Chapter 25: Chapter 25
"Who is your Mom?" Valjerome asked again.
Slowly, Erom roamed his eyes. "She is my Mommy," he answered while pointing his finger at me.
Valjerome looked in my direction. His eyes have no emotion but you can feel the cold there. With my trembling knees, I tried to walk toward my son.
"Who is your father then?"
I stopped in my tracks. I tried my best not to fall on my feet.
"Papa Chaos," my son stated.
Valjerome laughed sarcastically, but did not speak anymore. I took the opportunity to finally approach my son. I embraced Erom tight, scared that Valjerome might do something to him.
"Mom, who is he?" my son asked with his innocent curiosity.
I tried to smile at him to hide the fear and nervousness I was feeling. "H-he is my boss," I replied.
"Jazzie."
I stiffened when he called me. I slowly turned to him and stared.
"Yes, sir?" my formal response, pretending that I was not affected by what was happening.
I saw the tension in Valjerome's jaw. Even the sly clenching of his fist did not escape my sight.
"Let's talk." He looked at my son for a moment then turned around and walked away.
I did not immediately followed. I was afraid that he might have a servant and suddenly send my son away. I want to get rid of the frustration but I have to be strong and act well in front of Erom.
On cue, Ken arrived.
"Oh, you are still here. I met that guest on the way. He does not order you anything?" he wondered.
"Can you please watch Erom for a while?" I pleaded instead of answering him.
"Huh? I always watch him when I am here? Are you fine, Jazzie?" He laughed softly then shrove. "Come, Erom. Let's play," he said to my son.
Erom quickly left me and was happy to approach Ken. I watched them playing tag for a while before I decided to stand up.
"Ken, don't open the door when our co-workers aren't coming in, okay?" I said as I get his attention.
He looked at me, confused. "You mean I will lock the door when you come out?" he assured.
I bit my lip and nodded and looked at my son. "Mommy's just going to work, okay?"
"Take care, Mom," he said and gave back his attention to Ken.
They played again while I remained watching, afraid that when I left, he would suddenly disappear from me.
I took a deep breath and decided to take my steps. I closed the door and then simply roamed my eyes around, looking if Valjerome's staff are scattered. I don’t know if I’ll be thankful that I did not see anything or be scared because I don’t see them.
Calm down, Jazzie. Don't overthink.
I made my way until I finally reached Valjerome's suite after a few minutes. I stared at the door, thinking of different scenarios that might happen inside.
Act normal, Jazzie. Erom is Chaos' son.
With that thought, I slowly opened the door. I caught Valjerome and Jaime talking to each other. My ex-husband was sitting on the sofa while his underling was standing in front of him. I don't know why I was already scared because of that.
Did he order anything? Will he kill my son?
I feel my eyes slowly rotating due to nervousness. Yet, I calmed myself down a bit and without any emotion, walked towards his position.
"You may now leave," he commanded Jaime.
Jaime bowed slightly to Valjerome in respect then finally walked out. I wanted to chase and follow him but everything would just get more complicated.
"So you have a son," he stated, emotionless.
"Obviously," I said, acting unbothered.
He stared at me for a while then stood up from his seat. I was shaking in nervousness but I tried not to reveal it. I met his stare and showed him my untroubled eyes.
"Who is the father?" he asked seriously.
I raised an eyebrow. "Didn't you hear my son answer earlier? He's a Hevion, in other terms, Chaos' child."
His jaw clenched. "How old is he?" he fired another question.
"Five," I answered.
I don’t have to lie at my child’s age. There’s a big possibility that he’ll investigate Erom, lying about anything registered to my son could be a hole.
"He is my son," he claimed.
I scoffed then laughed emptily. "Have you forgotten?" I said, controlling my anger. "You made me killed your child years ago," I continued.
"He's on the same age!" he pointed out.
"That's because I also got pregnant right after a few months!" I shouted back.
I saw how he stiffened from his place.
"When you kicked me out of your house, Chaos and I lived together. Months after that, I got pregnant with HIS CHILD," I emphasized.
Valjerome shook his head. "I don't believe you," he said.
I smirked. "Then don't. No one's forcing you, but don't you dare interfere with our lives. Don't disturb our happy family just because of your own belief," I said seriously.
"You are not married," he said immediately as his jaw continued to tighten.
I sneered. "Why? You can be only called a spouse if you are already got married? As far as I remember, we're married back then, but I can't recall myself being your wife, Mr. Montevardo."
He didn't speak anymore. Or should I say he can't speak any further.
I took the chance to speak again. "If you don't have anything else to say, I am leaving. My son is still waiting for me," I said and was about to leave.
"Our child ..."
I stopped when I heard him murmured. I slowly turned to him and met his bulging eyes.
"Did you ... really abort our baby?"
I don’t know why I feel like his sounded hopeful in his question, hoping that I will answer him no. But I am done being deceived by this illusion. I knew him, he's ruthless. That is the obvious truth.
"You should have seen it yourself how much blood did I lose after she gave me that medicine back then." I smiled weakly. "The child was still a blood but you wanted to kill him. So don't expect that my son with Chaos is yours and acting as if you want to take him. He's not yours, Valjerome. You killed your son six years ago. "
I finally turned my back against him and left his suite.
You never deserve to be called the father of my son, Valjerome
