been looking at Erom since earlier, seems like he’s watching and memorizing my son's behavior.
Erom slowly nodded his head. "Is this expensive?"
"It is," Valjerome answered. "But then, I will give this to you for free," he added.
My son's jaw dropped. Even I couldn’t help but to amazed in disbelief. I don’t know if he was happy, angry, frowning, because I couldn’t read emotion in his eyes as he stared at my son.
"Really?!" my son could not help but exclaimed joyfully.
"Erom," I immediately called at my son then looked sharply at Valjerome.
He didn't bother to give me a damn, instead, I saw him took his phone out of his pocket. He pressed something there then he put the phone to his ear.
"Transfer my limo to Jace Erom ..." he trailed off when he was about to speak my son's surname. "Hevion," he continued.
I looked away as his eyes focused on me. As if he’s blaming me for making that decision. He ended the call then looked at my son again.
"This is now yours," Valjerome stated.
Erom gasped and shook my body. "Mommy, did you hear that? Your boss just gave me a car!"
I don’t know what to answer to my son. I just nodded and looked out the window because a tear is about to form in the corners of my eyes.
I felt helpless. I want to run away with son. I don’t know what Valjerome is doing but I’m only sure of one thing…
My son is in danger.
